Wis. State Sen: We’re Willing to Hide for Days, Weeks

CHICAGO (AP) — Democrats who fled Wisconsin to block a vote on a sweeping anti-union bill could stay in hiding for days or even weeks.

Democratic state Sen. Jon Erpenbach (erp-UN-bahk) spoke to The Associated Press at a Chicago hotel on Friday. He and fellow Democratic senators left Wisconsin on Thursday to delay the near-certain passage of a bill backed by Republicans and GOP Gov. Scott Walker.

Thousands of protesters have also flocked to the Capitol in Madison, Wis., to demonstrate against the bill.

Erpenbach says there’s no fixed date for Democrats to return to Wisconsin. He say all 14 Senate Democrats will meet somewhere in Illinois on Friday. He would not say where or exactly when.

This would be a very good time to use this situation to remove those congressmen and replace them with better men. I know that there has to be a law or somekind of clause that would be used against them for their behavior. We need to get the men out that have no backbone and replace them. I don’t even see why nobody has even mentioned anything about impeaching Obama in the first place.

Actually, I would prefer it if you never came back (as one Wisconsinite to another). I want Gov Walker to introduce an emergency bill that will allow the vote to go through as those Senators decided their support for the protesters is actually a lack of representation. Those districts that now have no representation should have an emergency votes quickly elect people who will be willing to do the job.

In February, 1988, Walker admitted violating Marquette campaign rules during his run for student government president and the Marquette Tribune deemed him “unfit” for office after finding Walker’s campaign guilty of “mudslinging,” and after reports that his campaign was throwing out copies of the paper that contained information damaging to Walker.

Walker left the university not long afterward.

When this thing is over an impeachment process must be initiated or the people with some common sense should push for recall/ vote of no confidence leading into emergency elections to replace them. I know this has happened in the past in TX and that is no excuse to continue such childish antics. I think all states should have a rule on legislators they must be present for votes. If not their vote is null and the State house will vote with them or without them WHEN legislators deliberately leave the state.

Founding Fathers must be turning in their graves right now. They had the courage to put their lives on the line and stand for what they believe. Look at us today now “we” run and hide from a vote!

Imagine the outcry if republicans would have done this when the dems controlled all 3 branches on the national level when it came to the health care vote. This should end with jail time for every one of those politicians and impeachment proceedings bottom line.

Good luck – Wisconsin is a progressive state, meaning anything like that was probably wiped off the books.

What the progressive senators of Wisconsin have now done is set a new precedent that it is fine to break the law and/or any oath you take. This mindset is why the founders questioned whether America could rule herself. There were dirt bags like this back then, but just not as many.

Hope all you dumb asses that voted for progressives are proud of yourselves.

      ENCINOM:

At least have the stones to qualify your statements accurately. When you misleadingly state that these leftist senators are “standing up for the working people of Wisconsin”, have the stones to accurately define who “the working people” are.

What you loons conveniently withhold from your statements is that the “working people” in your world are government workers. In Wisconsin, there are 300,000 of them. Besides the fact that 300,000 state workers in a state of 5.5 is ridiculously high, the cost of ONLY INSURANCE to the Wisconsin taxpayer is 22,000 PER GOVERNMENT WORKER. 22,000 times 300,000 (simple calc even for a lefty) is what? And, why do government workers – who produce no good – deserve such a ridiculously generous medical plan? Then, there’s the current pension contribution, which is what, 12.5% of their bloated salaries? What do most private sector workers get that incidentally have no tenure or job security, yet produce actual goods? 1 to 3% of their salaries matched into a 401k, which is not guaranteed like a government worker’s pension?

You’re an idiot – pure and simple. I hate to name call, but how can anybody with a conscience defend the way government workers are treated? It’s near treasonous. You’re destroying the country with your greed.

What rights is this bill taking from “unions”?

Is the State Legislature of Wisconsin a “Union” in form?

