WWU Takes Back Liberty University Law School Fair Invitation Because School ‘Openly Discriminates Against LGBTQ Identified People’

Representatives from the Liberty University Law School have been “un-invited” by Western Washington University to a law school information fair for the public university’s undergraduates.Liberty University is the largest non-profit university in the nation and largest Christian university in the world. The Bellingham Herald writes on why WWU decided to bar Liberty from the information fair:
“The change happened after some Western students and staff brought up concerns that Liberty ‘openly discriminates against LGBTQ identified people.’
After reviewing Liberty’s non-discrimination policy, WWU officials decided that the policy was against Western‘s and therefore the schools shouldn’t be represented on campus.”
Liberal groups are claiming victory after 100 of the university’s 13,800 undergraduates signed a petition to rescind the invitation to Liberty. The student who led the opposition reportedly met with the Assistant Attorney General for the State of Washington. Change.org writes in the “How We Won” blog post:
“Every year Western puts on the Law School Info Fair. This year the infamously homophobic Liberty University was invited to attend. Liberty was founded by none other than Jerry Falwell (the guy who blamed 9/11 on queer people and called a Teletubby gay). Good ol’ Jerry’s ideology spread to his university. They expel queer students, mark students down for taking pro-gay stances on tests, and encourage reparative therapy, which has been recognized as both ineffective and harmful by the American Psychological Association.”
The Western Front, the WWU student newspaper, writes that administrators were concerned that the invitation retraction would make WWU vulnerable to legal charges but believe the university’s nondiscrimination policy includes sexual orientation and gender identity. Thus allowing the administration to “protect students from hostile or intolerant academic situations.”
Liberty has reacted strongly to WWU’s actions, as the law school‘s Dean has said WWU’s invite retraction “raises serious First Amendment concerns.” Dean Matthew Staver replied to the letter that Liberty received from WWU by warning the public university that he has already been granted permission from Liberty‘s chancellor to take whatever legal action necessary to protect the university’s First Amendment rights. The Western Front writes:
“‘The school does not change its position,’ Staver said. ‘We will not just simply do nothing.’
Liberty University School of Law is approved by the American Bar Association and its nondiscrimination policy has been approved by the association’s standards, Staver said.
No other school has denied Liberty access in its more than 40 years of existence, he said.”
WWU administrators had invited Liberty‘s recruiting staff and other representatives to be briefed on WWU’s nondiscrimination policy, as The Western Front writes “in hopes of Liberty understanding what it could do to be invited in coming years.”

Posted on November 13, 2011 at 12:18amThe gays and the muslims seem to win all the debates since this admin pushes their agendas and does not govern for all the people of the land. It appears our gov’t & judges are becoming dominated by gays and muslims. Will marriage between a man and a woman become against the law? Will all future children have to come from a test tube; will women be made slaves to have babies for the gay male couples? Will sharia law become the law of the land? It appears that if you are not gay, but believe marriage is between a man and a woman, believe in a Creator who reigns overall, believe that America is a Christian nation and that muslims are bent on pushing sharia law onto American citizens, believe that the Constitution and rule of law were divinely inspired, you are in the minority and will be breaking the laws that these beanheads want to enforce. But don’t let appearance fool you. God fearing Americans who love this country are fighting for our rights to remain free under the laws that have been governing this country for over 200 years. It also is a known fact that muslims do not allow gays to live. It would be interesting to see which group would overcome the other if they did indeed take over America. Pray God will bless America again!

Posted on November 13, 2011 at 1:01amare you really comparing the two groups together? Gay people just want their rights, and live their lives in peace, when others discriminate against them like this of course they will bring up the issue. And Muslims are not bad people, just the radical ones, and to all those who claim that what happened at Penn State is a completely different matter. That was assault on young children, the average gay person just wants to live their life, and they are not pedophiles. All those who claim that they are one and the same are greatly mistaken. The United States isn’t being torn apart by homosexuals, it is being torn apart by people like you who deliberately discriminate and harm others. Wake up, look at yourself in the mirror, and realize that you are the one at fault in this society.

