Young Canadian Robbers Hit Super 8 Motel Using…a Musket

CBC:
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary released a video Wednesday that shows two youths or young men trying to use an unusual weapon — a musket — in an unsuccessful robbery attempt at a St. John’s motel.
Security video from the Super 8 Motel on Higgins Line shows the pair walking into the foyer of the motel, one of them brandishing a musket.
Police said the attempted robbery occurred just before 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The RNC said the pair demanded cash from the clerk before leaving.
One suspect is described as being five feet tall and the other five foot four inches tall. The former was also described as weighing 110 pounds, having dirty blond hair, a light complexion and “possibly acne on his face.”

I didn’t see a **** on it and it seemed a bit indented but when I Googled “martini-henry rifle”, my guess as to what it might have been, they were all two-banded (and the bands looked massively outsized on the ‘weapon’). So that explains it.

It was a replica Civil War rifled musket, and would be .58 caliber. When using mine for hunting, it was loaded with a 465 grain bullet. I’ve dropped deer at ranges from 100 -150 yards. Laugh at the ineptness of the would-be robbers, but that weapon (in capable hands) can be devastating.

Not that I am condoning their actions mind you but I mean come on really, they are lucky they even walked out of that motel without so much as a beat down just for being extremely stupid. lol
On a more serious note though, I wonder, but I doubt, if they have given any real thought about the life long effects of such a dumb action??
