‘You Haven’t Even Thought This Out’: O‘Reilly Confronts ’Drop the I-Word‘ Spokeswoman in Sizzling ’Factor’ Segment

Bill O‘Reilly’s program “The O’Reilly Factor“ lived up to its reputation as the ”no-spin zone” last night when Monica Novoa, a spokeswoman for the new initiative “Drop the I-Word,” which aims to make usage of the term “illegal alien” morally on par with racial slurs, tried to weasel out of answering his questions about what the law surrounding immigration ought to be. Novoa, as it turned out, had no answer to this question.
Novoa began the interview by cockily asserting that while America was a “nation of laws,“ it was also a nation of ”humane laws” and that laws that weren’t also humane could be changed. Rather than challenge her implicit premise that U.S. immigration law is inhumane, O’Reilly went for a different tack.
“So change [the laws],” he said. “Don’t demonize people who are accurate in the description as using a slur or using a hate word, ’cause that’s not true.”
Laughing mockingly, Novoa pointed out that Fox News Latino didn’t use the word “illegal.”
“[Fox News Latino] will not join the bandwagon of dehumanizing people who are immigrants,” she said.
O’Reilly was unfazed, and proceeded to probe more deeply. “I don‘t think I’m dehumanizing everyone by describing what the reality is,” he said. “Do you believe we should have open borders here, that anyone who comes to the United States should be able to come?”
It was at this point that Novoa made her first mistake. “I think that what we should be doing right now is looking at the reality,” she began, before O’Reilly pounced.
“Miss Novoa, Miss Novoa, Miss Novoa, what you did is just dodge a question, and now you’re filibustering, that‘s two things we don’t allow on this program.”
Over the course of the next minute or so, Novoa continued to spout platitudes as O’Reilly continually tried to push her for specifics, at one point even appointing her the hypothetical “Czar” of immigration, and asking her what her policy would be. And then, once he had shot down all her preplanned answers, came an uncharacteristic sight: Novoa literally sat silently, completely stumped. It was at this point that O’Reilly delivered his harshest criticism of the segment.
“You haven’t even thought this out, Miss Novoa,” O’Reilly said coldly. “You have not even thought this out. And with all due respect, because I appreciate you coming in here, you come in here with a very hot campaign, alright? Run by a far-Left website, demonizing people like me who are accurately telling the people what’s happening. And you don’t even know what you want. You don’t even know what you want.”
Amazingly, Novoa still hadn’t realized she was bleeding. “Fox News Latino agrees with us, maybe you can talk a little bit to them?”
O’Reilly curtly responded that he could do his own show regardless of what other shows or channels he was affiliated with did. Novoa responded by simply asserting that “the I-word” was racist. O’Reilly shot that down by pointing out that not all illegal immigrants were Latino, but that many were in fact Asian, Russian. The point was, according to O’Reilly, that they were crossing the borders illegally, hence they were illegal aliens.
“I have to say, I’m very surprised that I gave you the opportunity to define for millions of people, what you want the law to be, and you can’t!” O’Reilly finished indignantly.
“We’re here to talk about the I-word today,” Novoa responded sassily, but O’Reilly cut her off with what many would see as a killing blow.
“No, we’re not. You’re here to talk about what I want to talk about. This is my program.“

Why does this woman not get it? That’s rhetorical, she DOES get it. They all do. But, here is “the catch.” Socialists have long known that the first step in bringing about any big upheaval is to first CHANGE THE LANGUAGE. That’s what this is about. Once the word “homosexual” became a dirty word and “gay” replaced it, big changes were possible. And I’m not saying they were all wrong. On this issue, making the word “illegal” illegal so to speak, changes the conversation in such a way to make it nearly impossible to kick illegals, I’m old-fashion and still use that word, out of the country. And that is the ultimate goal of advocates like Ms. Novoa!

They are trying to equate the word “illegal” with the other racist word that begins with the letter “n.” However, you can’t simply begin calling “illegal” the “i-word” and expect to be effective when your argument is fatally flawed. “Illegal” has no race, gender, ethnic, etc. etc. etc. connotation. If illegal aliens were entirely made up of Latinos, maybe, but the truth is that there are illegals present in the U.S. from all over the world and they are not all people of color, hence “illegal” does not equal “racism.” (Not to mention the pesky fact that Latinos largely belong to the white race.)
Fortunately, as we have discovered these past 3+ years, calling non-racist people “racists” doesn’t shut them up. It’s a failed strategy and this will be no different.

I have been saying for years that the term illegal alien–although it is the literal and legal description on the books–is a legal impossibility. A person can’t be “illegal,“ only their actions can be ”illegal” (unlawful). Hence, anyone present within our borders who is here “illegally” is “unlawfully present.”

Posted on April 28, 2012 at 12:27pmDoes anybody want to know what is REALLY behind this lady’s desire for tryting to control what kind of words are used? Her motivation is the same as any other group’s motivation here, which is to gain power and dominance for what she believes are truly her people.
She isn’t interested in assimilation into the culture. She isn’t interested in adopting the traditions, customs, way of life or anything else about this country. She wants to inundate the nation with as many of the people she identifies as her tribal kin, bringing with them their own culture, their own histories, their own heroes, their own language and their own holidays. She wants to look around and see countrymen who look just like she does.
Trying to stifle certain words used to identify them as coming here illegally is just one small step within the broader purpose of making their presence into this country more palatable, with no shadow over them that the word “illegal” entails.
Take a closer look at the CBC. They don’t want “equality.” They‘ve had more than that with ungodly priviliges but their group still can’t compete. What they want is what Mark Lloyd wants, which is for white people to step down from their positions and let black people step into the slots, just as he bluntly stated.
All the tribes want a society where their particular tribe dominates and controls. Equality is just another buzz word to cover up their real intent.

People should be taxed more for income “in excess” of $250k. Implying that income of more than $250k (or whatever the amount was) is extra and unnecessary.
If you don’t have health insurance, you don’t have access to health care. No, it means you don’t have health insurance.

The word alien is the only term that could be viewed here as a racial term, as it‘s the noun that’s describing who and what they are. You can substitute immigrant also here.
So, unless we change the English language and how it works, where adjectives describing people’s actions are now made to be the same as nouns describing who they are, or unless we are crazy enough to change a noun like alien, or immigrant — terms that obviously encompass any foreign person that migrates here to live — then the left and their idiocy has 0 legs to stand on.
Unless you talk to their mindless drone sheep that follow them, of course. Or, they try and institute the entire term as a slang term that’s used as a noun, like “wet-back” became. What happens when you call OSHA? They dissappear and the sites get cleaned before OSHA shows up! Is that coincidental? Then goes right back and don’t let them find out it was you that called you will never work again. What happens when they become union members? You work less, wages go down, standard of living goes down, bosses and the union make more money.
