Yes, This Is a Gigantic Sarah Palin Head Being Used to Roast a Pig

An ornate metal sculpture modeled after former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has found a new home in President Barack Obama’s hometown. And the larger-than-life rendering of Palin‘s head doesn’t just feature an homage to her signature updo and glasses — it cooks too!

Chicago artist J. Taylor Wallace demonstrated his creation’s cooking capacity Friday at the Bridgeport Art Center, roasting a suckling pig in honor of the statue’s installation there.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Wallace said making the sculpture “was kind of in response to the political climate at that time, when the healthcare debate was going on. I thought she was a distraction from what was important, and it was cathartic to spend three months doing it…. It helped me out a lot.”

Wallace’s “catharsis” came in the form of crafting Palin with a wide-open mouth, seemingly frozen mid-scream, with the smoke from the cooker giving the effect of steam rising from her head.

The sculpture, titled “We‘re havin’ a Tea Parody” (or “Pear-ody,” according to other reports) was first unveiled last year at the National Ornamental Museum in Memphis, Tenn., according to CBS Chicago. A pig was roasted for that occasion as well.

    I find it appropriate that Sarah is roasting a pig (get it pork). also the only “Americans I see with wide open mouths, accusing their opponents of doing exactly what they do, and wanting their turn at the sow’s (gov’t) tit, as to not get gypped out of their perceived share.

    He is not protesting the murder rate in Chcago, he is concerned about those that were shot but not killed and that they have medical care? Chicago has the most shootin‘ and killin’s in the country but not the highest “rate,” that honor belongs to New Orleans.

    South Chicago kills the most. 350 a year are put down but no one mentions it because there is no use in stiring up the natives. Four times the killin‘s are only shootin’s. There is very little racism in South Chicago, 96% of their murders are black on black.

      Postman…..that reminds me of something I saw on the hisory channel i think it was. A couple stopped by the dog market in indonesia, or was it tanesia, to put in their order for a dog for dinner. They were led to an area where dogs were staked out and they picked one out and paid and then left. The man took the the dog to a pit in the ground, killed it, placed in the pit with hot coals and covered up. it was not bled or gutted or skinned. Later that day the couple came back to get the cooked dog. The couple was undercover I think As best i can remember. and were not too wild about eating dogs. Eating dog is a nasty recipe indeed.     Why is the LEFT so frightened by Sarah Palin that they need to endlessly demonize her? I have never ever seen in all my 51 years any politician so subject to hostility and scrutiny as this woman. Endless articles, endless lampooning, people buying the property next door, movies….What is it about Sarah Palin that is so very upsetting? I don’t get it–and please spare me from the easy answers you will bore me and everyone else to death. In the end whatever she is doing that upsets the left so much, this is my advice: 1. Keep it up, 2. Get better advisors. This guy spent 3 months exorcising his hostility that is a real testimony to something, I don’t know what but certainly something so profoundly disturbing to the Left that it needs to be exploited to the most possible advantage by the Right. I would say that he should use his time better except that so many on the Left are involved with the same hostility–I don’t get it. Sarah, keep it up–you seem to be hitting some sort of nerve.

      In the end, Nancy Pelosi was the winner with her “you have to pass it to read it” admonition. It’s been passed, and it’s been read. The real losers are the American taxpayers who will be disapearing as fast as homeowners. Ther is no actual cost estimate but large companies and unions have lined up for their exemptions for some reason?
