Young Black Activist Blasts Bill Ayers for Opposition to Charter Schools

When Bill Ayers agreed to visit New Jersey’s Montclair State University–which The Blaze reported on here–he probably didn‘t think he’d get taken down publicly–and embarassingly–by a young black activist. But that’s what happened when New Jersey’s Vanessa Jean-Louis questioned Ayers about his opposition to charter schools in this stunning exchange:

Asking for his solutions to the educational crisis that impoverished students in this country face, Jean-Louis said to Ayers,

I had parents and students crying…to make sure that their students could get into the charter schools in the district–because the charter schools were higher performing–despite the fact that the public educational expenditures were higher. I’m just trying to understand exactly what your solutions are. In the same breath you said you’re anti-government, but you’re also anti-privatization…I  don’t understand what your solutions are, specifically for the African America community.

Ayers responds, “What we need to do is invest more in the public schools.”

The crowd then stunningly calls out “No–no–noooo” in unison.

“The per pupil expenditures are higher in the inner city but we’re still not getting the results,” she observes.

Ayers then says that “the truth about charter schools” is that they’re not doing better and he cites a study from Stanford University to prove his point.

The video then cuts to the Jean-Louis explaining that that recent study from Stanford University proves that charters are better for minorities than their public school counterparts. Jean-Louis says, “Stanford researchers found that students in these two categories [students in poverty and english language learners] who attend charter schools routinely out-perform their traditional counter-parts in reading or math.” Students in the two categories she mentions are majority African American and Hispanic.

    Ayers is a narcissistic sadist. He could care less about anyone of any race who does not share his vicious hatred of members of his own class (he was a spoiled rich boy).

    There were a lot of black soldiers at the Army dance he planned to detonate multiple bombs in. The only difference between him and Timothy McVeigh is competence and–given McVeigh’s decision not to waste time in the appeal process, resulting in his rapid execution–some sense of honor. He is a coward, who even in his heyday never had the guts to undertake any of the operations he planned. He killed his girlfriend sure enough, though.

    NEVER FORGET the key tenet of lunatic-left d-crat socialist extremism: If it exists, it MUST be taxed, regulated, controlled and totally and completely subject to the will and whim of BIG GOVERNMENT bureaucrats.

    BTW: Unlike public schools, charter/private schools are NOT 100% unionized. So, for each charter/private school that replaces a public one the lunatic-left d-crat socialists actually LOSE MONEY (i.e. the union dues they get from their masters, the union bo$$e$ ). That’s why they are particularly against non-public schools – IT’S ALWAYS ABOUT THE MONEY.

      I couldn’t agree more. There is also the whole Cloward/Piven “Rules for Radicals.” plan. If they allow th minoroity community to actually get ahead, they lose a stunningly useful group of angry minority people. If minorities actually find out that they CAN get ahead, and do so, anger will subside. It saddens me how horribly leftist revolutionaries like Ayers, use and abuse the minority community. This young woman needs to be applauded.

Hmmmmmmmmmm not sure exactly what race or place where one’s DNA might have originated many generations ago have to do with the issue ….. the fact is that conservatives get to the bone of the matter and find real practical and usually simple solutions ….. solutions that work. The Progressives tend to complicate the matter and try to let you think that you are not capable of understanding all that they understand and so just pay more tax and they will fix the system … aka “blow smoke up one’s derriere”.

    Not only are charter schools better but I say privatization is the answer, like the schools in Belgium. , make these over funded schools compete for students, get rid of the unions and bad teachers, then you could pay the good teachers even more.. you know, maybe run it like a business!!!

Get rid of these stupid testing standards and teach kid critical thinking and problem solving again. Today all they know is how to memorize to pass the latest test that is mandated for the school to get its funding.

      No, the best part is parental choice and parental control. If a charter school chooses to unionize, that is the business of the charter schools and the parents who choose to send their children there. Unionization in and of itself is not necessarily a bad thing (I can’t believe I wrote that). As long as the employees have a choice on whether to join the union or not and the parents have the choice to send their children to the unionized school or not, it’s a non-issue.

      But parental choice … that’s the real issue. And, of course, the issue that Ayers cannot accept. Marxism only succeeds when freedom is repressed.

      living in Alabama, alot of our schools leave a lot to be desired. Yet, a large majority of our politicians are againt charter schools, that includes many Republicans. My kids may have to go to a new school next year that is far below what they have been going to, but I have no choice, we don’t have charter schools in Northport and I can not afford the 5 to 10 grand a year to send them to private school. I would vote for someone who was behind putting charter schools in Tuscaloosa county in a heartbeat, we desperately need more choices here.

