Would-Be Purse Thief Drags 88-Year-Old Woman With SUV

WISH-TV:

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis police hope the public can help them with a frightening attack on an 88-year-old woman.

Today, IMPD shared surveillance video in the hope someone will see something that helps solve the crime.

The video shows the Kroger parking lot at 46th Street and Arlington Avenue, on Jan. 12. Alda Faulkner is seen walking toward the store at around 2 that afternoon.

First, you see her move over as if to avoid a station wagon turning near her. Police say there was a little conversation between Alda and whoever’s in the car. Then, someone inside grabs her purse and starts to drive away.

But, Alda held on. She wound up being dragged a bit, and then fell to the ground. Police say the snow provided a little cushion for her.

This is seems to be a trend.  A few days ago we told you about a similar incident involving a 78-year-old in the San Diego area.

This happened to 2 ASU (Tempe AZ) to two young female students in seperate incidents a few years back–ONE was dragged to her death-her purse was entangled in her arm. The young girl that lived was my daughter! A group of hispanics “bumped” her with their car-grabbed her shoulder bag-stole her personal driver’s license, credit cards, and cash. Desperate times and deperate people take desperate measures!!

I used to abhor guns. Not for political reasons. My ex-bf took me to a shooting range once, and the noise factor was what turned me off. Ten years, a husband and two children later, I’m seriously considering learning to handle a gun so that I can concealed carry. I’ll just use noise-blocking ear thingys when I go to practice.

So the punishment should be the same, although in reality some attorney will play the “they had bad childhood” card and the all black jury picked by the same scum attorney will exonerate them.

This style crime has been all over the news in the past few months, but for those who’ve not heard, ladies keep your pocketbooks hanging around your necks IN FRONT OF YOU on your stomach until indoors, and this won’t happen to you too.

Since Florida made CCW more available, crime has gone down. The Progressives forget that many times just showing the weapon stops the problem as when the punks attacked the guy on leave from Afghanistan with his wife at the movies. They attacked it in front of a small crowd, who stood by and watched, but when the guy ran to his car and got his weapon they backed off. Then the police arrived they fought them. Guess they know the police are less likely to fire on them. Also when can I carry, and I do legally when I can, Progressives are safer since the bad guys don’t know who is carrying.

I have yet to see anyone place a sign on their lawn or on their person saying “gun free zone”. They know enough that such actions would be an invitation to violence against them, but they certainly don’t see any problem with disarming every law-abiding citizen. I have never figured that one out, since if the good people are not allowed to be armed, the bad guys know they are fairly free to rape and pillage. Just saying.

In the case of the SOTU speech, maybe a grid map for the big guns? Though I feel letting a flood of skunks and angry badgers, plus a wild pack of coyotes and javalinas into the place as the doors are welded shut may be a heck of a lot more entertaining.

I still think the republicans should sneak in whoopy cushions and put them in the seats of the democrats when they get up to clap for Obama

Republicans need to sit on their side of the aisle. Dems never suggest anything co-operative unless they have an alterior motive.

I saw this story and the person in the car was asking for some money and the woman was going to help them. When she took her purse off her shoulder and opened it, they grabbed it and took off! Such a shame as she was one of the good guys just trying to help a person in need. (so she thought)

I agree about the .38, but these days we are being hounded over gun control, the perp would have just sued the poor woman, and he would have gotten away with more than her check book and denture cream!

God above I pray for her to be alright, and for the idiot who did this to be swiftly caught and given the full extent of justice deserved. To steal from anyone is bad enough, to also drag the woman along with her purse is beyond reprehendable to the extreme.

Seems like this “purse snatching,victim-dragging” theft is happening more and more…Hey America…remember what Obama’s dictate to us was?…We need to get busy INVENTING things! Welp…here’s your chance! Someone needs to get busy on a new “break-away, anti-mugging, quick-release“ purse strap”…yeah…that’s the ticket!…AND…I’d just bet that Obama will personally see to it that you get yourself a big, fat “gobernment” grant to get started! Ain’t capitalism great? Forget about stopping the crime…no, no no…waste of tax-payer time and money…you all “jest git busy” now ya hear?

Vigilantiism is the only way, the criminal justice system has FAILED. Perps and attorneys know how to play the game, cops hands are tied, prison and jail is too cushy. Good men need to start taking matters into their own hands.

Those that prey on children and elderly people are the lowest scum on the earth – those who can’t fight back (altho sometimes the old people do win). I’m glad she had snow to cushion her fall.

      @OOKspay

That is exactly what the progressives want, they want us to descend into vigilantism and rioting to be able to excusably crack down upon the nation and take the final steps needed for control – final and absolute control.

@Snowleopard On this site you are a brother to me, like minds on most things…I am not advocating anarchy and I agree the progressives want an excuse. They are the ones who have allowed this lawlessness by stacking the courts with liberal judges and hindering the police. People used to police there own areas very successful, then came lawsuits and trial lawyers, so now people just don’t get involved. Vigilantism works every where it has been allowed, shame and pain is all it takes.

@jds7171. There are places in America that make mexico look like Valhala! True, noble and righteous vigilantism requires public involvement and support (snitching). Warnings, forced relocation and then booooom, no more crime!

The current system of criminal justice is nothing more than routine maintenance, no deterrent value, criminals simply are not afraid of cops, courts or jails, to them its all a big joke and worth the risk. Once the risk reward factor has been balanced crime will drop fast!

For the record, Ookspay thinks all victimless crime laws should be revoked and this country has way too many laws, also part of the problem. Once again, the further you get away from a problem the harder it is to solve, LOCAL solutions, no Federal laws!
