Will Roseanne Barr Be the Green Party’s Vice Presidential Candidate?

Roseanne Barr Is on the Shortlist of Green Party Vice Presidential Candidates

For those who aren‘t particularly excited about either party’s presidential nominees, there is an alternative that should be more compelling to watch: The Green Party — and Roseanne Barr might be the vice presidential pick.

The Green Party’s presumptive nominee, Jill Stein, is expected to announce a running mate this morning in Washington, D.C. the day before their annual convention in Baltimore.

So where does Barr fit in?

“She’s one of the people who was on the shortlist,” Stein’s campaign manager, Ben Manski, told the Washington Post.

We couldn’t make this stuff up.

More from WaPo:

Manski said Barr has not been a distraction from the serious business of campaigning. “It’s a sign of the maturity of the Green Party that we have attracted somebody as well known as Roseanne Barr and as admired for her acting career and activism.”

Yet he said it says even more about the Greens’ growth that they’ve elevated “a seriously homegrown candidate” like Stein — i.e., a veteran Green, unlike the ex-Democrats who once claimed the Green Party’s nomination: Ralph Nader, who won 2.74 percent of the national vote in 2000, and Cynthia McKinney, who got 0.12 percent in 2008.

But can Barr — whose campaign didn’t respond for comment — survive a vetting? On Twitter, she drops what would be a career-ender for any other pol at least once a day: rants against the Catholic Church, plenty of f-words, even the occasional grousing that her own party is trying to “silence me.” And she hasn’t exactly left showbiz: She’s got a sitcom in development, and plans to make a documentary of her campaign

To be fair, Barr did come in second to Stein in delegates, even if it was a very distant second — 84 to Stein’s 205. But she did enter the race in late February and ran an extremely unorthodox campaign, including trying to recruit Willie Nelson as her VP on Twitter. Nonetheless, she will speak at the Wednesday convention right before Stein.

I think she needs to go back to school, she sounds like a old truck driver when she speaks and her message is lost. Not that we want to hear it, she knows nothing about what is going on in the world.

America really has gone to the crapper. When this is a scenario that happens & even a small portion of Americans would even vote for that shows the absolute decline in the standards of thought in the world today. We, as a people have collectively gone down I.Q. points (Thank you Liberal teachers).
What the hell have allowed to happen?

    So we have a choice:
    1. A Communist Progressive.
    2. A moderate RINO Progressive.
    3. A physician who nobody ever heard of.

The Republicans believe that people are expendable assets that should be given just enough jobs so they can be constant financial fear and pain. “Control by Pain.”

The Progressives believe that people are expendable assets that should be given just enough jobs to stay alive but live under the total and complete control of the state. “Control by Laws.”

The Greenies believe that people should live in Utopia. “Out of Control.”

I believe that people should control the government and live happy lives. “Government and money should work for people – people shouldn’t work for government and money.”
