Woman Claims TSA Agent Reached Up Skirt and Violently Frisked Her

“When I got on the plane all I wanted to do was sob.”

That’s how Grand Rapids, MI airline passenger Ella Swift explains her state after a recent enhanced TSA pat down.

“The female officer ran her hand up the inside of my leg to my groin and she did it so hard and so rough she lifted me off my heels,” she tells WZZM-TV. “I think I yelped. I was in pain for about an hour afterwards. It just felt excessive and unnecessary.”

Swift says she was singled out for wearing bulky clothing — a skirt. The TSA confirms that people can be singled out for that reason, but tells WZZM that it investigated Swift’s allegations and determined that agents acted “appropriately and respectfully.”

Some, however, are upset about the TSA’s enforcement of its bulky clothing policy and how some Muslim women have found a way around their bulky headscarfs (or hijabs) being patted down.

Recommendations on the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) website encourage Muslim women to take advantage of a loophole in the TSA screening procedure. If Muslim women are selected for additional screening because their hijabs are baggy (like Swift’s skirt was accused of being), CAIR tells those women to “request to pat down your own scarf, including head and neck area, and have the officers perform a chemical swipe of your hands.”

According to the TSA website, “removal of all headwear is recommended but the rules accommodate those with religious, medical, or other reasons for whom removing items is not comfortable.”

Laura Ingraham, sitting in for O‘Reilly on Thursday’s “Factor,” interviewed a CAIR representative about the guidelines and specifically the loophole:

      Ellesi, Thanks for coming to our defense. I will say it is not necessary though. I fought commies in the ’80s and terrorists all my adult life. I did it so he would have the right to speak and enjoy all the other freedoms God has given us and is ratified in our Constitution. Even indoctronated by the people who want to take them away, he has the right to say whatever he wants about my service. God bless you though.

      In case you didn’t know, the Hijackers came from Saudi Arabia. Why did we invade Afghanistan and Iraq? Afghanistan supposedly because Osama was there. Ok, suppose he was. Why send the whole military after one guy, or even 50 guys? CIA could handle that in cooperation with Special Forces. Now, what about Iraq? No WMD.       I don’t suppose any of you know who Zbigniew Brzezinki is, and you almost certainly haven’t read his work, but before you spout off about me being unpatriotic for voicing my concerns regarding the motives for war, perhaps you should, as Glenn insists, do some research. Start with Z.B., then the Caspian Sea region in general and the pipeline in particular. You do that and then tell me I’m out of line.

      And Oathkeeper, I can see how my previous comment seems harsh. I am sorry if you were personally offended, seriously. But, I suspect you, if anyone here, may understand the intricacies of the geopolitics of that region, and, therefore, know where I’m coming from.

      Please allow me to respond. Your right, most of the hijackers came from Saudi who were trained in Afghanistan. We went there to clean out the Taliban who supported and sheltered AQ. No WMDs in Iraq? Guess again, I was there and they were there. Sorry friend but you were lied to by the media again. They just weren’t in bulk as we expected and those found were deemed classified. Wikileaks released a lot of it (but not all) not long ago though. Maybe you should that out.

    Want to stop it? Enough people stop flying for a few days and see how fast the TSA does a turn-around. As with most things in this country this is a good thing gone bad. It seems that anything good is hi-jacked by a bunch of over zealot morons with not a hint of common sense between any of them. Example: No guns in school, “0” tolerance. A great idea right? Then the morons are set loose and poor little Johnny is expelled for bringing the rifle he got for Christmas to show his classmates. Oh, did I say the rifle is plastic, three inches long and is best suited for his G.I. Joe action figure. Another over zealot moron busts poor little Johnny for having loose Tic-Tacs or an aspirin his mommy gave him in his desk. Why? “0” tolerance for drugs in schools. You know, societal “experts” say we’re a more compassionate, civilized population now. Maybe so but look what that breeds. I like the good ole days when an over zealot idiot started spouting their B/S someone would just smack the snot out of them and common sense would rule the day.     The simple thing to do is not fly. People don’t have to fly. They can make arrangements that will let them take a bus, train, or ship. If enough people don’t fly then the TSA and airports will get the message. But you just complaining about it and getting on the plane won‘t don’t anything to stop the harassment. .

      You are correct. I have been on a commercial plane since ‘06. I felt violated going through security even back then. My family and I are leaving West Texas for Orlando as soon as I get off work. Can’t wait. It’s a 20 hour drive in my 33 MPG vehicle (yes it is gas only) and I am looking forward to the drive. Love the outdoor scenery and the drive is half the fun of the whole trip.

The problem is that most Americans will do nothing but complain and whine but will not buckle down and take some drastic or self sacrificing steps to change things. I have refused to fly anywhere, even if my mother passes away, I am not going. She won’t notice that I am gone anyhow.

      I have enjoyed many trips to Canada, Driving over the past 10 years. I will not fly as long as it is safe for me to drive, I refuse to giveup my liberity in lue of supposed security as B. Franklin stated. When the airlines are taking care of their plains properly and come up with a screeing which I would not go to jail should I screen someone on the street I MAY fly again, unless there is a family emergency, or required for work.

