WSJ: TX Governor Rick Perry Will Enter 2012 Presidential Field

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that a “normally reliable Republican source” has confirmed that Texas Gov. Rick Perry will run for president. However, the source says Perry may not enter until early August.

Despite the news, the Journal says the official word from the Perry camp is “maybe.” The WSJ reports:

Our normally reliable Republican source reports that Mr. Perry has surveyed the field and decided to get in the race later this summer, perhaps around the time of the national prayer meeting that Mr. Perry is hosting on August 6 at a Houston football stadium. Our source also reports that Mr. Perry is aiming to compete in the Iowa Straw Poll, even though it occurs just a week later, on August 13. The thinking is that apparent front-runner Mitt Romney “does not reflect the Republican Party” and is therefore vulnerable to a credible challenge from the right, especially after Mr. Romney’s recent squishy remarks on global warming.

“We don’t have to cloak our intentions, because we don’t know what our intentions are,” Perry campaign adviser David Carney, who was one of the main advisers who quit Newt Gingrich’s campaign this month, told the WSJ.

Reagan did it for 8 yrs. Fighting the Democrats, Progressive Republicans, and the Media.

Palin is not Reagan. She doesn‘t possess anything near Reagan’s depth of knowledge. He studied these issues for decades before he became president, once debating Robert Kennedy over soviet expansion in the late 1960‘s and giving speeches on the effects of health care entitlements in the early 1960’s. He served two terms as governor of one of our largest states, and came to the job of president eminently prepared for it. That’s not Palin.

Yes, OddBall, you’re right. Rick Perry is the best hope for the country…for those that dream of establishing a New World Order and a one-world government. From my honest viewpoint, Rick Perry is actually the WORST presidential candidate for the country, and here are the reasons why:

      1. Rick Perry signed an excutive order that forced female teenagers to undergo an injection of Gardasil.
      2. He used eminent domain to make room for the Trans. Texas Corridor.
      3. He failed to support a bill that would hold the TSA agents accountable for their unconstitutional searches and seizures.
      4. He is a member of the globalist group Bilderberg. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90jfQrb4wAE

He‘s increased Texas’ debt by $40 Billion since taking office.
He is a former Democrat who campaigned for Al Gore.
      Belives in global warming
      Soft on Immigration
Allowed the Texas education system to plummet into one of the worst in the nation
Supports in-state tuition rates for children of illegal immigrants

That’s just the tip of the iceburg. This guy is the definition of a big government, spend and tax RINO. Voting for this guy only takes votes away from other contenders, and will strengthen Romney’s numbers by taking out the competition.

////1) He entered politics as a democrat and helped Al Gore’s campaign.

He *was* a democrat. He headed up Gore’s campaign efforts here in Texas. The following quote from Perry is all over the net:

“Going through that (Gore experience) was part of what started me through the process of changing parties in 1989,” Perry said. “I came to my senses.”

////2) He pushed the dream act, possibly to get the hispanic vote.

The TEXAS Dream Act is different than the federal version. It was focused on tuition only and passed with zero “no” votes.

////3) He signed a mandate into law that would make all young women have to get a STD vaccine.

Yup, he did. Ticked a bunch of us off, but the legislature took care of it. Texas has a pretty liberal opt-out rules, allowing for religious, medical and philosophical exemptions, so no one who really wanted to avoid that terrible vaccine would be forced into it. (still, why!?)

////4) He had to be begged by lawmakers to endorse the TSA no pat down bill.

The Anti-Groping bill kind of died when Obama started threatening Texas. I don’t think Perry *wants* it, but a lot of folks here do, so he put it up for consideration in the special session.

I am not a Perry apologist, nor am I anti-Perry. Our state is doing well with him in the Gov‘s office and I’m mostly happy with the way things are here in Texas, but I’m undecided on him as a Preside

CommonsenseTexan… your not using the common sense Jesus gave you. Get over the Texan thing, Perry is not a conservative! Conservatives don’t #1 force school aged girls to get Gardasil shots. #2 Don’t want to take private land and give it to foreign countries to make super highways. #3 become millionaires in office. BTW 76248 is Keller not Watauga.

Bildeberger BS ( you would have rejected Washington)
George Washington joined the Masonic Lodge in Fredericksburg, Virginia at the age of 20 in 1752. His Masonic membership, like the others public titles and duties he performed, was expected from a young man of his social status in colonial Virginia. During the War for Independence, General Washington attended Masonic celebration and religious observances in several states. He also supported Masonic Lodges that formed within army regiments.

