‘Workers of the World Unite’: Wisconsin Civil War Monument Defaced in Protest

Much of the dust has settled since the peak of labor protests against Gov. Scott Walker’s budget proposal in Madison, Wisc. But while most of the protesters have dispersed, the clean-up continues.

In the latest video out of the embattled state capitol, a man struggles to remove graffiti from a memorial statue honoring Hans Christian Heg, a Norwegian-American Civil War soldier who encouraged Wisconsin’s young “Norsemen” to fight and protect “the government of our adopted country.” Leading the 15th Wisconsin Volunteer Regiment, Heg declared: “It is our duty as brave and intelligent citizens to extend our hands in defense of the cause of our Country and of our homes.” Heg was wounded and died during the Battle of Chickamauga in 1863.

Wisconsin blogger and law professor Ann Althouse was at the capitol building earlier this week to capture the images and the response of some lingering protesters — one of whom curiously insisted, “That’s why we need better teachers.”

Here’s a quick way to explain the Union/Liberal organizational structure…

In a union shop the most incompetent moron becomes the Shop Steward to keep him/her out of the way of the productive workers who know what they’re doing.

Among the Stewards the most self-absorbed blowhard becomes the Union Rep.
The biggest thugs of all the Reps are given senior leadership roles.

The greediest thieves in the Union Leadership are promoted to Organizers.

Finally, from among that shallowest of gene pools, the biggest Communist turd will float to the top…

and they spend all of their members dues and our taxes to get him elected President!

At the University of Wisconsin you learn to blow up buildings. I wonder if there is a big call for that profession? R.O.T.C. anyone?

This is what happens when you tell every single high school freshman that they are a failure unless they get a (expensive) college degree. They then, after buying the sheepskin, think that they deserve to be paid for existing. Not all of them of course, some become productive, the ones that should never have gone to an institute of ‘higher education’ end up as teachers, government drones, or any number of ‘professions’ in which they can collectively delude themselves as to their importance to society. They feel they earned it, not by what they produce for those who pay them, but just because they exist.

Public servants are not proletarians exploited by greedy capitalists. Public servants work for the public. The public pays their generous salaries and benefits. Over-compensated public servants who pitch temper tantrums and insult the public are biting the hands that feed them. If anybody is being exploited in this scenario it is the taxpayer. One wonders how these “protesters” manage to keep straight faces in this parody of Marxist class warfare. The obvious reason, i.e. that they honestly do not know any better, is frightening.

wow, not a communist slogan? What do workers have to do with it?
Seriously? That is sad and he is in denial.
That is why we need better teachers, because people can not recognize the Communist Manifesto when it is staring then in the face

I think a new monument should be erected somewhere near the state capitol (on private property) honoring the noble union protesters in Madison. It should be made of steel-reinforced concrete, at least 11 feet tall, modeled to replicate a toilet, and should have a rusty iron plaque prominently displaying the motto ‘Overpaid, Underworked Public-Employee Union Pigs of the World Unite’

Then, when the stupid union thugs show up and try to destroy or deface the monument, they can be photographed in the act and the police can be called to enforce the law. And since the phone calls to the authorities will be recorded and witnessed by law-abiding citizens, if any derelict union-sympathizer pig-cops fail to respond or enforce the law (i.e., arrest the trespassers for vandalism, assault, etc…) this can be recorded on video and MULTIMILLION DOLLAR lawsuits can be successfully brought against the union thugs, pig-cops and the city.

Kind of like baiting a field. But you can bet the stupid Communist lefties in Wisconsin couldn’t resist.

Since there was some discussion at the beginning of the video as to the source of the phrase “workers of the world unite” –

from wikipedia”The political slogan Workers of the world, unite! (German: “Proletarier aller Länder vereinigt Euch!”, literally “Proletarians of all countries, unite!”), is one of the most famous rallying cries of communism, found in The Communist Manifesto (1848), by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. A variation (”Workers of all lands, unite”) is also inscribed on Marx’s tombstone.

Did you notice how quickly they blamed the teaparty, when anyone with any common sense knows that the union thugs have dominated the area around of the capital for the last month. And if it was a teaparty person why didn’t one of those “Noble Union Thugs” stop them. I‘m so sick of these people they just keep poking and we’re getting real tired of it.

President Obama is a fraud and a socialist. His words and actions seldom meet, but his failure to give the citizens of this country a full account of his past (other than books written by him about himself), when questioned, is prima fascia evidence that he not only has something to hide, but that he is not fit to serve. The issue of him being a Natural Born Citizen, born in Hawaii, or born in Timbuktu, or being our most intelligent President, has nothing to do with his qualifications to serve all the people, all the time, and uphold the Constitution. He has proven through both words and actions that he dislikes this Constitution, and intends to turn this country into a socialist state. We can not wait until the elections of 2012 to remove this “cancer” of a President. He must be removed now, or this divide will further widen, and so many persons will be reliant on the dole from the taxpayers, that the “Producers” of this country will quit, and there will be no base from which to draw the money needed to keep the “show” going. The result will be total socialism, and if you think the chaos associated with the removal of Obama would be too much to deal with, get ready for the life and death struggle as the economy “crashes”, and there is no “light at the end of the tunnel.” Read up on The French Revolution, and get a look into our future.

This was so obviously done by the unions that it is ridiculous. The lengths these people will go to is sickening and disgusting just as they are. To deface a Civil War monument is as despicable as the unions are. The unions are nothing but a bunch of selfish evil-doer cry babies. They have become a disgrace to and a boil on this country. They need to be destroyed just as they have destroyed the states with their outrageous demands that the states can no longer keep up with.

Hi Glenn, on the program today, 3.23.2011 you suggested that the banks contributed actually caused the financial meltdown by lending money to people who couldn’t possible repay it. In addition to that you were saying that Unions are somehow responsible for our country to be broke.
If I may be so bold and challenge your handler’s assertion that the downturn was caused by the disadvantaged citizens and the “overpaid” union members.
I am telling you this with some certainty; the downturn was caused by the leaders of our industries and our political leaders. The conspiracy you are suggesting is wrong it is actually the other way. The pillars of our business communities conspired with politicians to bust the unions.
I’m not expecting to change your mind; after all you are given your daily talking points just like the rest of the shack jocks. Only thing you need to do is look at the “made in” labels around you.

If it is found out who did the vandalism –and someone knows who that animal is– that individual ought be mandated by the Court to pay for the cleanup–and for the
