Wild Vid: 18-Month-Old Flung from SUV During High-Speed Police Chase…and Walks off Unharmed

The little girl, dressed in pink, stands up after being flung from an SUV during a high-speed chase
When 17-year-old Kenny Shawn Jimenez robbed 19-year-old Chelsea Betenbough at gunpoint in west Texas on Saturday, she rhetorically asked him, “All that with a baby in the backseat?”
But witnessing the robbery was one of the calmer points of the night for the 18-month-old.
After a high-speed chase ensued and the getaway vehicle barrel rolled, the baby was flung from the window of the car and, miraculously, walked off with only a few scratches.
In police-cruiser video released Monday, the toddler can actually be seen popping right back up and going after the vehicle with her arms out, before a woman jumps out of the car and swoops her up. Reports indicate that Jimenez is her father.

According to the victim, the preceding robbery took place in a parking lot in Lubbock, Texas.
She explained: “[He] turned around and was like, ‘no, give me your purse’ and me not really thinking, I was like ‘no.’ He said, ‘I will shoot you, give me your purse…’”
At the time, not only did she see a baby in the backseat, but she also saw two 16-year-old girls and a 14-year-old boy.
According to the New York Daily News, police eventually busted the teens– two of whom were hiding in a woman’s backyard.
Jimenez was charged with aggravated robbery and injury to a child, but details on the other teens were not released because of their ages.

Posted on June 14, 2012 at 2:06amI was a teenage mom, although I was a married teenage mom. We both had jobs, and were quite responsible for our young ages. Neither one of us ever robbed anyone, and actually started a business in our early twenties that turned out to be successful. I had our child in a car safety seat before they were even invented. I took a booster seat where the back could completely drop down, reversed it in the car, and passed the seat belt over the seat, under the arms. My friends thought I was nuts, but as you will realize, I was ahead of the times.

Posted on June 13, 2012 at 4:00pmI have said for years, if minors have babies, the teenager’s parents should have to sign paperwork to “co-sign” for the child. Saying they will be held responsible for both the safety and the financial liability for that child, in order for the teens to get custody. I am sick of these idiot teens putting babies in harms way.

That child needs new parents! Remove all parental rights and give this baby a chance for a future by putting her up for adoption… and NOT by the family of any of these pukes! She’ll turn out just like them!

Try them all as adults this was no little thing take the baby away and put all four away. Punishment to harsh? What if someone was killed? Not this time but what about the next time? If nothing is done they will have no fear of the law. Big boy crime big boy time.
