GOP presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich got an uncensored earful from an Iowa man during a campaign stop Tuesday.

In a moment captured on camera, the man, dressed in camouflage, approached the former House Speaker in a grocery store and told him to his face, “You know something? You’re a f–king asshole.”

Though audio of the exchange is slightly muffled, Gingrich seems to answer, “No I am not!”

“Yes,” the man said.

“It’s a free country,” Gingrich is heard saying as the clip ends.

The exchange was reported on CNN during “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.” Watch below:

Gingrich, who surged to the front of the GOP pack in the last month, has seen his poll numbers in Iowa begin to slide just two weeks out from the caucuses. He also lost out on the endorsements of two major social conservative leaders: Bob Vander Plaats, head of the Christian group Family Leader, and Iowa Family Policy Center head Chuck Hurley both backed former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum Tuesday.

    I‘m sorry but this is what is ruining our country people talking to others like that whether your for Newt or Not that was disrespectful and I call people like that they are uneducated if that is the way they have to talk to get someone to pay attention to them I personally would walk away I know he couldn’t do that but how sad is that guy.I can tell he definetly has no CHRACTER to be proud of and I don’t mean Newt just incase someone tries to spin my words or meaning.

      Thank you, I totally agree. Why do we feel we have to be rude, vulgar, crude and nasty to people? If your arguement is on this level, you don’t have one, you’re just venting you ignorance. We used to have civil discussions, and agree to disagree-now we just rant at each other. I won’t be a part of it, I wouldn’t want to have to answer for it when we are told to treat everyone as we want to be treated.

      Newt is: A member of the Council on Foreign Relations(CFR)(Globalists), He is a supporter of the U.N., He is a supporter of a health care mandate, He is a supporter of the Patriot Act and both un-Constitutional WARS, He believes in a broader and more overbearing government. He supported TARP, He supported the bailouts and profited from them. He supported the Contract with America which was never even looked at again after passing. Then there is the big boost to his wealth as the Speaker of the House. In 1994 when put in that position he was worth around $600,000; when he left that position he was worth over $7,000,000. He was lobying. Electing Newt will be no different than having Obama in the White House. The list of baggage goes on and on and on. Romneys and Santorams list are not much better.

      I disagree. An educated person knows that when they only have a few seconds to accurately convey their feelings toward another human being, it is best to just go ahead and say how you feel as opposed to describing why you feel that way. Much like how people tell their spouse that they love them as opposed to explaining why they love them every time they leave them. All these people were doing was to tell Newt how they felt about him and in a very succinct way. I think telling someone that they are an @55hole is an extremely efficient way to talk to @55holes.

      What gives? Sure everyone has the right to speak, but that doesn’t mean they have the right to be heard. Only due diligence deserves the right to be heard. But one wise enough to apply some due diligence knows there’s a right time to “stand an deliver” what you have prepared for all to hear. Something with substance. Something more than “uhhh……duh…yer an *******”. What a timid man.

      What a hate worse than a coward, that’s a courageous coward, aka, a loud fool. The title of “dumb ass” may be a few steps up from this idiot’s current station. We have the militant homosexual democrat doing the all too familiar passive/aggressive routine to play gotcha with Gingrich. Gingrich wasted no time…he told him to vote for Obama. That man‘s vote was never Gingrich’s anyway. And now this incident where Gingrich’s temper may have come to bear but he backed down, stated “no I’m not”..then when the man kept on..Gingrich replies “it’s a free country”.       I don’t know…; My question is who made up the list of “bad words” or “profane words” (defined as treating something sacred with abuse, irreverence, or contempt). I did not hear anything that showed contempt for anyone but Newt, and although he may be the RNC sacred cow—-I do not view him as sacred.

      Words are words, which people use to communicate. I think the guy communicated pretty effectively his opinion of Newt. It might be interesting to hear his justification….but he only had a few seconds to sum up his position.

      Why is it that we are offended by someone expressing their opinion/viewpoint in language that we all have learned, which represents a clear picture to all, and leaves little to debate what was meant? There was no transgression against God. Get over it, and quit being offended by something that I have yet have someone explain to me how anyone but Newt should be offended by the expression.

      @HEYJIM85, WRONG! Not really a big Newt supporter, but wouldn’t kick him under the bus either. Barack Hussein Obama could not carry Newt’s jock strap, and Obama and his policies will profoundly continue the destruction of the American way of life. Newt would more likely than not counter much of Obama’s policies and hopefully stall the downward slide of the country. Romney is another Bob Dole or John McCain, neither of whom have any balls to state nor to do the things necessary to turn things around. Though Romney is better than Obama, he would likely, if elected, set the stage for another Democrat in the White House in 2016.
      Newt is definitely not a Ronald Reagan, but doesn’t appear to be one available for 2012. However, Newt would not be bowing to the Saudi’s, kissing Imadamnnutjob’s ass, sacrifice Israel, or kick any of our other allies under the bus. His feet would have to be held to the fire in some areas, but he is pragmatic and not going to cut his own nose off to spite his face.
      Obama is what he is, and none of it is good. The sooner he is dumped and disparaged the better.

      Might want to take a look at the article by Thomas Sowell on Gingrich. Enlighten a lot of people on the Blaze, who don‘t know what the Hell they’re talking about.

    I am sure that all of Newts X-wives probably agree. What does the dress attire have to do with anything anyway? Is the Blazes keen observation meant to invoke some imaginative conclusion about people that call other people a-holes who wear camouflage different from anyone else who does the same thing and dresses differently?

      I’d rather someone were curt and concise, than someone like Newt or Mitt that will fill my ear with fluff and piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining.
      So I’m going to be curt here, vote for Ron Paul, or bend over and grab your ankles and don’t expect vassoline either because if you vote for whomever the “media” is pushing you deserve to get it dry.
