At least one man was taken to a Dallas-area hospital after a driverless electric cart drove onto the field at Cowboys Stadium, plowing through a small group of coaches being interviewed after winning a high school football championship.
Coach Willie Amendola of Spring Dekaney High School is the man who ends up in the passenger seat after being hit from behind while speaking to reporters.
As you can see in the clip, several people were struck by the runaway cart. The latest reports said only one person needed to be transported to the hospital. Fox News reported that not long after the incident, Coach Amendola was actually seen giving more post-game interviews on the field - with a small streak of blood on his left forearm.
For the record, Spring Dekaney won the Texas State Division 5-A II Championship on Saturday night, beating the defending state champs, Cibolo Steele 34-14.

Posted on December 18, 2011 at 2:06pmI bet the guy that stopped it was the one that started it in the first place. If you watch, he comes from the left of the screen. Looks like he was already chasing it. Thats funny I don’t care who you are.

Posted on December 20, 2011 at 12:23am@ELIASIM I don’t get your remark. Anyway, I like how the guy in the passenger seat bails out instead of reaching over and pressing on the brake pedal.

The GOP is completely at-fault. News at the top of the hour! Atty General knows absolutely nothing about it and will not be stepping down as a result.

Posted on December 18, 2011 at 11:57amSome freak liberal in government will use this as their excuse to add some sort of government regulation requiring some sort of emergency shut off or some other bizarre requirement on either the manufacturers or users of electric golf carts. They are relentless and never let any incident or situation escape their grasp.

Posted on December 18, 2011 at 11:45amGot To Love Those Electric Vehicles, they have a mind of their own. You know, because you and I can’t think for ourselves.
We let others to the heavy thinking and end up burning fossil fuel to produce electricity to charge our batteries to MSA (Move !@#$ Around).

Posted on December 18, 2011 at 11:15amAny one notice how the stiff orange absorption pad was placed at the bottom of the seat frame and over the accelerator? If you know golf cars, you know that that pad is covering the foreword reverse lever and is holding down the accelerator, and covering the brake. That means this act was deliberate and pre-planned. It might have been a joke gone bad, however it was deliberate.
Golf cars no matter if they are electric or gas, by nature are automatically off when they are at rest. It takes activation of the peddle to make the golf car systems activate (turn on). That is a design feature on all golf cars. This one was deliberately over ridden by the orange safety device you see on the floorboard.

Posted on December 18, 2011 at 11:48amAsolutely! Being a golfer I’ve had a little experience with golf carts. You have to force that pedal down to not only accelerate, but to engage the engine in the first place. An orange cone just landing on it won’t do it unless it weighs the same as a concrete block. Definitely looks like a prank gone horribly wrong.
Report Post »arc_angel
Posted on December 18, 2011 at 12:12pmLook at the 13 second mark on the video. The position of ‘two cones’ (or whatever you want to call them), have very obviously been positioned to hold the accelerator pedal down. I guarantee this was done on purpose, as will come out in a follow up story. Very cute to the @$$ hole(s) that did this. Must have been a slow day at the asylum.
