World’s First Biblically-Based Facebook Game Launches

Hexify Releases Journey of Moses Facebook Game

Move over Farmville. There’s a new Facebook game in town. Hexify’s “Journey of Moses” takes players on an adventure of Biblical proportions. In remaining true to the original story, the adventure provides players with an entertaining and educational experience.

Considering the fact that millions of people play Facebook games, the makers of “Journey of Moses” have an opportunity to penetrate a vast and diverse market. In addition to reaching people who don’t know a great deal about the story, the game is likely to attract individuals with a genuine interest in scripture. CNN has more:

Moses is a cartoon with a big head, a small body and beady black button eyes with a spiky grey beard and spongy grey hair in a new game on Facebook. [...]

At the beginning of the game, pharaoh’s daughter, reminiscent of a Cleopatra bobble-head, picks up a bundled baby Moses and cradles him in her arms.

Once a user agrees to the game’s terms, he or she can invite friends to participate in learning more about the life and journey of one of the world’s most famous religious figures. Plus, the game is free (of course, there are options to purchase various elements that enhance the user experience). The Christian Post provides more information about the game’s contents:

At the beginning of the game, players take control of a young Moses who is being summoned to a meeting with Pharoah, but he first needs to find clothing that will make him look more presentable. From then on, gamers will walk through Moses’ life, which includes his exile from Egypt, his encounter with God at the burning bush, and his return to Egypt to lead the Israelites to freedom.

But, if you’re a fierce competitor, this game may not be for you. In the end, “Journey of Moses” doesn’t have any winners or losers. Instead, the game offers players the opportunity to engage in an exploration. The game’s creator, Brent Dusing, says it is “A bit like Zelda merged with the Moses story.”

Advancing into the abyss and progressing in the game is dependent upon players making friends and collaborating with others. This is the only way users can experience different parts of the story.

“Journey of Moses” marks Hexify Inc.’s third Facebook adventure game. Considering its interesting subject matter, it is sure to gain the attention of a great many individuals. The creators claim that the reception has been quite positive thus far.

Have had many requests to join other games on Facebook, but they didn’t seem interesting. Finally, I may play one! About time there were Christian Games! Amen and God Bless All!

If we can abort babies why is it such a double whammy to run pregnant mothers through with sharp objects? i should only get penalized once correct?
I was kind of hoping that we could burn athiests at stake in the game, it‘s gonna really disappoint me if I can’t do that!

Neat idea about having a Bible game about Moses. Working together is good but if the game gets to be about what happens if people do or don’t follow the Ten Commandments then there really should be winners and losers.

Beware of agreeing to security terms with ANY game on Facebook. Even though I am a Christian and would probably love this game… I would not accept the security/privacy agreement.

  If you actually READ any of the agreements that you have to agree to and I believe they are on this site to you WOULDN’T do anything anywhere on the web that is interactive..I don’t have time to play games on facebook..as I already play 3 people in wordfued on my phone..LOL.. but I think it would be a GREAT idea for kids to learn young.. maybe someday they can get the whole bible up there a little at a time..

More white supremacist GARBAGE… There is no anthropological way that Moses was a white man, and neither were Abraham or Solomon and Queen Sheba. For the past 500 years, white folks have had their time to shine. What did they do with it? Stole America from the natives, stole vast amounts of technology(electronics,battery,light bulb) by tomb raiding in Egypt. Stole South Africa from Shaka Zulu and tried to kick out blacks, slavery, dropped a nuke on Japan twice. Still stealing food out of Africa and shipping it to Europe while Africans starve(Don’t believe it. Research!!!) And I could go on…

Now the white mans’ goal seems to be, change history(by destroying evidence) to take credit for every invention or discovery of religion. White folks can’t even be in the sun without burning alive, so what makes you suckers believe that Moses and the prophets before him in SAHARA AFRICA were anything other than BLACK!! I think white folks are just desperate to prove themselves worthy.They have not created any new religion(except Mormonism ad cults), and their main trait has been deceit, thievery, and violence. Melanin is the key that unlocks the truth on the ancient Israelites and Egyptians. Sorry white people, you don’t have melanin, so you couldn’t use an ankh or other technology Egypt had back then. Melanin makes the skin ELECTRIC. That’s why Europeans have been trying to suppress people of COLOR.

  What makes makes this Moses look white? I might be able to buy into even a piece of your argument if you could justify it first. Honestly I can’t get a race from those illustrations. You can’t pick it up from the eyes and the skin is ambiguous enough to point to be muddled. If you are saying middle eastern is too euro-centric for you, well, I disagree. Moses was from an Israelite line and that would make it rather difficult for him to look like anything but middle-easternish.

Let’s think about that statement for just a minute. We have all been trained to be a “team player”; that it is better to consult others re: decisions; majority rules; that a consensus of a group or team is the best possible solution. But is it, really? What happened to the individual thinking for him/herself? Making decisions base on facts or just simply acting on a gut feeling?
The reason I bring all this up is because in the explanation of this game I was reminded of a jr high class curriculum back in the eighties that trained children to think not independently, but in a collective, consensus kind of way. I remember it disturbed me as a parent.
I don’t know if this game is geared for adults or children or both, but sounds to me like it has the same subtle behaviour modification techniques thrown in.

Just a thought.

How sad is it we have to be “suspicious” of everything! Satan is after all very subtle! My youngest took a class in 5th grade on self-esteem (also in the 80′s) and promptly informed us he HAD A RIGHT to fail 5th grade if he wanted to! That’s when we informed him of what RIGHTS he REALLY had!!! Read very short book “The Children’s Story” by James Clavell…it will quickly open your eyes!

  Avoid the Game and keep thy head into scripture. Educate yourself in the Mosaic Law, do as God has instructed us, bring others to know his word. How much time have we spent in the Old Testement? The average church fails to touch it. We need to read it ourselves.
  
  God said man should not be left alone, now there he goes chasing some fantasy on the computer, alone, hours spent away from learning from God Himself about Moses. I suspect the game will be another mans invention to manipulate the reality of Moses.
  
  Real men play the real game, reading instructions from the Holy Bible, bringing others to know him and to do the same.

  Looking at it from a perspective of someone who follows video games and their evolution, Biblical games have always been pretty laughable in terms of keeping up with technological advancements specifically graphics and playability. SInce graphics aren’t really a big deal when it comes to facebook games, they more than likely took the route of collaboration because that is what is popular in video games right now. These games succeed not by “Group Think” but when everyone thinks for themselves and then work together, not unlike real life.

  I think there are times for both – thinking for yourself and being in a group situation and coming to a consensus while bouncing ideas off people. We don’t have a 12 person jury in our judicial system, for example, for no reason.
  The point is, this is just a game. Don‘t get so carried away with whether a game’s development cause people to stop thinking for themselves. I hardly think that’s going to be the case.
