Woman Rolls Through TSA Screening in Bra, Panties, and Wheelchair

Imagine the shock on the TSA agents’ faces when Tammy Banovac showed up for her flight on Tuesday in Oklahoma wearing only her bra and panties and sitting in a wheelchair. Now imagine the look on their faces when Banovac failed her screening because nitrates, used in bomb-making, were found on her wheelchair.

That’s exactly what happened in Oklahoma City yesterday.

Undeterred, Banovac rolled up once again to a TSA screening checkpoint this morning wearing her black undergarments — this time, however, no nitrates kept her from catching a 7 a.m. flight with her dog to Phoenix:

Banovac told NewsOK she chose to wear her underwear because of an unpleasant experience two weeks ago at airport security. She is typically hand-searched at airports because she uses a wheelchair, she said, and she felt violated by the more invasive searches employed at airports recently.

“If it happened anywhere else, it would have been sexual assault.”

i am confused, you arrest a man for stripping down to his boxers, but not her. what is the difference? okay, besides that!!! it seems that if you show up half naked it is okay, but if you take off your clothes to be searched it is a crime. welcome to the new way of governing, we can change the rules any time we want . this is what you call a double standard and George Sorros would be proud. WAKE UP PEOPLE THIS IS A SET UP!!!!!!!

If you had been following all of the negative reports from the last two weeks, you would know that the TSA has been changing the rules, day to day, location to location, and even for different situations. A mother with breast milk pumped for her baby showed the TSA agent their own regulations about the screening and bringing it on board, and they said they didn’t care. they weren’t going to follow their own policies. They made her pour it into smaller containers and then they irradiated it. She missed her flight home.

Halfabrain, I agree. In the military, we were told not to follow unlawful orders, or you’d be in trouble along with the person that gave them possibly. If I were TSA I’d refuse to do these 4th amendment violations to US Citizens.
…and you watch what the ALF-CIO does when they union-ize the TSA… they will change the rules in our favor and claim what heros they are… and all the sheeple will cheer… and the unions will control our rights even more. The Federal Gov’t is working FOR the Unions (bosses) now, not the people… And this looks like an Overton Window does it not??? REFUSE THE SEARCHES AND THE NAKED SCANNER!!! They will tell you you can’t fly unless you do what they say, and maybe delay until you miss your flight, but they CANNOT make you give up your 4th amendment rights! Not yet anyway… DON‘T let them naked scan you and yours and certainly don’t let them lay a finger on you or your children for God sake…!!! Go striaght to the airlines and ask for the manager and file a complaint with them. If the airlines tells you to go through the violation/sexual assults, call the sheriff and complain about TSA AND the Airline, and file charges. Wouldn’t that make the airline an accomplice? If everyone refused to take these violations on site, and I mean everyone, then how long do you think the airlines will put up with it??? They will lose millions.

Sexual assault is defined on http://www.attorneysearchnetwork.com as “any sexual activity such as intercourse, penetration, touching, or any other act that is nonconsensual.” – Key word is “Nonconsensual” so, if you allow them, it’s not assult of any type, so don’t give them permission. …and if they touch you, it’s assult. If they assult you, file charges with the local Sheriff.

@1776FEDERALIST — She seriously may want to avoid having her genitalia touched (who doesn’t?), but this is still a seriously silly thing to do. I‘m supposed to believe that she’d rather go through the highly public airport wearing nothing but a bra and panties? She may not want any hands on her, but she definitely doesn’t mind having all those eyes on her.

I have sympathy for handicaps as well, and I also have sympathy for everyone who’s been inappropriately groped at the airport. However, I think showing up at the airport virtually naked does nothing constructive. Just my opinion. I can’t help but think this is more of a stunt for attention, rather than change – and it’s going to encourage more inappropriate behavior when folks realize this kind of thing will get you on TV or other media outlets.

(i would know i have them do our lawn at my complex once a month with fert. and most complexes and businesses do to

Well, if you think the kids is gonna be shocked by a woman in bra & panties, the poor little tyke will need a lifetime of therapy after having some big, hairy TSA goon putting their hands in the kid’s own groin and fondling their “junk”.

