Yes, This Is a Soccer Trick Shot Video. And Yes, it Is Good.

I‘ll readily admit that I’m not a huge soccer fan. Sure, I like the World Cup. But I’m not rushing home from church in order to watch players do battle on the “pitch.” So in order for me to do a post about soccer, something big has to happen (like someone intentionally swearing into the camera). This is big. It’s awesome. And if you’re a sports fan or like watching incredible videos, you should watch this.

Meet Lassi Hurskainen, a goalkeeper for the UNC Asheville Bulldogs. In the video below, though, he doesn’t do much goalkeeping. Instead, he kicks balls into moving barrels, hits objects off the goalpost blind — while behind a building, and knocks things off his friend’s head. Yeah, it’s good:

It doesn‘t always translate but the raw talent sure looks like it’s there if this guy wants to be a kicker in the NFL. He didn’t seem to really be working to get distance on the longer kicks.

By the way, the ‘First” nonsense is fine for the 11 year olds who hang out on the Fox Sports boards and others like it, and as far as all the soccer haters, this wasn’t soccer, it was tricks with a soccer ball. Oh, and to the “this is not news” crowd, expand your horizons and relax once in a while.

I am always curious as to how many takes are made before they get these shots. I’ve played soccer all my life and back in high school when I was in shape I could do all this stuff too. Not that impressed. If you can do it all first try on cue, that would be more impressive.. no editing.

An article from the Marxist, America hating AOL / Huffington Post, See link below:

The NAACP, demon-rats, progressives, liberals, enviromental wacko’s, Ferrykan, Jessie and Al, on and on will be preaching white cities will need to segragate, like busing, to allow equal number of blacks via what ever formula they come up with. As we had with forced busing. So get packing whitey we’s moving in seem to ring out while reading the article.

If I ever go for a PhD in Sociology my dissertation will be about how professional sports today is what Roman Gladiator games in the Colosseum was for the Romans. In other words a way for the Government to take the mind of politics and important matters and help people focus on non essential things in life.

Really? A soccer trick video? This is an American web site, we don’t care about… No, we can’t stand soccer. You want us to watch soccer. Okay I’ll watch it, if you make it so that the players can tackle each other, pick up the ball and run with it, and it was called rugby.

Soccer is a great sport. If you don’t like it, chances are you never have taken the time to actually understand it.

With that said, I really didn’t think the video was that amazing. The kid with the football a few weeks back was much more entertaining.

I heard WSB radio news talking about it last night. So many sponsors of (((GB))) canceled that Fox News said they were not going to carry th program after December, when Glenn’s contract expires.

I looked on the Internet yesterday for “Glenn Beck sponsors canceled” and found this link:
      http://foxnewsboycott.com/glenn-beck/48-sponsors-have-left-glenn-beck-so-far which is dated August 31, 2009.
