Writer Stages Her Own Rape...to Ease Her PTSD

Writer Mac McClelland

Mac McClelland, a civil rights reporter who found herself deeply impacted by stories of rape and torture, decided that she could remedy her developing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) by…staging her own rape. Her emotional distress allegedly began when she was working in Haiti following the infamous 2010 earthquake.

While in the devastated nation, McClelland met a woman who had been raped and violently brutalized. The Daily Mail has more:

After Ms McClelland, 31, accompanied her to the hospital – where the surgeon who performed reconstructive surgery on her told her she was a slut and deserved what she got – they were on the way back in a taxi when [the woman] saw one of the men who raped her.

Ms McClelland recalls that she went into a ‘a full paroxysm – wailing and flailing in terror, screaming with her eyes rolling in abject terror’.

McClelland had seen violence across the globe in her work, but there was something different about this particular incident. Though she has experienced nothing of note herself, before long, McClelland found herself trapped and combatting the horrifying symptoms of PTSD. According to ABC News, these included, “avoidance of feelings, flashbacks and recurrent thoughts that triggered crying spells. There were smells that made her gag.”

With these symptoms creating cause for concern, McClelland sought professional help. According to the Daily Mail, during her therapy, the downtrodden reporter explained that, “all she wanted to do was have incredibly violent sex.” Thus, her therapist suggested she find someone she trusted to do it with and she complied. ABC News has more:

Her sexual partner mercilessly pinned her, beat her about the head and brutally violated McClelland — at her request.

“I was not crazy,” she told ABCNews.com. “It was a way for me to deal in sort of a simulated, but controlled situation. I could say ‘stop’ at any time. But it was still awful, and the body doesn‘t understand when it’s in a fight.”

McClelland wrote an entire piece for GOOD Magazine (warning: explicit language and sexual content) about the experience entitled, “I’m Gonna Need You to Fight Me on This: How Violent Sex Helped Ease My PTSD.” In the piece, the writer describes, in detail, her struggle with PTSD, and the graphic details of her “rape.” She writes:

We hadn’t slept together in a while, and although we couldn’t get along as a couple, we loved and respected each other, blah blah. So here I was making a date to catch up with him over fancy pizza, and then drinking tequila neat. And there I was asking him if this was a sleepover, right?, and being pretty nervous about what my stupid brain was going to do when he got into my bed.

As soon as we were making out, my violent feelings started welling up. “I’m gonna need you to fight me on this,” I said.

…And with that he was on me, forcing my arms to my sides, then pinning them over my head, sliding a hand up under my shirt when I couldn’t stop him. The control I’d lost made my torso scream with anxiety; I cried out desperately as I kicked myself free. But it didn’t matter how many times I managed to knock him over to the other side of the bed…When I got out from under him and started to scramble away, he simply caught me by a leg or an upper arm or my hair and dragged me back. By the time he pinned me by my neck with one forearm so I was forced to use both hands to free up space between his elbow and my windpipe, I’d largely exhausted myself.

The details go on from there. The reaction has spanned from disgust to praise, as some believe McClelland has taken focus off of Haitian victims and placed it on herself. Others, though, contend that her writings are “heroic.” Either way, the writer now claims that she eased her PTSD through the simulated rape.

      Not really- she‘s not very cute and that’s probably her best picture from glamor shots.. She also goes by Mac. It makes me wonder if the “he” in her story isn‘t really named ’big sandy’…

      - — – I can understand PTSD from seeing first hand the tragedy of the earthquake, but by her own admission, she WAS NOT raped.

      — — Why would PTSD resulting from the earthquake devestation translate into that? Doesn’t make a bit of sense.

      – — Key words here: STOP and SIMULATED. Sorry sweetie, true rape victims don’t have that option & they are certainly not raped in a simulated environment. With those options firmly planted in your mind, you didn’t experience anything remotely resembling true rape.

      And, what kind of man would do this? She doesn’t indicate discussing the scenario and asking him to participate in advance. She knew what she was planning – he didn’t – when she asked him to “fight her on this”. And he did – apparently still not aware of her “therapy” plan. He didn’t stop when she screamed, didn’t stop when she tried to run away etc.

