SIERRA BLANCA, Texas (AP) — A U.S. Border Patrol spokesman says country singer Willie Nelson was charged with marijuana possession after 6 ounces was found aboard his tour bus in Texas.
Patrol spokesman Bill Brooks says the bus pulled into the Sierra Blanca, Texas, checkpoint about 9 a.m. Friday. Brooks says an officer smelled pot when a door was opened and a search turned up marijuana.
Brooks says the Hudspeth County sheriff was contacted and Nelson was among three people arrested.
Sheriff Arvin West didn’t immediately return a phone message left at his home Friday, but he told the El Paso Times that Nelson claimed the marijuana was his. The singer was held briefly a $2,500 bond before being released.
Nelson spokeswoman Elaine Schock declined to comment when contacted via e-mail by The Associated Press.
Editor’s note: Here’s a flashback clip from earlier this year as Willie Nelson admits to Larry King that he used marijuana prior to the interview:

Posted on November 27, 2010 at 12:52amI have an idea. Let’s legalize all drugs.
Then:
1. Treatment for any illness, caused by drug use, will not be funded by the taxpayers.
2. Drug use will not be an excuse for any violation of the law.
3. Any “high” driver who kills anyone with his/her auto, will be executed within 30 days.
4. Anyone injured by a “high” driver, will receive compensation for life.
5. Any drug using parent(s) who sends a child to school with drugs in their system, will be sent to jail for a minimum of one year. (Life, for repeat offenders)
6. Any student, found with twice with drugs in their system, will be denied Special Education classes.
7.. Any President who “jokes” about inhaling pot, will be impeached, found guilty, removed, and imprisoned.
8. Any politician, who will not enact the necessary laws to implement these measures, shall spend one day in the classroom with a minimum of twenty-five “drug babies”.
For those that advocate drug use, or simply don’t care, trying teaching these kids. Is it any surprise that education has gone downhill since the 60′s?
7.

Not because of MJ, but because of the Progressives that outlawed corporal punishment and teaching the 3 R’s along with the real history of the United States.

Or people who are on prescription drugs and drive. If one is sitting in their own house and is not hurting anyone and not doing it around their kids…whatever. People demonize this too much and equate it to heroin, meth, and other harmful drugs. This is just a way to relax. And no I do NOT do it myself, but if someone else wants to I don‘t have a problem as long as they don’t make it a problem for themselves. It’s not going away.

I would like any naysayer to show me 1 piece of evidence where marijuana has been directly linked to a death.I hear all these anti pot people rant on and on yet they have no problem consuming alcohol and there are far more deaths and families detoryed by alsohol abuse. http://blogs.wsj.com/wallet/2009/01/22/turbo-tax-and-timothy-geithners-tax-problems/
Paulson ran Goldman since 1998, floating it on the New York stock exchange a year later. By the time he left, its share price had almost trebled.
His move into government was sweetened with a huge tax break. Faced with a conflict of interest that would have made his job at the treasury impossible, he sold about $500m of Goldman shares built up during his time at the bank. In return, the US tax authorities waived a requirement for him to pay capital gains tax on the sale – handing him a $200m tax break, according to some estimates.