Posted on November 13, 2011 at 4:47amNo, Keen-Site. Gays want APPROVAL of their unnatural attractions. The “love that dare not speak its name” has become the “love” that won’t shut up. Notice there are no FREE sex bathhouses with heterosexual women ready to FREELY service several men a night, just homosexual bathhouses. Since they do not have a natural attraction that is tied in with reproduction & children, their lives are often sad vacuous ones based on an unnatural physical attraction.
Report Post »And NOTE that there is no heterosexual counterpart to NAMBLA; society wouldn’t put up with even the idea. The Penn St. thing is doubtless a much higher percentage in the homosexual community (like Barney‘s Frank’s boyfriend running a gay escort service out of their basement). Notice how the Penn St. perp placed himself in a “help” group that was supposed to assist troubled boys. By their actions thou shalt know them.
And they ARE tearing apart the US by mocking marriage, by adopting poor kids who get to witness Lord knows what. It is hard NOT to speculate that this is all some attempt to make a larger segment of society “open” to experimenting in their deviant lifestyle. After all, that is all most of them have – fleeting encounters. I believe I read that in a lifetime the average man has 10 sexual partners; women about 4; homosexual men FIFTY. Sound normal?

Your comments are very well stated. We are all supposed to drink the PC kool aid, and ignore the realities of homosexuality. They are not normal, and the MSM is pushing their agenda on the rest of us. It is sad to see that the masses are believing it. Gays are right around two percent of the total population, they have 64% of the syphilis, 70% of new HIV cases, highest suicide rates, commit 1/3 of the child molestations, have much higer than average alcohol and drug abuse rates, but everyone wants to believe they are just normal people, trying to get along. Every nation in the history of the world that has accepted homosexuality has fallen soon afterwards.

Report Post »The problem is that institutions like this WWU are so frightened of being called “homophobic” that they cave at the first complaint, in this case only 100 signatures out of over 13K students.
I doubt LU really gives a crap, really. LU certainly does not have a need for anything someplace like WWU could do for them, which is NOTHING. LU’s presence was an opportunity for WWU undergraduates… now, because of a handful of perverts they are being denied that opportunity.

Posted on November 13, 2011 at 5:32pmGays claim Christians are intolerant. Why does everything have to be tolerated? Aren’t there some things that should not be tolerated? Tolerance today is touted as a the highest virtue. The problem is tolerance as it is defined today, is the absence of virtue. If one thinks anything is immoral, it is considered intolerant. God does not tolerate homosexuality, therefore I do not, just as he does not tolerate adultry, just he does not tolerate incest, just he does not tolerate beastiality etc. Gay’s beef is with God, not with Christians who follow Him. God decided what was true from the foundation of the world, and all the efforts of gay activists to create their own truth won’t change what is true.

So what you gay queers are saying is the whole population should be discriminated against and should be forced to accept your gay queer perversion. Posted on November 13, 2011 at 4:31amVery valid points, which I’d like to reinforce. The pro LBGT folks are pushing hard to normalize deviant/amoral behavior. They are incredibly short sighted. Where does this lead? If we as a society have no foundation for morals, anything is permissible under the law. By what authority can the we say polygamy, bestiality, or pedophilia is wrong. Apparently if you get enough people to complain loudly enough anything acceptable. And once that behavior is normalized, the government must recognize, protect and provide it the same validity and privileges as marriage.
Report Post »The main arguments I hear in support of LGBT behavior are: 1. That’s just the way they are. And, 2. They just want to be happy, who are we to deny them happiness. So please explain how these arguments don’t support every other case of deviant/amoral behavior ?

The University is ignoring Hosea 13:16 by not showing those ivory-tower liberals what happens to those who rebel against God. Likewise it is clear that Liberty’s marriage policy has been infected by the “Homosexual agenda,” as Deuteronomy 22:13-21 is not considered important. Yes, America is going down the drain, and it is clear the blame lies with cowardly Christians.

The fact that THAT many WWU students are so easily gulled into signing shows THEIR intolerance of those with differing worldviews. Hey, students! As you’re growing up, you’re supposed to be learning about others with whom you disagree. If you keep sheltering yourselves from the rest of the world, for example, putting all your confidence on the reports of those who hate Christians, if you just want to read the National Geographic about Tunisia and never live there for a couple of years, your disposition will keep you largely ignorant of how others live and why. A regular looking into the mirror used to be one of the basic regimens recommended at schools of higher education. Why? The mirror invites you to see deeper than the superficial, in others but in yourself too. Do it and grow wiser.

