Wisconsin Governor Not the Only One Threatened by Unions

What does it take to stand up to the threats from union bullies in Wisconsin?  Dawn Bobo knows.

Dawn is a self-described, 54 year old grandmother who runs a ‘dollar store’ in Union Grove, Wisconsin. She was recently approached by union thugs who demanded that she post their sign in her store window.

She said ‘no thanks’ and was threatened with boycotts unless she complied with the pressure from AFSCME.

Instead she posted her own sign.

Wisconsin Governor Not the Only One Threatened by Unions

Dawn stood her ground and has received an outpouring of support from the community, with some reports saying that her business has quadrupled!

What the stores in Wisc should do is not to sell to Union members period. Do a card check and if union out of here spot.
What Gov. Walker should do is start laying off workers. If that is stopped, hold a press conference and tell the voters in Wisc. that he is resigning as he can’t help.
When the Union workers destroy the state they will have no jobs. Will be good then. Ha.

Great news! More power to her & hope and pray that this will really spread all over. I’m encouraged b/c of the internet & good Consv. cable news now that we didn’t have years ago. They were used to using their old tactics of bullying, lying, bribing, etc. but now they can’t “hide” anymore. Evil groups are being exposed for the first time ever. I take this as a good sign & hope it wakes up the whole nation to do their part.

I celebrate the people like this woman! Unions have turned evil and outlived their right to exist, but Obot will do everything to protect their existence to the point of attacking the people who have no respect for union thugs! I commend the Governors of Ohio, Indiana, and Wisconsin for taking the stands they have taken! Love it and hope more Governors join the coalition! STOP THE UNION THUGS and return civility back to our country! Unfortunately the only way this will happen is to send our robot prez back to his ritsy neighborood in Chicago and his favorite neighbors, Bill Ayers and Farrakahn.

We support Dawn Bobo 100%. Unions use extortion to try and get their way…similar to democrats…but fortunately there are American citizens like Dawn who stand up to them. If we lived there, we would shop at her store as often as we could. Public employees should not be unionized, EVER…didn’t we see that with the air traffic controllers??? They provide a public service, work for the public and are paid by the public, and should not use their service or lack of service to extort support or money from citizens. Nothing more than a bunch of crooks….unions have outlived their usefulness. We are sorry to see public employees such as police and firefighters who USED TO BE IDOLIZED, taking up with crooked union leaders….I thought this type of person had more self respect and intelligence than to be used by their unions. We pray for you, Dawn…..don’t let them intimidate you!!!

No more hiding under a rock for them. Let‘s pray we all will see the unions’ true colors and that will be the end of them.

Their original purpose – to help their workers – was thrown aside decades ago – they’ve been nothing but an ever-expanding bullying political machine for years. Keep it up, boys – show yourselves in the light, and we’ll soon be saying “good riddance to bad rubbish”!

When I worked at Boeing the Union started to fail in 1986 when they won a concession from the Company that removed the right to work at Boeing without being a Union Member. And since then Union members have been ripped off by both the Company and the Union, most of the Union Management get larger salaries than the membership they represent and if they go out on strike they continue to collect those salaries. If I were a member again I would start a movement to take away those large salaries.

The problem with this that there is a big piece of the public that will read this and still think that the people who are part of unions and the union leaders themselves are in the right. They will still think that the workings of the union and their tactics are justified and that Gov Walker and the Repubs are trying to take “rights” away from workers. They never see how the union mentality has changed over the last 50 years and it is no longer about standing up for poor and dngerous working conditions. I equate it to eating peanut butter sandwiches for a year, then being given an entitlement to eat steak if your neighbor pays for it. When the neighbor can no longer pay for it and you are asked to once again eat peanut butter somehow it is the neighbor’s fault you cant have steak any more.

ETHEREAL, the reality is that THEY DO still have a place in today’s working environment. An example is classroom size. The conditions that the teachers work in are the conditions that children are expected to learn in.

      Hey Tifosa,

One of the largest union scams of all time. The classroom size argument does not fly.
I don’t know how old you are, but back before our wonderful benevolent government had the wisdom to create the Department of Education, class sizes were significantly larger. In the mid 60′s, elementary grade class sizes were routinely between 25 – 40 students.

The creation of the Dept. of Education, coupled with JFK’s earlier gift to the nation of allowing public employees to unionize, has crippled our society.

It’s just more examples of how the insidious creep of liberalism / socialism / leftism / whateveryouwanttocallitism, is destroying us from within.

Didn’t someone say something like that once? Any takers? JZS? Encinom? Akmiikeus?

Certainly, there are other factors involved. Like the moral decay of society in general, the lack of proper parenting, etc. No surprise that even these can be directly attributed to our leftward creep. (Those two words just kinda go together well, don’t they?)

      @tifosa
I do agree with you. There are certain conditions that I think should be seriously looked at and there are flaws because speaking for myself I think my child would learn better in a smaller class size which is why I send my children to private school. I know not everyone can afford that so that is not an option for many. It should be a case however that teachers negotiate with the employer and this employer should make the best effort to make the most efficient practice for all. but once again I dont see this as a “right.“ I have the ”right” to go into my bosses office and tell him that I am being worked too hard and my family and health are suffering. He also has the “right” to tell me to go find another job if I dont like it. Wh ydo you think class room sizes would get larger? Seriously, I ask because many people would have a different opinion on why this would happen. I think that a reason so many schools consolidate is because there is less money to go around for teacher benefits which in turn results in larger class sizes. Mishandling of these funds are what caused the problem.

All public employee unions should be made illegal. There is absolutley no need for empolees of the taxpayers to have a union. If they do not like the condiditons of employment like virtually being unfireable, higher than average wages, evrey holiday off, and the benefits that the taxpayers can afford and are willing to pay for, then they can find another job. I am sure there will be plenty of peolple willing to take their place.

As bad as the public employess union members are, the teachers are worse. They are self-centerd, money hungry, and don’t give a rats ass about their students, nomatter what they say. What other job besides congress, do youu get 2-weeks off for CHRISTMAS, a week for spring break, nearly every holiday, and the entire summer off in addition to personal days and sick days. The rest of us shouldbe so lucky. What a rackett. And they never stop whining like selfish children for more. Don’t look at their overall salaries, look at their hourly rate for a true comparison. Teachers work on the order of 1440 hour per year, while the rest of us are required to work a minimum of 2080 hours a year. So when you divide their salry by the annual hours you get pay rate on the order of $40-50 per hour or more. How many people do you know that are making those kinds of wages? And don’t give me the BS about how they have to take work home at night like gradeing papers. ther rest of us professionals are often required to work 50-60 hour work weeks for no additional salary including weekends. And besides, how much homework do your kids actually have anymore? All fo this for an outcome that is sinking fast as compared to the rest of the industrialized world. They say that “Those who can–do. Those that can’t–teach,Those that can’t teach–become school administrators ,And those that can’t administer–run for the school board.” And thus is the crux of the problem. Ii call it school system incest.
