Yahoo! New Zealand Publishes Description Calling Sarah Palin ‘Evil’

Everyone knows Sarah Palin has her critics. They’ve attacked her children, called her an unfit mother, questioned her intelligence and have gone to great lengths to invade her privacy. But, a recent description on Yahoo! New Zealand’s web site takes anti-Palin criticism to an entirely new level. Mediaite has more:

A caption in a photo slideshow of “Celebrity Look-a-likes” sparked outrage among at least three New Zealand conservatives Friday night. The Yahoo! New Zealand feature contained a split-screen of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and comic actress Tina Fey, with a caption that read “Poor Tina – there’s something painful about resembling someone so evil.”

You can see the image, below, for yourself. It’s one thing to disagree with someone politically, but to label someone so definitively? Seems like Mediaite may be right in saying that “…even her most strident critics would agree that ‘evil’ is a bit of a reach.”

    I hope that this isn‘t their government’s position regarding Sarah Palin. If so, they need to understand that evil = the little Hitler of Iran, Ahmadinejad, Hamas, Syria’s Bashar al-assad, Qadaffi, the dear leader of North Korea, Kim jong-il, the Castro brothers, al Qaeda. Unfortunately, the list is a lot longer and most depressing. However, Sarah Palin may or may not be presidential material, but she represents what’s fair and good in America.

    Has anyone at the Blaze ever heard of Google and if so it took me only a few seconds to come with some of Mr. Beck’s choice rants labelllng people he disagrees with politically as evil.

    Just a few examples:
    We were just talking in the break. We found some old audio that came out during the election that Pat played for me — he’s in charge of our audio vault. And I know I’ve heard it, but I didn’t recognize the content — or the context, really until now. Things are starting to fall into place, and when he played it, I hadn’t heard it in its entirety in quite some time. And we were talking about collective salvation — it is evil. Collective salvation — excuse me for being a Jesus freak — is from Satan. Collective salvation is from the devil, not God.
    And we have some audio of the president talking about his collective salvation. His personal salvation will not happen unless there is collective salvation. That is evil.
    You put this together with collective salvation. May I quote the pope? Put the pope, Pope Benedict, here is what he said about collective salvation: Wherever politics tries to be redemptive, it is promising too much. Where it wishes to do the work of God, it becomes not divine but demonic.

      Did you actually read and comprehend what you wrote? Who was Glenn calling evil? He was calling Collective Salvation evil (which it is) not a person. Obama believes in Collective Salvation but that doesn’t make Obama evil, that makes what he believes in evil. Big difference there.

    People who allow evil spirits into their thinking, blame others, put-down people because they disagree with them, repeat invalid statistics without checking the facts, change the subject when they can not backup their statements, highlight any error of Palin/Republicans and cover-up democrats for any misgiving.

    I was in the hospital. Two nurses were changing my IV pic-line. Glenn Beck was about to start. I was trying to watch. My husband put his head in front of the TV so I would not see. He knows that once people know we are conservatives, our services diminishes.

    One nurse said “I’m not a fan”. After they left, I said to my husband, I will say one thing about that. A person who is not a fan kept a person who is a fan from watching. I ask who only goes with their ideology and who wants to exercise critical thinking.

    The next day we were able to leave. Although, I was waiting for that, I felt rushed and was not sure if it had something to do with ideology.

    As Glenn says, we can not get them off the merry-go-round. The ideology trumps thinking.

    Oh well. It’s only Yahoo!. I don’t use Yahoo!, or shop there, or have anything to do with them.
    I’m expecting Yahoo! to come out and backtrack, say it was some rogue individual. Unless of course, the entire whole of Yahoo! holds this view of Sarah Palin.

    In that case, Yahoo is incredibly stupid. Yahoo! is a for-profit business. What better way to increase your bottom line than to insult a huge portion of your market?

    There should be a lesson in here for ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC and CNN. Especially MSNBC.

      Not all of New Zealand is liberal. I have visited NZ and met a lot of lovely sensible (opposite of liberal) people there. It is a beautiful country too. I also learned a lot about history while I was there. So please, same as here, in the States not all people can be classed the same way and do not deserve some of the comments that were posted .

      Whatever…Tina Fey is funny as hell, and 30 Rock is awesome! I may not agree with her politics, but that doesn‘t mean she can’t make me laugh. And she has been in some major films. She wrote and starred in Mean Girls. She was in Baby Mama, The Invention of Lying, Date Night and Megamind. Those are all major motion pictures. Whether or not you like her, you can‘t deny she’s a star of major films.

      Sometimes we have to use our brains, rather than our hearts.

      Four of the five are forgettable, lame, movies. I found Megamind slightly entertaining, but of course, those weren’t “real” actors and it was a voice-over. She has talent, I cannot take that away from her. Just not my cup of tea, I guess.

      Maybe somebody ought to investigate Tina Fey and read her emails. Bet you‘d find more trouble in her emails than ever in SP’s. Tina is the one who ‘can see Russia from my house’ you know–guess the writers mad her say it. Sarah never did say that. Probably plenty more really intellectual comments in ol‘ Tina’s backgound waiting to be brought out. But who really cares because she’s a second rate comedienne in any case.

      What the repubs need is a truly gifted pr/marketing campaign. They are really lame when it comes to getting their messages out. Always defending, never ahead of the game.

      That’s because, for the most part, Republicans are even more out of touch than Democrats. That’s why there is a Tea Party movement in this country. Because over and over again, Republicans have failed miserably to show that they have any idea what the people who vote for them want. Most of them are not even conservative. The whole system is a joke, and it doesn’t seem to me that Sarah Palin is much different from the rest of them. I could be wrong, but it would be a first.

