Hip Hop Artist Wyclef Jean Calls Palin…‘Rad’, ‘Shrewd’ & ‘Cool’

Wyclef Jean — ex-hip hopper, former Haitian presidential candidate and self-proclaimed “Obama groupie” —  likes Sarah Palin.

Why? “Cause she’s rad. She’s shrewd. She’s cool.” And most importantly, “Because at the end of the day, I’m for the people, because this is the United States of America.”

Wyclef Jean Likes Sarah Palin

Women’s Wear Daily (via Mediaite) reported Jean’s Palin praise, which the outlet picked up on at Donna Karan‘s New York Fashion Week after-party:

Anyone should have the right to say, ‘Look I can do the job and this is what qualifies me to do the job.’ ….Now my wife probably will debate and disagree with me.”

Women’s Wear Daily goes on to report that Jean seems to become uneasy at what could be an unpopular association with Palin. He says:

“I’m not saying she could be the next president, you know, but there’s something about her. Heavy debates in my house. Whenever I say Sarah Palin, people think I’m crazy, but I like her, I do. I can like whoever. This is America, right?”

Some may wonder why this camaraderie with Palin resonates with Jean. Perhaps the rapper, who has sought to build his own political career, can relate to the 2008 vice-presidential nominee.

Unlike Palin who has successfully won elections, Jean’s 2010 bid for the Haitian presidency was turned down because he did not meet the residency requirements. He had only lived in Haiti up until age 9. Though he said, “I am being drafted to serve my country,” legalities got in the way.

We may never know the method to Jean’s pro-Palin madness, but it’s surely intriguing.

He was part of the hip hop group, the Fugee’s. Known for remake of “killing me softly.”. Other hits such as “Fu-gee-la“ and ”Ready or Not.”. Wycelf also has an awesome acoustic song called “if I were president.”. Highly recommended artist.

I don’t know if I would call his comments “pro-Palin madness”, but simply honest with common sense thrown it. Obviously he doesn‘t have ’strong woman‘ syndome where he has to demean a woman with ’strong self’. Yes, it is America but if we don’t vote carefully, and pay attention, it might not be, and comments like that might just get you into a retraining camp.

She is a good money-earner and is super smart and everything too.
She makes normal women look like skunks. No straight man could ever want anyone else.
Sarah’s Email would make every best seller list in the world, because she is just that clever, thoughtful, willingly invents new words, and is talented as a journalist and is darn good at writing too.
Not to mention her hypnotic speaking skills, angel voice and patriotic accents.

THEPATRIOTDAVE – In the Haitian culture, we are taught “DETERMINATION AND HARDWORK” are the KEYS to success. Thank God Haiti always had one corrupt administration after another, and Haitians NEVER HAD a government TO DEPEND ON!!! We had to learn to fend for ourselves and support each other. Most of us DO NOT BELIEVE in marxism, communism, and socialism. After all, we risked our lives on the high seas to come to America – and bypassed Cuba in the process… That speaks for itself! We also MUST SUPPORT ourselves here as well as those we left back home (families, friends, and our pets). We cannot fulfill those obligations by collecting monthly welfare checks…

The change they voted for in 2008 was they wanted better race relations, and they thought a bi-racial man would bring the races together. Instead, he‘s driven a wedge between them and thrown race relations back to the 60’s or further. I hope America isn’t disheartened and never votes for another black man. I like Sarah, and if she ran, it wold make a hard decision for me, because I also like Herman Cain.

      Loriann12 says…..
“The change they voted for in 2008 was they wanted better race relations”.

Whites mistakenly thought that, but many blacks never had that thought cross their mind.
Unfortunately, black feelings (not all blacks, btw) towards Whites had been so poisoned by militant radicals like J Wright (our Prez‘s ’pastor’), the CBC (which we’ve witnessed lately), Hollywood leftists, and many others, that Obama’s winning the WH had no chance to change anything with regards to race-relations.

Actually, for Whites (or blacks) to vote under that pretense was complete folly. Obama had, himself, tipped his hand on several occasions as to his true feelings. His “clinging to their guns and bible” quote was referring to rural Pennsylvanian’s, which surely were White’s. He had a history of community organizing, and was a friend of B Ayars, and had went to a black, racist church for 20 years. Did anyone not think Obama was never at Wright’s home, where Jeremiah spoke graphically about his hatred of Whites and the US? There were the videos at the church, as well. Then, of course, there were the remarks about his ‘typical’ White grand-mom.

