Yikes! Actress Drops F-Bomb During Oscar Acceptance Speech

Washington Post:

Well, there may not be a best actress Oscar curse, but there is now officially a cursing best supporting actress.

Melissa Leo, who won for her role in “The Fighter,” was so overcome by her win that she dropped the F bomb during her acceptance speech. Which may just be a first for the Academy Awards.

I have an issue with actors being hypocritical. You can’t say spread the wealth when you are not willing to reduce your lifestyle. BUT, this is why America is great. Capitalism made them rich, yet they criticize it! Where do they think their $5 million dollars a film comes from? I still like movies just don’t like the hypocrisy!!

And what are you BJT? The fry cook at a fast food restaurant? You are quick to condemn someone for their past failures even though they have experienced redemption and their lives were turned around. Do you have the same condemnation for people like Lindsey Lohan or Charlie Sheen? Probably not.

I agree. Recently I had one of my nephews tell me that using the ‘F’ word is… “no big F’n deal”. He was then told to leave my house. Now he knows it is a big deal!

This is just one of the million or two reasons why I hate what liberal ideology has brought this country. Look, I’m no angel, and I’m no prude, but I think most of us on the right are simply asking for the public to use a little respect when they open their mouth.

Respect my family. Respect my Faith. Respect my country. Is that really asking for so much?

      BROKER-
I gotta tell ya,dude, once in a while you make a cogent ARGUMENT.
In my estimation, if you spent more of your intellect making good arguments instead of throwing molotov cocktails, you could make the dialogue here a little bit better.
I believe that we ALL have the ability to learn from intelligent discourse, even if adversarial at times.
I’ll be interested to see what you have in response.
      Thanks in advance,

      P.S.To all Blazers:

As far as the “F-Word” goes, it has a very interesting history…It originally comes from the Greek verb “φυω” (say “Foo-owe”) , and is a term for planting seeds in furrows.
Planting “Seeds” in “Furrows” – hmmm ..
It was altered in Latin to “fututio”. If you are so inclined, look up “fututio”. A fascinating origin. And you know what? It’s just a WORD.
Offensive, perhaps, but still, just a WORD. I think we have a LOT bigger fish to fry than worrying about a stupid word. Sometimes I think we, as a society, obsess about pretty trivial things. I can say with near certainty that the word itself has never hurt anyone. The “act”, indeed.
      My 2 cents…,

      @Steverino
I agree that the ‘F’ word itself never hurt anyone, but wasting my time to read your description and history of the word certainly wasted a few of my minutes. I occasionally use the word myself, but I always use discretion. No matter what we speak we should be aware of those around us. I am sensitive to others and will never use the word around strangers, women, or children, or in certain public situations. It isn’t that hard to watch what we say. On the other hand, I have no problem dropping the bomb when just around my buddies.

This is what happens when you put gold earrings on a Pig.
There is only a small handful of Hollywood actors that can actually carry themselves with any kind of dignity. The rest, disgusting.

Like it was just a slip of the lip! Yeah Right!! Classless classless classless! And we have become all but desensitized to this kind of vulgarity.

Actors are only as good as their script!
This is what you get when they are un-scripted.
      She really needs vocabulary training.