      I have zero respect for President Obama. I have the utmost respect for the office he currently occupies. When our side shows such disrespect we do ourselves a disservice.       The public school system has turned into a total failure based on the teachers unions and their greed. When an alternative is proposed they immediately attack them because this will cut into their endless money pit. I applaud this fine young lady for her efforts and taking a stand. More money down the toilet does not promote better education or educational practices. Isn‘t the end result a well educated person regardless of whether it’s from a public school, home schooling, or charter schools. If the progressives really wanted this then they would be promoting what’s best for the citizens, not how much more we can pay the teachers and their union bosses. talk about shameful.

      The brevity helps in detailing his description

      2. When names like Barry, Hussain, Sotero, Dunham, are used, they remind us how many names he has used himself, before settling on the current one , which is why his history is such an enigma

      What was the first thing Obama did, kill vouchers in DC. With all the uproar over the unions and teachers, you now see that the lazy don’t want competition. Unions don’t want competition because, it’s theirs, they deserve it, don‘t’ try and take theirs. Like in the hood, “You got to get yours”.
      Where ever charter schools are tried, guess what, they do better, and yet the unions scream and will spend millions in ad campaigns to kill any choice for schools.
      It doesn’t matter if I put my kid in private school, I still pay for these rotten teachers in the public schools.

      Give parents a choice, just like the left want with a babies life.

      This guy does not fool me!! Go back and watch the documentary done on him and Dorhn, they STATED that they became communists!! Dorhn sent a letter to her little sister(when Dorhn was “underground”) which little sis read in front of news cameras in the 70′s, and in Dorhn’s own words: “we will overthrow your imperialist government and destroy your capitalist system”.

      Ayers and the Demolibersocialcommies do not have any answers and they sure as hell can’t use math and stastics to back up any of their claims. He doesn’t have any real world experience, like most of Obama’s administration and cronies (only 4% of the admin has real world non-gov’t experience). Ayers said to throw more money at the public schools and that has been proven too many times to count as a failed solution. I think Ayers should stick to talking about bombs and how to create uncertainty and chaos, becasue that is what they truly want.

      Almost sounds like a FPS game title. What scares me is the DemLibSoComs have been working tirelessly for decades to turn America and the world into one big real-life “Homefront”-style FPS in order to seize control.

      More on-topic, I salute this girl’s willingness to bell the cat, but I hope that poor girl has zero “skeletons” of *any kind* in her closet, as this administration and their friends have proven themselves to be quite the vindictive type. Remember what happened to Joe the Plumber and his “private” government records?

      Myself, I’d be checking under my car and the engine compartment before I started it/them from now on, not accept any unanticipated deliveries, nor open any strange packages. I’d also use the internet and phones as if they were completely monitored. Can you hire a “food taster” from a temp service? Just curious, in case I ever confront/embarrass/expose one of these DemLibSoCom leaders or one of their pet projects.

      The answer to education is simple make it a privilege not a right. Demand students follow the rules and push themselves to learn. Those that can’t follow the rules and are disriptive in class should be the first removed. Followed by those who don‘t or can’t do the work. Set up an alternative trade/basic educational school for the lower scoring students. And only give College grants to qualified students quit using racial quota and wasting tax dollars.

      Why is Osama bin Ayers even given a voice? I think he should go back in his hole, underground, enjoy the weather and be glad he’s not in prison charged with domestic terrorism.

      I would be willing to bet Ms. Jean-Louis would go to prison if she set off a bomb at Ayers house in protest of his belief.

      @Cheezwhiz Im gonna add to your post. “Which is why his history is an Enigma” I have a major problem with Obama because of his lack of a past. If you go far enough in my past you can go all the way back when I was 10 years old and younger and dig up the people who knew me when I was at that age. You cannot do that with Obama or whatever he called himself back then.

      Maybe Bill Ayers is right. Even he might understand the dangers of state controlled education.
      Charter schools are where the new ‘education’ is being employed. Under the guise of teaching to kids diverse “learning styles” are these schools propagating. Progressives have to tear down the old public schools to make new.
      search for Charlotte Iserbyt. What a wise lady.
      I don’t think mr. ayers is a good person by any means but I have never disagreed with people on 100% of the issues 100% of the time.

      APATRIOTFIRST – The charter school education is what you should fear for brainwashing. even progressives admit failure for public schools.
      We don’t call fundamental classes like math and science,math ed. or science ed. anything with an “ed.” on it is suspect. bullying ed, sex ed…….
      We need to investigate the steering committee that first got the charter school idea rolling, it’s original mission and so on.
      just like our government i can guarantee it is corrupt.

      Progressives are against charter schools for one simple reason. An educated, critical thinking child will grow up to be conservative… Period.
