Wis. High School Students Drown Out Pro-Union Protesters With Chants of ‘Stand With Walker’

Usually when the media talks about high school kids at the Wisconsin Capitol it’s been about teachers bringing students to protest Wis. Gov. Scott Walker and his budget cuts. But we have some different news to bring you today: during a visit to the Capitol last Thursday, some Wisconsin high school students decided to fight back against the anti-Walker sentiment they were witnessing during an impromptu visit.

Wisconsin Students from Sheboygan Luther Chant Pro Walker Message at Capitol

Pro-union protesters performing a sing-a-long in the Wis. state Capitol.

In short, students from Sheboygan Lutheran High School decided to stop by the rotunda in Madison while in town for the state high school basketball playoffs. While there, they witnessed protesters signing about unions and solidarity. So they decided to drown them out with pro-walker chants.

Wisconsin Students from Sheboygan Luther Chant Pro Walker Message at Capitol

Students from Sheboygan Lutheran drown out pro-union protesters.

The Wisconsin Citizens Media Co-Op has more:

On Thursday March 15, 2012 the afternoon Solidarity Sing Along was taken over by a large group of supporters from Lutheran High School in Sheboygan.

The students, parents and supporters were all in town to participate in the WIAA Boy’s High School Basketball Tournament and arrived at the Capitol for a celebratory rally and to have their photo taken with their legislators.  A small group of singers was located on the ground floor of the rotunda for their weekly Thursday afternoon song circle which was quickly drowned out by the thunderous cheers of the LHS group.  Shouts of “LHS” and “Stand with Walker” thundered through the rotunda and was met with wide approval from the LHS supporters.  One student entered the circle to mock and taunt the singers with dance moves.  The extremely loud and boisterous encounter could be heard in the Assembly chambers, where legislative business was still being conducted.

The Solidarity Sing Along remained calm and peaceful throughout the ordeal and eventually moved outside to continue singing while the rotunda erupted in approval.  Later on, several visitors from the LHS group were given a standing ovation by some legislators in the Assembly when they were introduced by their legislators.

Here’s the video:

William A. Jacobson, associate clinical professor at Cornell Law School, notes that some anti-Walker protesters were angered by the students’ move, calling it “hypocrisy.” Jacobson wasn’t having any of that:

Excuse me, did the students take over the State Capitol and refuse to leave, set up camp, damage walls, threaten legislators, crash through police lines, encourage police insurrection, sit down in hallways blocking access, pound on buses carrying legislators, lock their heads to railing, or do any of the other destructive things the anti-Walker protesters did for weeks on end last year?  (added) Oh, and did I forget the death threats?

It‘s worth mentioning that from the video we’re not sure if the students broke out into chanting at the prompting of others or if it was organic. But I will say that I’ve been to the Wisconsin state high school basketball playoffs in Madison, and kids chanting is as common as snow in January.

By the way, just days after the students visited the Capitol, Sheboygan Lutheran won the Div. 5 state basketball championship on a last-second three-point shot by the state’s Mr. Basketball, Sam Dekker:

Wow! There are some kids that don’t buy the propaganda in Wisconsin? …and they‘re using the Liberals’ own tactics of shouting over others with whom they disagree! It‘s good that they don’t simply take Liberal propaganda as their gospel, but I’m not certain about the right using the same dishonest tactics the left uses; that is denying free speech to others. Why bother with the union protestors though? They‘re thoroughly corrupted or brainwashed and will never admit that they’re wrong. The unions are simply preaching to their choir, right? I don’t think they will win over many independents by chanting hateful slogans.
These are smart kids that aren’t going to simply follow the lemmings into the ocean and drown with the rest nonetheless.
By the way, a lemming is a rodent famous for blindly following their herd often resulting in marching to their own deaths; drowning themselves in rivers.

The left will say, “Of course these kids like Scott. They go to a school where morality, ethics, and principle can still be legally taught. This is exactly why private education should be barred. Had these kids been forced to get the same inept education as other teenagers they would have stood in solidarity with the other sheeple teenagers who don‘t even know there’s only 52 states. These children who buck the mainstream thought process carefully tailored by our Progressive machine are a disgrace to everything un-American and should not, and eventually will not, be tolerated. They’re free spirit and exercise of their right to speech was offensive and they should be fined. If their parents have jobs they will soon find out what happens to their careers when such freedom and self thought is tolerated within their children.”

Thses kids probably have brothers and sisters with college degrees that can’t get a job and owe thousands in student loans. Companys don’t want employees that are followers – they want leaders. Those union teachers try ti dumb them down. The kids know that texting – twittering etc. on their resume won’t impress a head hunter. Most companys already are trying to get the folks off their cell phones and do work.