      I wonder if she found out her magic word [stop] wasn’t so magic after all.

    Most of the staff where I work consist of far left leaning libs, former PETA employees, New Age gurus…. and this woman sounds just like a lot of them. They have more issues than the NY Times and some of them are just nuttier than an outhouse rat.

    I would have to say that I feel that she did this because she was flaky enough to get turned on by the incident(s) she described and felt ashamed that she felt that way so she found someone that would justify her having done to her what she saw being done to others. I would probably imagine too that she had to “shop around” until she found someone that got turned on to her stories as much as she was so that the “therapist” would “prescribe” this type of therapy to her to do. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was checked out close enough that the therapist performed a simliar escapade (if a female therapist she had it performed on her as well or if a male, he found someone that would allow him to act thas way to the person that he found. In other words a flaky liberal sex addict found a flaky liberal sex addict to counsel her.

    She could have worked hard to find a way to turn that negative energy to good by helping combat the horrors of rape for others instead of inflicting it on herself. There are women who wake up with nightmares about a REAL experience who are desperate for help and to wipe the feelings and senses of that experience from their minds- this woman willingly did this to herself to “ease” her PTSD? That is a very twisted way to cope…and a very twisted therapist to suggest such a thing. Take that heart-wrench that you feel for victims and pour it into the battle against rape- not into self abuse.

    Mac McClelland fails to follow through with the entire process of what rapped women experience. She needs to report the crime to police who question her and cross examine her. She needs to describe her assailant without smiling. Go to the hospital and be examined, be subject to a rape kit. Get photographs of wounds. More questioning by police investigators.

    McClelland is doing a diservice to rape victims by displaying her situation as, that wasn’t that bad. And she’s going to do it again.

    This “thing” who is cashing in – actually getting paid – on a truly horrible and difficult to overcome affliction, and trying to use this malady as an excuse to enjoy her sick, twisted sexual cravings is, plainly and simply, a whore.

    She is offensive as a human being, as an American and – most especially – as a woman.

    How dare she peddle this b*llsh*t and undermine all those who have to actually suffer with PTSD in order to justify her own, sick, desires!

    If she was fixated on being murdered would the therapist have advised her to find someone she trusted and have them kill her?

    Listen. I have seen PTSD, (not Charlie Sheen’s Hernia) and (if you get that reference you know what I mean). And this woman does not have it.

    She is crazy as the night is long, a lady in the street and a freak in the bed to be sure, but her disorder is not post traumatic.

    Her picture is a little unsettling as well.

      I can understand being stressed or depressed after the Haiti earthquake, have you seent he before and after videos/photos: http://tiny.cc/ny1xq , but PTSD, I don’t know and about violent rape, I have to say no, that is just me though.

      Sooooo she has PTSD from simply HEARING about rape? and from talking to rape victims? Ummm I’m going to call that a bunch of tree-huggin-hippie crap! That’s so much BS I need to wear chest waders. I’m going to say the TRUTH of this is this woman is freaky kinky and the idea of being raped over time became very arousing to her. She didn’t do this to ease her PTSD, she did this because she’s a kinky little minx, and she decided she could make a name for herself by writing about it and just twist the reason a little bit.

      And here she is, with her article on the blaze and all of us talking about it. She wins.

      False accusations of rape against men by women are common. The flimsiest of false accusations by a woman can cause a man’s arrest. False accusations can be devastating to a man’s self-worth and his career. Such false accusations are a crime, and also a form of sexual assault, yet police and prosecutors almost never prosecute false accusers. Men wind up gender profiled and falsely accused by the taxpayer funded, domestic violence/rape witch-hunt industry, because of gender feminist ideology controlling that industry. Domestic violence and rape will never end as long as “the whole truth” is misrepresented to comply with gender feminist ideology.       Thats what happens when weak men aid in giving women credibility beyond their accountability. This couldn’t have happend without men in power holding male guilt capitulating to henpecking, belittleing, guilt tripping, sex starving, cold shouldering, etc… Feminists pull out all the stops and spineless, unprincipled, selfish, ignorant men give in, so as not to offend the fairer sex. Makes me sick. Realistically speaking, this has as much, if not more to do with the decline of our nation than almost anything else we focus on.