      You are correct if we don’t fly Obama and the government can’t dehumanize everyone with these illegal searches. The question I have is why are they doing this now? Why is there so much discussion, so many videos and stories now. Here is a possible reason for Obama imposing the new TSA molestation regulations. This is the busiest air travel time of the year. With all this publicity about the unlawful TSA grope searches a few weeks before Thanksgiving (the reporting started last week) a lot of people that would have flown will now drive. This will greatly reduce the revenues of the airlines and may make several become insolvent. If enough of the airlines are on the verge of going out of business Lord Obama can save the day and take over the airlines. Like when he took government control of GM and Chrysler he will not want to but must take over the airlines for the good of the people. Obama and Cas Susteen have us all upset and blaming the Muslims on one hand. On the other hand people are livid with TSA employees as if they are doing this on their own without orders from the highest levels of the government. Now they have people angry enough to not fly and this will only hurt the airlines that have nothing to do with the TSA regulations. Then before we know it while we were looking at the things they want us to look at the government will own all the airlines. Air America will not be a bad radio network no one listened to, it will be the only airline in America.

      True, ultimately it is always a choice. But for some people who have to travel for work, it is a choice between giving up their 4th amendment rights and keeping their job. A three day business trip can turn into a two week trip by car or bus. Our whole travel paradigm is now based on flying, and that’s pretty tough to change overnight. That’s why people are still flying, and that’s why the government thinks they can get away with this.

    My neighbor spent 3 months in jail for patting down a sixteen year old. This isn’t any different. I wouldn’t want my 15 year old being lifted up off her heels. What the flip????? I cant believe people are actually O.K. with this!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    My first response to this is to not fly anymore, but in the slim chance I have to fly……. this 5′10″ 250# woman will just strip to my bra and underwear to show them nothing contraband is on me. But how long til they want to do cavity searches if people become okay with the current TSA screening???

      Let me give you a few facts about the Muslims, who you think are so peaceful. Fact 1) Muslims kill anyone not of their own religion, especially Christians. Fact 2) Muslims are not peaceful. The entire religion is meant to take over the world. Fact 3) READ SHARIA LAW! It goes against everything you stand for, Obama_2012. Everything. It allows for the stoning of women if they leave their house without their family.

      Yes, some Muslims are peaceful. Yes, not all Muslims are evil. Yes, I’ve had muslims friend. Just like with everything in the world, you should base your judgement on someone on previous experience and the person itself.

      Now here is a story for you. My step-mom is from Lebanon. You know this country, yes? Or is it not on your radar? Anyways, my step-mom to this day has fears of poisoning on her food an must wash everything she eats at least three times because Muslims would poison her food. She has lost family and friends to Muslims just because they were the Christians living in Lebanon. Do you know what apartheid is? That is happening now in the Middle East.

      Muslims kill indiscriminately. Do you remember the video of the reporter having his head sawed off? What about the Christian Aid Workers who were killed because they were Christian? I know it may sound odd to you but most of what you have seen or heard is not what has actually been happening in the Middle East.

      Until you have first hand accounts from people who have witnessed the atrocities, you will remain in the dark and believe what you want. You can hide from the truth, but the truth will still be known by others. Those of us with the truth will continue to try to relay this truth even if you do not wish to hear it.

      These intrusive body searches do not work for all kinds of bombs. Some plastic explosive would not be caught and body cavities have been used to hide bombs. This is all for show.       Obama_2012, You need to get your facts straight. Many of us were against the patriot act to include Glenn Beck. True, he first thought it was a good idea until he read into it and changed his view. I as a member of the military disagreed with violating the Constitution from day one.       I called my congressman’s office to ask who suspended the 4th amendment. I want to know what elected or appointed official did this and by what authority. I was told they were leaving town, sorry, but couldn’t help me.

      So we’re on our own folks. Our congressmen don’t seem to have any plans to defend our rights. The stories of abuse keep coming and get worse every day. This has to be purposeful. There is no other explanation. They are painting us into a corner. What will we do?

      Heaven help us.

      The draconian measures taken at the airports is completely insane. A determined bomber will get his payload on the plane if he wants, even with this invasive screening. It is impossible to make it 100% safe, and nothing life is 100% safe anyway.

      The fact of the matter is, if they did ABSOLUTELY NO SCREENING at all, you would still be more likely to die in a car accident, or getting hit by a drunk driver.

      If it were not for Americans developing the resources for Muslim oil and then paying for that oil at a price set by OPEC, the Muslim world would all be wondering around in the desert scratching the dust looking for food instead of building suicide bombs. Let Islam offer an olive branch to the rest of the world and maybe then we could live together in harmony. If they want to kill their women, let them but, don’t kill ours.       Obama_2012 – you are railing against the Patriot Act, yet no mention of how Obama has kept every single remaining provision in place since he came into office? You can rush to blame Repubs since they implimented the Act, but your side has had full control over Congress and the White House for two years, and not a peep about repealing any portion of what remains. You are probably one of the many Dems who have no issue with the FCC expanding it’s authority on internet content as well. The FCC will be keeping much closer tabs on you and your personal information than the Patriot Act ever did. Oh wait, I guess that’s different since the Dems are behind the FCC push.