Sort of seems similar to a mother in an old west town in the late 1800s complaining that the town needs to do a better job of cleaning up the horse manure in the streets so as not to be offended when she and the little ones go to the town square to watch a lynching.

Just seems wrong to complain about kids seeing someone in a reduced state of attire when the parent is about to allow a stranger to do “bad touching” and/or even undress the child. It would seem just wrong to have a child there under either circumstances. I would think the underwear-wearing fellow-flyers would be about the least offensive thing going on here.

Sure the screener is supposed to be of the the same gender, but are they gay? That would be no different than a grope from the opposite sex. And don‘t forget they don’t change gloves in between gropes to different people. If the have a disease, the virus or bacteria can be spread that way. @ mrlogan3

I respectfully disagree. I suspect she has to travel and has decided that if she has to do it, she’s going to make a statement in so doing.

I commend her on taking a stand.

I’ve decided that my family will not fly until the gate rape policy goes away. I have two children under 10, and rounds intended for anyone that molests or takes pedo pics of them.

That said, I don‘t care what Big Brother’s excuse is. They can‘t feel my kids up because won’t let the TSA take pedo pics of them.

As to myself and my wife? For 223 years, the standard for search & seizure has been probable cause and a warrant. We’re not criminals and flying is not a criminal act. That said, there‘s no probable cause to pat me or anyone esle down and I don’t see any judges at the gates, do you?

Aside from that, despite Big Brother’s assertions otherwise, a person has an expectation of privacy as it pertains to their body, particularly in the case of a person being forcibly compelled to have nude pictures taken of them in order to recieve a service. If it wasn’t the government actually doing it, they’d be prosecuting the person who was.

Here’s the more rediculous aspect to this whole mess: Someone that holds an active Top Secret clearance has to go through a Single Scope Background Investigation (including polygraph analysis in many cases) that goes back seven years and gives every aspect of their lives a figurative miscroscopic proctological analysis.

After all that, you‘re gonna tell me they’re deemed to be enough of a threat to other people that some TSA agent that holds the gutter-level “Confidential” clearance can pat them down because they’re supposedly a threat?

Final thought: What happens when they get send the first rectum bomb through, or *ahem* “strap-on” a bomb inside of a ballistics gel mold shaped like John Holmes’ “implement of destruction,” to get it past the pat down? Are they going to perform strip searches and rectal exams on everyone trying to fly? Where’s the line?

This is asinine. OK, my rant’s done.

OMG i was thinking the same thing. The way her head sort of tilted left and right over and over and she has this deadpan stare. It was a bit creepy.

      @Rightwrite.
No, not a cig. she pulledout her book of ZigZag Orange, pulled a sheet out and rolled a ganja smoke.
It’s illegal to smoke cigs in the airport. Weed is quite OK.
All TSA screeners are under doctor’s care. the ganja is for medicinal Perp-ous.

      @Polwatcher.
Yes! They checked the dog, they thought they saw some PETN running around, but it was only white fleas.
A TSA agent said terrorists have develop a strain of PETN that mimmicks fleas.
      Can’t be too caeful nowa-”daze’.

Sorry, but look at the tone of her leg muscles. Her calve muscles are too defined. Even her midriff is not one that you’d find in someone who lives in a wheelchair.

This is all for attention. She’s not wheel-chair bound outside of this airport schtick. And that dog is not a service dog. You can bring a dog on flight as long as it’s crated and under your seat.

Expect more of this attention-seeking from insecure people that crave their moment of fame on YouTube.

remember when they first introduced more tsa agents? they said they were there just so we had extra eyes looking for any terrorists.
look what it has morphed into.
seems to me that EVERY time the fed comes up with a good idea, it starts out small so we’ll accept it, then it runs away with itself.

I cringe to see that the majority would much rather witness the the TSA put their hands down her pants/jeans and grope her breasts. What she is wearing and displaying is a brave stand for her rights not to be belittled in front of the public. Either way she is going be humiliated. She is just taking control of which way the humiliation will play out.
Modern television allows more crude language, and dislplays of sexual prowess, than her simply wearing a thong and bikini top. Children will be exposed to gay teletubbies (sexual orientaion shouldn’t be an issue at a young age) and other sex driven messages on t.v. that should gain the attention of the public, first and foremost.
      Snowleopard was right….U go girl!!!!
