YouTube Shuts Down ‘Sesame Street’ Page After Hackers Post Porn

Sesame Street YouTube Page Hacked With Pornography, Then RemovedThe makers of “Sesame Street” inadvertently offered up some “educational” video content of an offensive and pornographic nature on Sunday.

Hackers apparently infiltrated the popular children‘s show’s YouTube page, posting lewd videos that led to an eventual shut down of the account.

According to CNN, rather than encountering friendly Muppets, visitors to the page in the wake of the hacking found explicit sex videos (one of which was apparently eight minutes in length).

YouTube acted quickly to shut the page down on Sunday afternoon, as pornographic content violates the video platform’s “community guidelines.” A YouTube representative has acknowledged the occurrence and claims that the group always works quickly to purge offensive content.

Sesame Workshop, the non-profit group behind “Sesame Street,” apologized for the incident. In a statement, the organization said:

“Our channel was compromised and we are presently working with YouTube/Google to restore our original content. We always strive to provide age-appropriate content for our viewers and hope to resolve this problem quickly.”

Currently, the page is still down, but ShortFormBlog published what seems to be a screen shot of a portion of the page before it was removed:

While two YouTube users are mentioned in the description as taking responsibility for the incident, at least one of them is denying involvement. A user identified as “MrEdxwx” writes:

“I did not hack Sesame Street. I am an honest YouTuber. I work hard to make quality gameplay videos, and most important I respect the community guidelines.”

He even posted a video (which is essentially a still image), defending himself from the allegations and essentially claiming that he’s been framed:

This isn’t “Sesame Street’s” first drama surrounding YouTube. In September 2010, PBS was embroiled in controversy after a video of singer Katy Perry — cleavage and all — was posted on the page:

    It is one thing to consent to porn as an adult and quite another to promote it to small pre school children, by force. Children are not able to decide what is porn or sex or gay or any of it.
    Why would this administration, along with George S. go to Uganda and promote such activities against small kids? Promote gay rights to small kids? Sodomy and bottom licking and worse? FORCIBLY? Soros funded and backed by Obama?
    You all need to read about this and do a search. I get censored if I try t tell you what it is about.

    Parents should not be letting their children watch any sesame street/muppets if they want their children to learn moral values. These characters have gone too far left since Jim Henson died, and teach immoral values to children, which seems to be the agenda priority of the left. Protect your children as they are this nation’s future.

    Sesame street is a black neighborhood . I am sure that the cookie monster can always get a date on the corner with lateeshah for 10 dollars if he has an itch. Porn is evident everywhere on Sesame street.

      Your implying that agnostic and athiests rape children? The church has raped thousands of young boys, what about warren jeffs, he was devout even claiming god told him to do so while he made others watch. Casey dugart’s catpor had large wooden crosses hanging on the wall in his house directly above where he raped her for years. What about the poularity of youth pastors knocking up a girl 10 years younger then having the whole congregation sweep it under the rug? So typical for you to demonize the agnostic and athiests when all of it is going on in your house. I think pedophiles should be hung. If you need fear to keep you from doing wrong you are defective and should be terminated leaving the world for the rest of us that can conduct ourselves without a weekly fear dose.

    Ok, this one is easy.
    The gamer whose name was hijacked to do the hacking probably teed off some other gamer and this was the response. The rivalries in that world are incredibly deep.

    Thats so stupid – if you’re going to hack a page, why pick on little kids, the hackers aren’t hurting PBS, they are hurting the young kids… Hackers today have no ethics like the ones of the 70s and 80s — they would hack just to prove to be able to get into a system and learn about it — todays hackers are selfish disgusting pieces of garbage.

      Actually…they are not hurting young kids at all. I am quite sure that children didn’t see this garbage. They just had to shut down the website to fix it I would bet. … Sesame Street is a puppet propaganda machine of the left. Conservatives should reallly start paying attention to the indoctrination of their children from a very young age.. Pay attention…this is how they do it. Sesame Street had their own version of Ocuupy. It wasn’t long ago that talking dolls were giving their messages to little children about Islam…that is serious..to have trash like that pumped into a young child’s mind.

      I‘m surprised they didn’t get rid of Snufalufagus. Big Bird was the only one who could see him, and yet he still believed “Snuffy” existed. Kind of sounds too close to religion for that secular crowd.

    Why can’t we have a mandatory public hanging for hackers that get caught? Better yet, how about a cyber posse? There has to be people that know how to find hackers and track them down. Give them bounties, prosecute the hackers and mandatory bullet to the head!

      Do a search of Uganda and what is happening to all the small children there. With the help of Soros and this administration. For real. I cannot make this stuff up. It is beyone horrible.