On Thursday March 15, 2012 the afternoon Solidarity Sing Along was “TAKEN OVER” by a large group of supporters from Lutheran High School in Sheboygan. Where to begin? They disrupted the disrupters, and the disrupters were unable to handle it. Not physically. They did fine there and kept it respectful. But to complain about being taken over is laughable.

Hot Dog you mentally challenged buffoon. The kids dragged to the demonstrations by their teachers to join the protest under the guise of studying the protest was despicable. These students won a championship and were visiting the capitol for reasons completely unrelated to politics. The fact that they responded to these protesters not at the direction of a teacher but of their own accord makes all of the difference in the world. They were not being used but were rather exercising their first amendment rights.

You’ve got the wrong dictator there, Walker didn’t just issue an executive order giving his bureaucrats power over all natural resources, all food and means of food production, and even where stores must or must not be located in the states. He didn’t just tell all the churches and religious schools they must dispense or provide free contraceptives, abortions and sterilizations to all women of child bearing age, even if they don’t believe in the above. He didn’t tell the WI National Guard they had to open up to gays before the survey was ever passed out to them to determine if it would harm our military readiness. As a matter of fact, I don‘t think he’d make a very good dictator, I’ve heard him say he believes in freedom to choose, in education, on joining a Union, and many other such decisions. It‘s not the citizens whose property taxes went down because the school districts weren’t forced to buy their insurance from the unions at $thousands over the cost of competitive insurance. And for brats on Daddy and Mommy’s money, HOW ABOUT ALL THOSE KIDS UP TO 27 YEARS OLD STAYING ON MOMMY & DADDY’S INSURANCE? Wonder how many grand kids they have to put on before the kids grow up enough to take over?

See the difference with liberal run schools and those who teach their children to believe in the American Constitution, real book learning and American History? No wonder most of our liberal public schools have failing kids, who can’t even keep up with other countries. The liberal schools teach liberal crapola instead of the 3 R’s. And they keep throwing more money at these failing schools, because of the Unions who don’t care about good teachers, just what they can make off the gullible teachers.

Good to know that there are some rational Americans ready to stand up to the bullies and the Occupiers who seem bent on making America a Marxist country in debt up to her eye-balls in Big Brother Government !

Keep your Lutheran’s straight. These kids were from a Missouri Synod Lutheran School. Both Wisconsin Lutheran and Missouri Lutheran are very conservative forms of Lutheran, While ELCA is known for it’s radical, liberal, let’s all just get along, PC leanings. Being well acquainted with both Missouri and Wisconsin Synod Lutheran high school students I am not at all surprised by their willingness to stand up for what they believe in, in a mature and appropriate manner. I’m sure their parents and teachers are very proud of them.

In my city the public school kids in a failing high school will now be given a course in “ the civil rights movement ” followed by two way out of state “ bus trips” for a field trip. Any wonder what this budget/ gas busting little addition to the school year will accomplish ?? That is what the Democrats plan for our failing public schools. Any wonder why ?

Watchnig the video, I found myself chanting along with the kids. Good for them for having the courage. This is what it takes to stop the intimidation. A final thought: the Gov Walker recall idiots must be PO’d that the kids are standing with the good Gov rather than them, since they expect all kids to be brainwashed. Oh wait, it appears they dont’ go to public school. I think it’s hysterical!

Maybe there’s some hope after all with the attitude of these kids. These parasitic unions will stop at nothing to maintain their power and that’s all they care about, that and money. The unions are greedy fat cats that need to go the way of the dinosaur, they’re bankrupting states all over this country and the sooner we rid ourselves of these unions the better.I don’t know how these government employee union members do it,they actually have a zero co pay for prescriptions, how do you survive? No charge for office calls,it must be difficult.I could go on and on but I work for a living unlike union maggots.

No, it will not stop, I live here and the air of hate is in the air. If they do not succeed in recalling him, they will have him impeached. They are working on charges already. We are one of the few people that are BRAVE enough to have a We Stand With Walker on our home, We are waiting to have our windows broken or our home egged, The union controls this state and they are mean mean people, but then they are Obama’s people, Obama’s words. if they bring a knife, then we will bring a gun. There are mostly bussed in union thugs here now and I am sure they will be voting as they managed to get rid of voter ID for this election.

I applaud your courage to stand against the union pigs, hopefully if enough of us do that we can eliminate them once and for all.Either way they‘re going down because they’ve already bankrupt several states, tick tock union pigs soon you’ll be put out of our misery either by the real working people or your own greed.