All this came out before the ‘08 election, and Whites still voted for this man. He would have never got the WH without the White vote.

      Loriann12……
My second reply to your post is in reference to S Palin.
Though I always liked Palin, I thought she would be better as an advocate for the right, with possibly a run for the WH in 2016.
However, at this point, I see no candidate (except Bachmann) as legitimately able to energize the Conservative base enough to defeat this most anti-American of Presidents, and…………….
Palin would, without question, be the exact polar-opposite of what we have with Obama.
She is for border security and Americanism and is not afraid to say it.

My thoughts are that she is waiting….waiting to see who emerges from the field of current candidates. With the exception of Bachmann, the rest are weak, have dubious records, and many questions.

Perry’s immigration stance is deplorable (in-state tuition for illegals), and he supports the Trans-Texas Corridor (the highway from hell). Remember, he was Gore’s campaign chair, and a Dem. Why would he have ever been a Dem if he was really a Constitutional Conservative. I say he is a huckster and a fake.
Romney…..Romneycare! He will become ingrained with Washington.
Bachmann…..I just feel she has been in Washington long enough to be infected with the virus, though I trust her, in general.

I will not take wha the establishment gives us. We’ve been down that road before (Mc Cain).

      loriann12,
Trust me they see right thru it. More people are waking up every day, they see that we are being used as pawns. Honestly it amazed me when I noticed the shift a few years ago, it is happening with all of the races in our country. No one seems to realize exactly how pissed we all are. We have been pitted against each other for decades. We are all much more alike that most realize. The color of a persons skin and their origin are irrelevant. When enough people from ALL of the races wake up and realize WE built this country TOGETHER and NOT the Government we will see change. But not until then.

I’m curious as to her motivation to take down Perry on behalf of Obama. Sell out the entire country for a few scraps from the Obama table? Not likely.

Count me as also concerned about the forced vaccinations and immigration issues of Rick Perry. Taking that kind of action requires a person to first assume that the public is too stupid to decide what’s best for themselves and then secondly to think their opinion matters more and they have the right to force those opinions and decisions on others.

As far as immigration, just makes me think we’d have another 4-8 years of absolute B.S. about the border coming from D.C. under a President Perry. The border could be sealed within a week by the National Guard. We then could have an open debate about an easier legal immigration policy.

Everyone knows this, and I’m personally offended when officials actually have the gall to claim border success while openly looking the other way. The old Texas saying, don’t piss in my boot and tell me its raining applies.

Ok. How can I say this without sounding racist? I don’t mean it to be. But the hand in front of her face belongs to an Afro- American. It‘s not Sarah’s hand.

I’m not so certain. You ever want to guess at how old a woman is look at her hands. She‘s as old as I am but I’ve kinda‘ found that a woman’s hands usually are a better indication of her chronological age than her face or body. I could be very wrong but it’s my personal observation.

seems to me that the usual lefty suspects may be wising up???? I see a lot of rats running towards the conservatives because we are cool.. and they want to be with winners..nobody wants to be associated with weak people and obama is way weak.. he’s a loser and always has been.. it‘s just becoming apparent to a lot of leftys that maybe the crap they’ve been fed is one big lie.. a ponzi scheme of lies and it’s all falling down.. about time..

Not sure about this but I don’t think anyone’s face looks good blowing a kiss (bloated). As far as the color of her hand skin, remember it is the wrinkled under-side of one’s hand away from the light. Look at your hand in that condition. Personally, I still think she looks good for her age even in this photo.

I like Palin for the same reasons. As hard as the left wing reporters tried to make her look inept, she kept her cool and stayed the course. she’s a shrewd business woman, a God centered Christian, who even weeded out the corruption in her own party. That takes guts. She did great for Alaska..and has sound ideas. What he says is true…at the end of the day..she is a compassionate caring person who would take care of our people. Oh we can all put on our Saul Alinsky hats and find everything in the world wrong with her. But I love God ,and I love my country, and I love Sarah Palin.

@ Mimi24 I figured you weren’t posing the question to me directly, but if voting for her somehow counts as doing something “to” her, then I did that in 2008 — if she had not been on the ballot, I would probably not have voted for any presidential candidate. It is laughable when some say that she cost McCain votes.

I enjoy most of the stories, I get some stuff off of my chest…. And you have a point – some of the posters are amusing. Simple, transparent and obvious but still amusing. I am a very strong conservative and nothing I read here will change that but it is entertaining to watch the other side prove day after day why I am right.
