Witness Says Hollywood Shooter Yelled ‘Allahu Akbar!’

Hollywood Shooter Yelled

A deranged man pointed his gun at more than a dozen, and opened fire at random drivers and pedestrians in Hollywood Friday morning. The Los Angeles Times reports that some thought the gunman at the intersection of Vine Street and Sunset Boulevard could have been part of a Hollywood production, until Los Angeles Police Department officers fatally shot the man down. The Times reports:

“The attacks began about 10 a.m. south of Sunset, police said.

A young man in a white tank top was spotted walking up the street yelling and firing a handgun in the air. He then turned to firing at passing motorists who seemed to be picked at random, including the man in the Mercedes, police sources said.

The gunman was eventually shot by a detective and an off-duty officer who may have been working on a movie set nearby. Police have so far found no motive in the shooting. In addition to a gun, the attacker also displayed a knife during the incident. “

The gunman was identified later as 26-year-old Tyler Brehm. He shot three people, including one 40-year-old man in the jaw who was driving a Mercedes, and is now in critical condition.

The Atlas Shrugs Blog reports the disturbing development that few news outlets are reporting one witness’s claim that the shooter was screaming “Allahu Akbar.” This KTLA 5 report has the witness making the claim at (2:37):

Atlas Shrugs notes that  Reuters, CBS news, The Hollywood Reporter, and KFAI reports all missed the “Allahu Akbar” detail.

Witnesses said that officers repeatedly told the man to drop his weapon before fatally shooting the gunman. AP reports that while shooting, Brehm was screaming that he wanted to die. In addition to the man shot in the jaw, two other people were treated at the scene for minor injuries. One man suffered a grazing wound to his left thigh when a bullet passed through his car door. Another man had minor cuts from broken glass after bullet struck the driver door where it met the window.

      Walkabout, that’s a stretch. Someone with going on a killing spree and a death wish of their own isn’t playing games. More than likely, they’re motivated by a conviction or by despair. When you’re in that state, I doubt very seriously you’re trying to add damage to the Muslim stereotype.

      This was nothing more than a suicide by cop. Yelling what he did, if he did, would only further incite violence upon himself. I he were really a terrorist, he would have gathered up some explosives and walked quietly into a crowd of people and detonated himself. This man was deranged for sure, but he was not a muslim extremist terrorist. And for that matter, he was not a terrorist.

      As I was taught, a terrorist is someone who tries to control the actions of a gov‘t and its’ legal system through terrorizing acts of violence. If you don’t make any demands and just go around shooting, you are possibly a murdered, you are a psycho, but you are not a terrorist. The word terrorist should be reserved for the cases where the definition fits only. To use words out of context, especially words like this, dilutes their meaning and then soon we’d be calling every person who posts anti-gov’t remarks a terrorist.

    He deserved to be shot while handling the gun. However, news reports state he only had a knife when they shot him. I was not there, however, I still wonder why a taser could not have been used.

      For those who are out of the loop or uneducated religiously in the different food-laws of the main religions…
      “Kosher” is the lawfully prepared, kept, handled, and even sometimes rabbi-blessed food standard of the Jews.

      Halal is the Muslim version.

      I got my guns legally. If they want to try to come and take them they can. Try to take them I mean. What the hell has happened to our country? I went into the store, showed my I’d,filled out the papers and paid my money. Had to be walked to my car with the ammo carried separately .My husband served during the Vietnam era. Guess we aren’t due any respect. I thank him for his service.

    No surprise at all, that the main stream media (deliberately) left out the most important aspect of this crime; The shooter was yelling “Allahu Akbar”.
    If the shooter had been a Southern Baptist yelling “God is Great”, the media would have made those words the focal point of the story.

    Well, there’s just too many people in the world but I suspect science will be taking care of that pretty soon when they accidentally release plagues or God does it.       it is unlikely anyone will read this amongst the trolls and infiltrators trying to make the GB crowd look nothing more than hateful bigots… but, well here goes.
      “There are good people in every religion.” There, I said it.

      I have no problem sending anyone, of any religion, who wishes to destroy or ‘change’ America from what it was set up to be: Free, to any other country that they wish we were more like.

      But any blanket dismissal or exportation of a group simply based on belief system will end up hurting not only the innocent, but the America ideal as well, and that’s something I will not allow to be injured.

      There is no quick answer to the problem. It is individual change that is needed. We need to change this nation to a place of freedom and love so intense and strong, that anyone who doesn’t like that feeling, that mode of governance, will desperately want to leave on their own.

