You Don’t Say: Soros Claims World Financial System on ‘Brink of Collapse’

The world financial system is on the brink of collapse, according to investor George Soros.
The famous market speculator and philanthropist recently spent time in countries where his philanthropic endeavors are being put to use, namely Africa.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Soros “sees a growing bifurcation between emerging and developed countries – and he’s more confident about prospects for the emerging ones.”
Despite their assorted problems, including corruption, weak infrastructure, failing governments, powerful warlords, battling tribes, and rampant disease, Soros says that developing countries are relatively unscathed by the “deflationary debt trap that the developed world is falling into.”
The current global financial system is in a “self-reinforcing process of disintegration,” Mr. Soros warned, and “the consequences could be quite disastrous. You have to do what you can to stop it developing in that direction.”
While Greece, Spain, and Italy continue to catapult the eurozone into a frightening situation (and the U.S remains on the alert), Soros is at least optimistic about recent developments he’s witnessed in Africa and the Arab world.
“A lot of positive things are happening,” he said. “I see Africa together with the Arab Spring as areas of progress. The Arab Spring was a revolutionary development.”
Apparently anticipating that someone would point out the Arab Spring has yet to produce anything in favor of democracy, Soros noted that Hungary’s 1956 revolution changed the political atmosphere but didn’t actually produce anything until 1989.
“You can’t expect immediate success but what is happening will have a lasting impact,” he said.
It’s sure to have an impact, but in whose favor?

We are getting closer.
That is the opposite of bifurcation, branching. It is convergence. Which is what we should have done at the turn of the milleniem, but we didn’t put any oomph in any effort at the time. The effort being, converging with the poor, by making neat survival gadgets so cheap they all get given them as we ourselves get them. We will eventually be getting neat survival gadgets as we go on our way down and wave to the African arab nations going on their way up… yeah… right…sure…

But since I’m not an economist or mover and shaker of power and money, what are we to do besides pray, have food, water, gold, guns, and get to know our neighbors so we can barter and trade? Or is this the best advice? Hopefully I missed something someone said along the way. And people are asking me what to expect. How’s it gonna be? What can we do? I appreciate Glenn‘s suggestions and points to his family he’s sharing with us. But is there other advice from experts too? Perhaps they were on the program, but it just hasn’t sunk in as I change my priorities from the latest fashions and hair styles to durable goods? Thanks for your help.

I could not take the church and walked away when 18 probably because I was a product of the 60‘s and 70’s revolution movement back then kind of like what is going on now at least we didn’t use violence intimidation and lies like they do now we had scruples at least the people I knew did.