These 14, being a part of the States “union”, are breaking the “Union” rules/code of conduct and work ethic so are in violation of the very thing they say they stand for…..How embarrassing for you and them!!!!!

to ENCINONOM and any other wannabes here on site….If the unions were a little bit pro- common sense, at all, we would not be in the fiscal position we are now in. I have worked in an environment where there were union workers and contract workers, doing the same job. The contract workers made &3.00 less per hour than the union men…Supposedly, the hourly difference was to compenste the dues and other union expenses. The job I had was to audit and rate production levels and quotas daily. Contract labor was 20% more efficient per dollar, across the board. If Management could have legally breached their union contracts, they would have, in a New York minute. I was told years later, that the company was swallowed up and forgotten.
I’ve seen both sides and I KNOW exactly what is going on with the unions. To me it looks like pure greed. It is a power trip and as such is most certainly corrupt.

Compenstion for govt. workeers should not exceed the average compenstion in the private sector, categorically.

I’ve read a couple of posts here that state these wisconsin senators are protecting the rights of “the people”. I hate to be the one to break it to them, but “the people” , are they, that put the conservative majority in thIs body. Tyranny is defined in one way as ‘the minority rules.’ If these scheming devils believe in what they are doing, by defying the majority, (as have Obama and Pelosi), then they need to be prosecuted. There HAS to be some legal recourse. If we can find it, maybe we could try to use it on other shameless, thievin’, progressive abortionist scum.

For whoever reported or deleted my post…. olo ….. Some sign language for ya….

      Two solutions:
First hold the vote with out them. I’m sure in the state statutes there is a way around elected servants who run and will not show due to knowing they will lose. If special appointments/elections need be done do it immediately.

Second if you can’t vote without them or hold appointments quick enough, then shut every part of that state government down until they return. If these 14 idiots are willing to sacrifice the whole state of Wisconsin for their small minority then let it sit on their shoulders until the whole state demands their return.

There is no difference in the 14 who cowardly left and Whoopi and Joy walking of when Bill Oreilly was on the view. These 14 are traitors to their state Constitution and to the people of Wisconsin. They should be treated as cowardly traitors…..

Let me dumb this down for the State Union Lovers!!!!! Here are the facts you don’t get:

      1) The average teachers wage in the State of Wisconsin is $60,000.
      2) The average teachers benefit compensation package is $40,000. (Pension, healthcare, etc)
      3) Wisconsin has one of worst rated Public School System in the Nation (sorry but these are testing facts, not mine).
      4) Currently there is more money being paid to teachers then going into classrooms.
      5) This bill is not Anti-Collective Bargaining of wages/salaries ONLY with respect to (benefits, i.e. pension and healthcare).
      6) If the bill does not pass then those complaining about their Collective Bargain “RIGHTS” being taken away must not understand that the other consequence is, the State will be FORCED to lay-off 5,500-20,000 people.
      7) State employess wages are paid with TAX PAYER dollars, not Union money. They work for me and for you.

This is not complicated math, or thought, or reason.

Please forget whatever class you have yourself in (Republican, Democrat, Union Member, Black, White, Muslim, Teacher, Janitor, Martian, etc.) is SOOO not important anymore. The only thing that currently matters is fiscal responsibility.

WE must stop allowing State Unions to demand that our States give something they DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO GIVE. WE must stop allowing State Unions to threaten the people they work for.

Finally, shame on the 14 Democrats in Wisconsin that lacked the courage to ‘suit up and show up”. You know the ones that ran like C H I C K E N S and are hiding in a RESORT while they people they work for are gathered in the Capitol, missing work, some not being paid, while schools are closed for kids, etc., why bus loads of Union member from other states gather to protest and riot. In my opinion, well, umm they ought to get their ‘walking papers’ first.

God Bless Governor Scott Walker and the citizens of the State of Wisconsin.

If I was a Wisconsin resident, I’d be furious at the Party of NO-where-to-be-found an looking to kick their butts out of office. They should put a rider on the budget vote to support orphan services and senior health services, so by not voting the dems will be guilty of starving orphans and wanting old people to die…it is what the libs would do if the tables were turned….