Please let Rick be the one, but Remember:

The SOLUTION to our Nation’s Fiscal Policy is Simple:

      1) Shift up to 70 % of Washington D.C.’s spending habits back to individual States (e.g., Health and Human Services, Housing, Education, Energy, Agriculture, Labor, Social Security, etc..), then let States decide how to spend the money collected from its citizens

      2) Stop all tax collection by the Federal Government, and mandate that only individual States shall collect taxes from citizens (as originally outlined in the Constitution and upheld by the Supreme court on several occasions)

      3) Individual States will send enough money to Washington D.C. to cover the spending not delegated to the states in Step (1) above (e.g., National Defense, Foreign Diplomacy, those items originally outlined in the Constitution)

      4) Set Back and watch: States grow, Washington D.C. corruption slow down, backroom deals disappear, and our Nation prosper

We are called the United States, not the United State

Things are not always as they appear! Beware of a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Perry is a Progressive who has been groomed to appear to be a Conservative. He attended the 2007 Bilderburg meeting in Turkey and was Texas chairman of Al Gore’s campaign. He has been a Republican for only 11 years. Question with boldness and do your own research!!!

The internet is great, but wouldn’t it be neat if there were a lie detector integrated into every computer keyboard.

Start typing a falsehood, and get ZZAAPPED with a taser.

The democrat talking points are flying in this thread.

Looks like the left has their panties in a wad over Mr. Perry.

Thank you for the logical post.

      NOW LISTEN-UP PEOPLE…
We The People must choose our leader this time. Do NOT allow the Media (any of it) or the establsihment GOP choose your leader for you. We know from experience that when that happens it’s a disaster. Plus, does anyone here really think that Perry could beat the Obama machine? Be honest now.
We are about to go into the worst election season this country has ever endured. Cheating by the left is going to be on a historic scale. Between Union thugs, La Raza thugs, Black Panther thugs, Marxist thugs, etc, there will be massive cheating at the polls this go round. And for those of you that say we should all sign-up as poll watchers, good luck with that. When you show up to the polling places to work as a poll watcher on voting day, you will be lucky if the Obama thugs even let you out of your car. Oh, one more thing… who’s gonna stop them? Eric Holder is the head of DOJ and he’s already given them the green light by refusing to prosecute the Black Panthers that were using intimidation at the polls in Philly back in 2008. See what I mean?
The only way to beat cheating is by a landslide. And so far, there are no candidates, including Perry, that can win in a landslide. Heck, t

Perry signed a bill into law(forcing girls to take gardasil) that killed young women. We do not want him in the white house with that kind of lack of judgement.

We have a lot of great candidates for the Republican/Tea party. Putting aside the prejudices which tear us apart at the seams I am proud of the Men and Women who are willing to sacrifice their fortunes, honor and security to run for President. Laying aside all elitist thoughts whether liberal or conservative the best chance we have of removing Obama is Governor Perry. Why? If we back up our words and believe in God and his son Jesus Christ then Mr. Perry is in the best position. With our renewed Americanism via the Tea Party and other Conservative platforms we can shake loose the roots of the progressives who have become like weeds. There is nothing that says we have to follow Social Justice or give into the extremists or quit on God and his principles. If I want to shoot a trespasser who is on my property to do harm I will. Do I want a irritating back stabbing American to tell me what I can or cannot do? Heck no. If we the people set the standards then our politicians would all be selfless. That is not the case. Our politicians set the standard of mediocracy and righteous people falter. In Heavens namesake there is nothing lacking in our Constitution as the doubting Thomas’s fantasize. I feel that a miracle will happen in that stadium when Gov. Perry, American Texans and Americans from all over the U.S.A get on their hands and knees. When they ask forgiveness and guidance prepare yourselves for something amazing. God’s plan for us is to see if we do what he asks. This is i

All of you Obama worshipping liberals need to stop pretending to be conservative. I could care less what party affiliation Perry has or has had. This is no longer about Republicans and Democrats. It is Conservatives stomping liberal socialism into the dirt. We on the right have called you the left for too long. Henceforth, we will still be the RIGHT, but you are now the WRONG.

Some people need to do a little research. That mandate, as you people call it, never made it out of the House and Perry himself later said that it was a mistake. Get your facts straight!

OK, Rick Perry. I have a few questions I’d like answered before I can consider supporting you.
Please let me and many others know how you feel about:
      1. Bilderberg membership and what it means to you? It is about New World Order, right?
      2. NAFA (Trans Tx. corridor) I understand you were a supporter of this. Why?
      3. Gardasil vaccine for young girls. What gives you the authority to require this?
      4. Sanctuary city support? Why? Aren’t the illegals breaking Texas? They are breaking the U.S.
Please answer and let us all know where you stand? Otherwise I can’t support you.
