WWII Veteran Choked, Robbed in Atlantic City Casino

John Roman fought in Gen. George Patton’s 3rd Army at the Battle of the Bulge, but the aged soldier recently fell victim to a punk mugger who attacked Roman in the bathroom of an Atlantic City casino Sunday morning.
According to local Fox affiliate WTFX, the World War II veteran and Toms River, N.J., resident was using a men‘s bathroom urinal in Bally’s Wild West Casino when an unidentified assailant choked Roman from behind, threw him to the floor and fled with his wallet. Roman was bruised and shaken but refused medical treatment following the ordeal.
The alleged attacker could be seen on surveillance video leaving the bathroom. He’s black and dressed in a solid-black baseball cap along with a distinctive black jacket with two silver epaulettes on the shoulders. He also had on blue jeans and a grey hooded sweatshirt.
The New Jersey State Police are hoping the video will help identify Roman’s attacker.

But when they can no longer “take care of themselves” they often feel humiliated and embarrassed. This poor man will probably go home, sit in his chair & quietly cry when no one is looking… or have a shot of Jack Daniels & get on with life. (READ: Risked his life time after time) He does deserve a modicum of respect and peace for that service. We come home after the wars to be safe and enjoy the freedoms we had a small part in defending.
You absolutely do not have to put on the uniform to serve the country or deserve basic human respect. Maybe I am being selfish or narrow minded….. but I don’t think so. I look at it this way: War is the worst thing I can imagine, it is almost beyond imagination. Without a strong military there would be no America as we know it. None of us would have the freedom to debate or argue about freedom.
You wnt to know who HATES war more than anyone? A warrior who has been there done that.

BUT, no citizen, veteran or one who did not/could not serve rates any higher in defense from thuggery. Justice should be blind to health/wealth/position (yes, we know it’s not). As far as I am concerned that violent, heartless thief deserves no sympathy from anyone. For a crime like this I believe in the death penalty. If he had robbed me, I could have cared less. Money payes my bills but does not make me happy. When you do this to the elderly, or to a child…people who are unable to protect thmselve, you deserve the worst of punishments.

In fact, the odds are that Nobama will probably create a new department called Department of Care for the Elderly and appoint him as the director over it. It‘s too bad that we can’t take Nobama, reid, pelosi, the unions and all of their wacko friends and let them stay for the rest of their lives at the exile abode of Napolean on the Island of Elba. That would be perfect especially if communication of ANY type was not allowed to come out of or into the island. It‘s a shame that we don’t really have a place like in the movie “Escape from New York” to send them to, we all know that if they had a place like that they would be trying to send everyone that disagrees with them and the unions there. (I probably shouldn’t have said anything about that movie but I figure that Nobama, reid, pelosi and the unions already know about the movie and their plans probably to set up something similar to put all of us into.)
