Would You Perform ‘Mouth to Beak’ Resuscitation?

One veterinarian did, giving “bird CPR” to an injured bald eagle and saving its life.

It happened while the eagle, nicknamed “Patriot” was under anesthesia during physical therapy on Wednesday. He stopped breathing, so Bend, Ore. veterinarian Jeff Cooney stepped in to perform “mouth to beak” until Patriot started breathing on his own again.

According to the Associated Press, two women found the injured eagle near Crane Prairie Reservoir in June. The eagle had suffered, among other injuries, a dislocated shoulder and paralyzed right leg.

Cooney said he doesn’t know whether he will be able to return Patriot to the wild. If the bird‘s foot doesn’t improve in the next three weeks, Cooney says he could be forced to euthanize him.

These people have crossed over into the world of self genocide and insanity, they have chosen animals over humans, they have chosen logic over global warming position, and they have lived thru which in any other century but these last two would have been a witch lynch. They are Nucking futs!!!

Well all I can say is I’m as conservative as they come, I don’t believe in anthropomorphic global warming and my wife and I run a wildlife rehab center. We’ve successfully rehabbed multiple eagles to release. You’d be surprised to learn that there are probably as many conservative rehabbers as there are left wing loons.

FREEWEAVER….Did you ever stop to think that maybe……… just maybe this veterinarian values life? Lives of both people and animals. What would you have done?? You probably would have just stood there and watched one of God’s magnificent creatures lay there and die??? I hope not.

Trying to give us TEA party people a bad name ehh? Since when is it crazy for a member of the only species on the planet capable of resucitating anything, to try to perform such act on a member of an endangered species and the symbol of our nation? BTW, I don’t believe in anthropogenic global warming and I do believe that there is a very big difference between an animal and a human. As Penn has said, I would personally strangle the life out of every cute little chimpanzee in the world if it would save one drug using street walker with aids. Human life definately stands above animal life, but if you have the chance to save an animals life, why wouldn’t you take it? You just sound angry and ignorant.

There must be some other way to do CPR other than mouth to mouth. I believe we can invent an instrument that could do the same job. But good for that man for his act of mercy on that eagle.

I’d give a pig mouth-to-mouth before I’d lift a finger to save an America-hating liberal socialist progressive. Sorry, but that’s my honest sentiment!

This is moronic! It’s a bird, not a person.

What a waste of time and resources. Save the pets of paying customers, instead.

And of course, as John Stossel reiterated, if you want to grow the population of bald eagles, then you should find a way to make profit off of them, such as killing them for food – because “More hawks, fewer chickens; More humans, more chickens.”

@Doctor’s Labor, aren‘t they the Vet’s resources and time to “waste”? Do we need to tell him what to do with his time and resources? Is he not free?? Does this somehow make him unable to work for paying customers? Is he somehow obligated to only do things for paying customers?

Yup, it’s a bird. A bird that symbolizes freedom. Good for the Vet for trying to help Patriot.