      The gates of heaven are not closed to anyone… we close ourselves to heaven. God is unmoving, unchanging, constant; we are the ones who decide where we go by what we make ourselves into.
      How about we make this nation a heaven on earth? You might just be surprised how fast hell flees…

      I think I understand your point ( WWII Japanese). Individual vs collective liberty. I also know that the Japanese felt fundamentally racially superior to the rest of mankind. I believe there are decent people that are Muslim. I also know that Muslims/Islamists feel fundamentally superior to every other faith/religion on earth.

      Both bent on conquest/world domination.

      So, is it best to ignore the real or imagined threat? Is there no threat to world “peace” (if that can even reasonaby occur) because of religion? Is history wrong?

      Sorry, but when I see what Islam is doing to France & England….oh yes, & the entire Middle East/North African MURDERS & GOVERNMENT TAKEOVERS it makes me feel guilty and that we should all be more tolerant.

      Maybe you haven’t noticed Islam being popularized & made to seem mainstream & passive. What was it? oh yes, Ft. Hood was “workplace violence” not a terrorist act.

      I must be a bigot because I don’t believe that Islam is a friend to the U.S. fundamental ideals…particularly religious ideals. I like Ben Franklin, George Washington, & T. Jefferson’s God. I think that‘s the God we’re to allow freedom of worship, not a “god” that desires martyrdom or takeover of worldly empires.

      Just my opinion.

      But please take note…I don’t call you names or say anything negative about you personally. This bigot is willing to debate…if you can raise a valid point.

      I am so disgusted with the way supposed Christians at the Blaze REJOICE when someone dies and goes to hell. I do understand rejoicing when certain people die (like Hitler for instance) but I don’t rejoice in anyone going to hell. It is eternity people. Eternity with no glimmer or hint of God’s presence. How can people be happy about that happening to some poor shmuck on the street, muslim or crazy person, whatever he was. I will not feel glee thinking about him burning in hell.

    Don’t believe it when they say that this is another case of “Work Place Violence”, this is a clear case of intersection brutality, the pedestrian clearly just lost his patience while dealing with all those crazy California drivers at Sunset and Vine, it’s common for pedestrians suffering from “Intersection Brutality” to start yelling “Allahu akbar” as loud as they can and shoot at innocent drivers and their fellow pedestrians. This is not “Work Place Violence” or terrorism by a lone Jihadist, it is defiantly “Intersection Brutality”.

    Try this. I now carry a small mini 5 shot 22 magnum everywhere I go and its always there. Its not much more than a set of keys. I have a colt 45 but I have become extremely happy with my mini magnum. Others who own one say they carry it everywhere. Its really easy and no one knows you have it even in summer. A 22 magnum will do the job and it is accurate to 50 ft.

    IF that is what the man indeed shouted, then we are seeing the rise of another problem; of what may be a mix of growing domestic radical shooters, and maybe international radicals being brought in as well. I would not put it past Mr Obama with his M Brotherhood links to allow them to come in and cause more chaos so he can bring the iron fist down.

      If this is a symptom of what is to come, Hollywood would be high on the list as it represents everything radical Muslims hate. It is hard to believe that so many in Hollywood could be so blind, endorsing Obama, with no regard to the consequences of Sharia Law. They may live in a parallel universe on their sets, but in the real world they had better wake up. And where are the ‘OH’ people?     Just one more reason we the people need to be armed at ALL times !!!!! You never know !!!!! I never leave home with out it……. just like my wallet !!!!!!

      The news station I was listening to reported this ” In Hollywood a man was shooting at random cars screaming KILL ME, the police came in and did just that. ” I chuckled at the way the station reported it. Next story…..

      You have that right. I’m not a fan of any animal suffering though, so I carry a 45. If you think about it, how quickly could/would this have ended if there had been an armed citizen? As it were, it was someone off duty that put him down. How long before the police would have shown up and what kind of damage could this man had done in the mean time.

      “Police have so far found no motive in the shooting. In addition to a gun, the attacker also displayed a knife during the incident. “ Well…….. If he did yell “Allahu Akbar” I believe the motive is obvious.

      I disagree. they are humans who have been mislead. Would you not favor turning them back to Christ rather than killing them outright? I know that may not be an option but if given the chance would you rather kill or save?
      We have to be better than the muslim faith. We must love first and try or we are no better than they are.
      Disagree? Go ahead and spew your hate. You know I am righteous in my stance.