      I had hoped that ostensibly well-educated readers would be above confusing poetry with history. I must have heard Ms. Palin’s shot heard ’round the world 100 times by now. Nevertheless, ignorance triumphs once again!

      I always told my students they learn better if they do their own research. I suggest that you do the same. Suggestion: Google “Paul Revere’s Ride“ together with ”bells“ ”militia”. Read the academic entries.

      Here‘s a sampling of what you will find concerning Paul Revere’s ride: The primary goal of the British regulars (not “Redcoats”) was to apprehend the leaders of the opposition, Sam Adams and John Hancock. Their secondary goal was, to disarm the populace along the way.

      Revere confronted 2 British regulars manning a road block as he headed north across Charlestown Neck. As he turned around, the regulars gave chase and he eluded them. He then continued on to Lexington, to the home of Jonas Clarke where Sam Adams and John Hancock were staying. There, his primary mission was fulfilled when he notified Adams and Hancock that “The Regulars are coming out!” (he never exclaimed, “The British are coming”. This would have made no sense at the time since they considered themselves British).

      Revere and Dawes then headed for Concord and came across Doctor Prescott who then joined them. They decided to alarm every house along the way.
      Just outside of the town of Lincoln, they were confronted by 4 Regulars at another road block.

      Love their fear. World fear of such an incredible person. Let them continue to fear her. Shows their lack of just about everything moral, ethical and spiritual. Proves to us who they really are and what they really stand for. Personally, I love when they slam her. They lose all credibility in the eyes of tens (maybe hundrends) of thousands of people, instantly.

      If any of you people who are considering republican nominees are not thinking Palin, then this should be all the evidence needed to realize she is the “perfect” candidate. The left hates her because she represents all they have been taught to loathe.

      And, you realize the left hates everything “we” believe in and stand for, isn’t it logical to come to the conclusion that since everything the left has ever hated is the very thing that made America the massive super-power it is, Palin becoming POTUS is destiny???

      Not all of New Zealand thinks likes this, or Australia for that matter. I’m willing to bet they have about the same percentage of Progressives as we do. Also, this is obviously a Progressive ploy to incite hatred. When you lower the meaning on words such as evil and racist, the meanings and impact of the words are marginalized but the connotations generally are not.

      This is a “three’fer” for the Progs – they get a hit on Sarah, get us to turn on an ally, and marginalized something that is despicable. Do NOT fall for this people.

      They messed up in the beginning by posting these two pictures side-by-side. Tina may look a little bit like Sarah but not that much. She just happens to be the one on SNL that looked the most like Sarah. That woman that they showed on the video during Sarah’s tour looked lot more like Sarah than Tina.

      Sarah Palin quit her job before it was done. Then, she took a vacation at the expense of her followers. On her vacation, you don’t really see her family, just her parading herself for the media. All of this stuff sounds good to you? You can’t just automatically believe someone when they say they are Christian because even Obama said he was that. People need to open their eyes to where we really are in this age and how God plays into all of this. Who cares if she is Republican or Democrat? Either way, she is self-glorifying much like Oprah. She may look good and speak well but that doesn’t make her good. She may be famous, wealthy, and popular but it came at the price of her soul.

      Well, I’m tracking it down. It was written by one “Tommy Christopher” whose bio says:

      “I’m a media correspondent and White House reporter for Mediaite.com. I also write about politics and the White House forAsylum.com and DailyDose.us.”

      I haven’t figured out if he wrote the original “evil” story or just reported it. I cannot find the item on Yahoo’s site and there is a suggestion that it has been taken down after some of our politicians complained.

And after all this, she realized that the media would stop at nothing, nor would particular co-workers hesitate to sell her and the State of Alaska down the pike. So, she resigned.

      Her family is not in the limelight. They’ve been targeted enough. And she’s the one who her supporters want to see. Todd and the kids are wonderful, but Sarah’s the one that people want to hear speak, to understand her ideas and to support.

      And before we get around to the accusation of how she’s in this for the money, can we look back on some people like, oh, let’s say….Al Gore (huge house in TN with $2,000 a month in electrical costs); John Edwards (Ambulance chasing for fun and profit), and Nancy Pelosi (What do you mean I can’t bring my friends and family back and forth to D.C. every week?)

      Apatha is an old family expression I use every now and then; it holds the meaning of something that is so vile and revolting to what one holds as ideals and scruples (such as the left to Sarah Palin). I hope that this provides some clarity to the word.

      It has been around for at least seven genrations of family letters and teachings.

      Earlier this evening, I emailed Yahoo! and pointed out that I had used their services for years (probably close to a decade now) and aside from some hiccups when there was maintenance upgrades, things worked fairly well. While I do believe in freedom of speech, I pointed out that if Yahoo! as a company was declaring Sarah Palin was evil, they should be up front about it. I mistakenly thought that they were a telecommunications company and Internet service provider, not a PAC. However, if Yahoo! does in fact believe that Sarah Palin is evil, then it might be time for me to move on to another email/ISP since they obviously want the anti-Sarah Palin supporters rather than just the regular population. While I was sad to hear this, and it would be a major annoyance to change everything, I would be willing to find a new ISP home, since I’ve already done that once with Google. I was polite and tried to state clearly that I don’t want to stop using Yahoo unless they are firmly entrenched in their “Sarah Palin is evil” statement.

      Be interesting to see if I get a response. If you use Yahoo! and like Sarah Palin, it might be good to contact them, also.
