Youngest AZ Shooting Victim‘s Organs Save Boston Child’s Life

Youngest AZ Shooting Victims Organs Save Boston Childs Life

Christina Taylor Green

(AP/The Blaze) — The father of the youngest victim of the Arizona massacre says some of her organs have been donated to a young girl in the Boston area.

John Green tells The Boston Globe in Sunday’s edition that he received a phone call about the transplant, but says he doesn’t know any other details about the donation.

He says the call “really lifted” his spirit and says he and his wife are proud parents once again of their daughter, “who has done another amazing thing.”

Nine-year-old Christina Taylor Green was born Sept. 11, 2001.  She had just been elected to her Tucson school’s student council, which is why she went to see Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

“Some of Christina’s organs went to a little girl in Boston,” her father, John, said Friday.  “It was very poignant to find out.  That’s what Christina was all about.”  There have been no details on the identity of the child saved or the nature of her illness, but John Green said he looked forward to meeting the recipient one day.

“I’d give her a big hug,” he said. “It’s a blessing.”

The Red Sox, Yankees, Mets, Phillies and Dodgers need to honor this little girl by wearing her initials on their uniforms this year. The Yankees, Mets, and Phillies because her grandfather managed all three teams. The Dodgers because her father is a scout for the team. The Red Sox because of what her family did by donating her organs to the little girl.

“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.” Genesis 50:20 …. What an amazing family. My family has also been blessed by organ donation. Praying for them all. What an inspiration in the face of such tragedy.

Christina’s short time on this Earth was a gift for all of us. Her death was truly an accident, because the crazy guy was just randomly shooting, not really targeting her.

It’s amazing that her parents released her organs to keep another child from dying. God bless Christina and her parents. It amazes me that there are such wonderful people in the World.

I never felt so humbled in all my life. I don’t care what they say about the United States of America. we still have the greatest people in the world. That little girl deserves a prominent place in our society. She is a true symbol of life. From her birth to her death and now after.

Once the Dollar collapses and our economy goes sought we will ALL wish we would have been shot that day.

Massive layoffs, food shortages, no utilities, no gasoline, mass homelessness, no access to health care, and worst of all – NO STARBUCKS!!

why can’t you just leave it alone? These people have made something good come out of the worst thing that could have ever happend to them. Find somewhere else to post your critisism. I for one will not ever wish that me and my children were shot. Try to find the good in your daily life. It’s not hard if you try. If those parents can, then we all can.

It is so sad to see this young child killed in this awful tragedy. It had to be a very difficult decision for those parents. My heart goes out to them and hope that God will be with them and help them to heal soon. GOD BLESS ALL OF THE FAMILIES, LOVED ONES, AND FRIENDS OF THE ONES WHO WERE INJURED OR KILLED!

What a fitting tribute to a wonderful little gir. I’m sure Christina is delighted that her organs have helped save another child. Her parents have shown themselves to be wonderful people who I hope will take some bit of comfort in the fact that even in death their much-loved daughter is doing good.

Even in the hell of tragedy (and for the loss of a child that is exactly what it should be called), they still manage to find compassion for others in need. My prayers unto the Almighty for the family and to the one helped by the organ transplant as well.

May the Almighty bring peace, comfort, and healing to the families of both.