The tradgety that happened at Penn State revealed the wicked postmodern moral relativistic, pluralistic and multiculturalism culture in America’s education system and has so permeated the nation’s culture because what they taught students for the last 65 years. WWU is just another institution of so called higher learning that reveals that it embraces wickedness and evil as a moral norm and so they indoctrinate all the students who attend there to believe that moral behavior that is evil is actually normal and ok. One has to have compassion for those who can no longer rationally distinguish good from evil and call evil good and good evil. We now have a government that exemplifies this quite well. .

I expect the letters to increase as they find new forms of malformed perversity that must be separately affirmed.
This seems to be the philosophical divide in the West. One either accepts the new sexual ethic or one rejects it. The tow sides will have no commonality. While acceptance of abortion twists and distorts the moral conscience, as well as the foundation of law, the gay agenda contorst Reason itself so that people who buy into it can no longer think rationally about what it means to be a man or a woman. Following gay “logic” the two sexes are themselves just illusions. The transgender nonsense is the epitome of this insanity, for in that scheme a man will claim to be a woman inside trapped in a man’s body, and vice versa. Reality becomes something that is declared from within. I feel like a woman, therefore I AM one regardless of what the outer flesh, my material reality, shows. This is in effect a denial of the reality of the material world. The ultimate Gnosticism.
We’ve seen this before, but never at so grand a scale. The Romans never fell for this idiocy in such numbers. The Empire is falling. Get ready for the new barbarians to come clean up the mess.

You’re proud of a decision to descriminate against a university because a few students sign a petition? Sounds awfully descriminatory to me.

Posted on November 13, 2011 at 1:41amAnd that is why all of my kids went to college out of state, besides Western, we have several other “sideways” oriented universities, to include the ever popular Evergreen State College, which is in fact the most liberal of any liberal arts university in the system. In Washington, Western is a close second. In Eastern Washington things are a little better but not significantly. You need to go to Idaho and Utah before things change. Montana as well. But this place is a joke. As far a majority rule, forget it. That is out the window. It’s who can make the most noise, on claim victim status. As for the Viking as a mascot, I’d think that was a little too aggressive for such a “open minded” school. But I here Tinker Bell might be available.

Posted on November 12, 2011 at 10:49pmIs not WWU being discriminatory by not allowing for the belief system of Libert?
If it were a Muslim law school would they be excluded?
Does WWU exclude religious students who believe in the tenets of their religion?

Posted on November 12, 2011 at 11:08pmNo worries..A good Muslim U would get a special invite since they kill Christians and gays…everybody must be stoned. Wouldn’t want to interfere with any of their freedoms.

Posted on November 12, 2011 at 11:16pmThe liberals are to busy contemplating their take over of America.
They don;t realize that their are many Muslim schools in America. With so many there is bound to be a Muslim college soon.
Unlike the French outfit drawing Mohammed cartoons the liberals won’t do anything here without police protection; the ones the OWS are attacking now.

Posted on November 12, 2011 at 10:45pmKidding aside, my daughter was a member of her High School G/L Anti-Bullying Society. I do not agree with everything she believes in, but I’m darn proud she stood for her beliefs. As I stand for my own…which do not co-incide with hers. {Yeah, family dinner time is always fun} lol

Posted on November 12, 2011 at 11:01pmThis is America thank God. If WWU doesn’t want Liberty University represented at their information fair, then they don’t. Who cares? WWU has univited them, and Liberty U. takes that rejection as a badge of honor. Win win.

Could anyone envision JZS publishing a satirical film about Mohammed under his own name?

Posted on November 13, 2011 at 4:58amSo if your daughter joins some Goth or skinhead or anarchist group, will you still be proud of her standing “for her beliefs?” TRY BEING A PARENT & not a friend. Help steer your children away from goofball ideas/positions; it is helpful in the long run. Anyone can & should be against ANY kind of bullying; you don’t have to join the anti-gay (special anti-bullying gay rights) one to have that position.
