TRENTON, N.J. (AP/The Blaze) — Gov. Chris Christie has suspended two members of the North Jersey District Water Supply Commission, including Albert Manzo, the husband of of one the reality television stars of “Real Housewives of New Jersey.”
According to Christie, Manzo lied about his residency during his nomination hearings, claiming he lived in a brownstone he owns in Paterson, but he and his family actually live in a home located in Franklin Lakes.
“If any of you watch or know about ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ you know where he lives,” Christie said.
Manzo defended himself, saying that he has an apartment at the Paterson brownstone and often stays there overnight.
Christie also suspended Michael T. Cricco who was paid for attending commission meetings while still on the clock for his $80,000-a-year job at the Schools Development Authority. Cricco was fired from the SDA on Wednesday after the governor said Cricco ignored an order to use only personal time to attend the meetings.
Manzo and Cricco abused the public’s trust, he said. The Republican governor is asking the two to resign from the commission or face disciplinary action.
Christie has in the past called on numerous regional agencies and commissions to reform, but they remain out of his jurisdiction as the state’s top executive. He has introduced legislation that would grant the governor more control over the agencies, criticizing them for becoming “patronage farms.”

When you clean up New Jersey, can you clean up Chicago? Then you can work your way right to Chicago Northeast in Washington, DC.

Posted on March 17, 2011 at 11:05pmSlight clarification from this wording in the article …“claiming he lived in a brownstone he owns in Paterson”… It’s not A brownstone, but ‘The Brownstone’, which is the name of their family owned restautant/event venue (www.thebrownstone.com). No doubt Albert probably does overnight there on occasion, but obviously not the primary residence. Chris Christie for President!

I’m not a big fan of snarkiness. I think there’s plenty to criticize without taking it the extra step, but I don’t find HAWT to be Troll-ish at The Blaze.

Posted on March 17, 2011 at 10:45pmI hope that Chris Christie feels “ready” to run for President by June. Our Country needs a Leader to run this Country – not whatever it is that we’ve had in the White House for the past two years.
We also must make certain that the Socialist Democrats are the minority everywhere, including the US Congress.

Not as long as Christie is governor. That won’t last forever, though. There needs to be some sort of oversight, but not hands-on so much, for correcting such situations.
Wonder what they will do with Manza? That is fraud…probably among other things.
Report Post »Tertius G Himmelreich
Posted on March 18, 2011 at 2:01am@Showtime: Agreed, there should be oversight, but not centralized on the governor, that’s just shortsighted & arrogant. Even if it’s Chris Christie, I have a problem. To me it shows Chris Christie’s true colors more brightly. It’s a shame, really, I liked him for a while.

Report Post »If the White House is not smart enough to get the meaning of the 2010 elections then they are defiinitely not smart enough to get the meaning of this video. Maybe if we changed it up and put it in very very simple one syllable words, then maybe they might start understanding things. After all, when his only “claim to fame” before he became president was as a community organizer, I’m sure that even one syllable words might be too complicated for him to understand as well.

‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ family has ties to rubbed out ‘Tiny’ Manzo
BY LARRY MCSHANE
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER
Monday, April 27, 2009
They live in a land of made men and unmade beds.
“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” are coming next month, with the latest installment of the hit reality show introducing a quintet of Garden State gals – including two with a mob pedigree.
Sisters Dina and Caroline Manzo – they married a pair of Jersey brothers – provide a real-life link to “The Sopranos” for the Bergen County-based program.
Their father-in-law, Albert (Tiny) Manzo, was executed mob-style in August 1983, after he and Gambino family soldier Peter A. Campisi were suspected of skimming from a mob casino on Staten Island.

Posted on March 19, 2011 at 8:56amChristie is not a pleasant or measured person, and seems unduly mean to others. I think he feels defensive about his appearance. I remember he verbally abused (took apart) a 60 year old questioner at a Meg Whitman rally that turned out to be a leading Orange County Republican millionaire – she lost that shoe-in Republican county! Our beloved Governor Palin thinks his “courage” is manufactured… Sarah recently chided Governor Christie as “easy to make hard decisions when you have to” – she said it’s “not courage” when you have your back up against the wall and when you “can use an excuse” like, “golly, we are going broke.’
