Zing! Paul Ryan Just Took a Snarky Shot at Biden During OH Speech

Speaking before a crowd of supporters in Canton, Ohio, on Thursday, vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan made a little joke at the expense of gaffe-prone Vice President Joe Biden.
“It’s great to be here in North Canton, or as Joe Biden might say, it’s great to be here in Nevada!” Rep. Ryan said.
The Wisconsin congressman is, of course, referring to when Biden told an audience in Danville, Va., “With you, we can win North Carolina again. And if we do, we win the election if we win you.”

You know, except for voting for obama, I know exactly what you mean. For the last 4 years it’s been doom and gloom for me. I’m usually a fun loving, happy go lucky type, but with obama, I’ve been sick at heart, praying we’d be done with him and his incompetence.. I’ve prayed for my children & grandchildren, afraid for them if obama won another term.
So, in reverse, I know how you’re feeling. With Romney & Ryan I see 2 bright men, full of zest for America (what a change) intelligent, high moral values, honest, LOVE AMERICA and want to cure all that’s ailed us in last 3+ years. We need jobs, we need a good economy, we need to keep jobs in America, we need men who won’t LIE to us about everything.
I want to feel proud of America again and become my fun loving self again with decent people in the White House (not the czars) and I have felt this will happen with R & R in charge of our (you notice, it’s OUR not his) White House. People, this is our salvation.

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 3:09amDLV, I am now back, and I have to tell you, I am surprised at your post. I did not think we were in a court of law where I had to present evidence to support my statements, but just in a court of ideas. This is what Glenn has always done, researched and brought forth his ideas from his research and passed it on to all of us to take what he gave and research on our own. I am not trying to say that I am a know it all, but I have researched and have found these things to be self evident in my mind. It is now up to you to research what I have given you to make up your own mind on these issues. I will, however, go back through my research and find what led me to these points and do my best to give them to you on a silver platter. I have never asked anyone to give me proof of what they say, but take what they have said, research it and come to my own conclusions. I am sorry you feel the way you do. I will try and be a better educator for you in the future. The one thing I HAVE noticed on this site, the people that are just going along with the establishment, love to call names and tell us to give proof, but never, and I mean NEVER give any proof on their side at all when they disagree. Where is your proof that I am wrong????

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 12:00pmWest Coast- Well said, except for the whole court of law thing. It doesn’t matter where we are the person making the statement needs evidence for their statements. I have to do the same thing when making a stretch of a statement. I‘ll take a look at some of the biggest of these and tell you what I think and then later I’ll try for the rest. If they are true, then I’ll say that Obama and Romney are more of the same. I always go the truth leads.
If I make a statement that is out of the blue, I back it up. I would say both ways work about presenting evidence and looking it up yourself. Generally, a rule of thumb people need evidence for new arguments that aren’t generally accepted. That said, as I said before, if I or anyone else wants to find the truth they do the research themselves. I am not like everyone else on the site, if I want answers I look them up myself. I respect Beck but like he says “do your own HW.”
Report Post »DLV
Posted on August 17, 2012 at 12:34pmwest coast- Alright here is what I think on a few of these.
21 and 22- you said they were the same, fine. I looked at your link. For here on americans being terrorists. He says that all Americans have the right to due process which he acknowledges. He says he would capture, interrogate and prosecute them which is fine, nothing wrong there, the only part where you might have a point is the whole lethal force thing bu I would argue that he was talking about someone who is putting people at risk at that very moment and would use lethal force to kill him there. That happens all the time with criminals, police shoot criminals all the time at the scene without due process. I would argue this is what Romney is talking about or else he would be making contradictory statements.
40- From all of the plans, Romney’s is the best (besides Paul) in the video but the video never addresses the campaigns last point. Also, the video never really goes into too much detail about why all this would raise the deficit they just said it happens. I would argue we would need to go into much better detail before we conclude that Romney’s plan would raise the deficit. I would argue to decrease the deficit we can cut taxes a bit but also reduce government spending by a lot therefore leaving more money open for paying our debts that’ s just common sense. This is a good start but far from conclusive and proving Romney is the same as Obama. Cont.

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 12:48pm39- Well done. Nice conclusive point that gets to the heart of it. I disagree with him obviously but I would also ague that Romney would try and go through congress first about war with Iran and would only use “executive action” if Iran was pointing a nuke at the U.S. and I suppose at that point partisanship would kill us and decisive action would need to be done.
38- I read most of the article. It says a lot. There are a few things to say here. First is that his more liberal politics appealed more to Massachusetts voters. I should know I live there. The governors first goal is to serve the people and if policies seem liberal that’s because he has liberal voters so he has to appeal to them or else he won’t be elected. Only natural. That being said, since the rest of the country is far more conservative for Mass you cannot use his Mass policies as policies he would use as Prez especially since he has changed a lot on his former policies like abortion. He has become more conservative since. Secondly, while the article says he rose the deficit, hurt businesses etc, I looked up other information that say he reduced the deficit, got more jobs etc. For instance here, labor statistics and the unemployment rate. Posted on August 17, 2012 at 1:03pm36- I went to the page and it said sorry page not found. So I can’t comment here but even if it’s true, I would still argue Romney was far more liberal as governor and has changed a lot and is not a fair representative of how he will do as Prez.
Report Post »34- Yup, I agree with you here. I disapprove of Romneys stance however, although he disagrees with the boy scouts he said he allows them to make the decision on this issue. See here. “I support the right of the Boy Scouts of America to decide what it wants to do on that issue…” That’s different than Obama’s stance.
3- Yup, another unfortunate stance of Romney. I would still say that though there are similarities between the two candidates but again it’s a big stretch to call them the same. Again, I’m not arguing that Romney isn’t a progressive only a progressive lite now and more progressive heavy in his early days. What I’m hoping for is that Paul Ryan will even out his progressiveness and if Romney is elected by conservatives he will have to listen to us.
1 and 2- Yes, I’ve reviewed these before. Again unfortunate and I agree. But Obama and Romney differ heavily about the specifics within these two. One is more progressive heavy one is progress lite. They are not the same.
33- Yes, Romney is pro-life now and that if someone says that is their belief we must take their word for it unless their actions prove otherwise. This all goes to my belief that Romney has gone more conservative than his early days

Posted on August 17, 2012 at 1:18pm32- Yes, Romneys record on guns is not perfect like the assault rifle ban but he is far from gungrabbing. Even Obama has said he will not take anyones guns. Again, Romneys record comes from Mass where in the day he was more progressive and he appealed to more a liberal audience. BUT he is not a gungrabber. Here is proof. He said he believed, “in the rights of those who hunt to responsibly own and use firearms.”
Report Post »30- the global warming thing. Romney used to believe GB was man made now he doesn’t know, which is honest. Again, all of this has to do with the old Romney and the New romney. Both aren’t great but the new Romney is much better presidentially qualified. The old Romney I would not even consider voting for. There is a big difference. Thank you for educating me more on the old Romney but you need to understand that there is a big difference than when he was governor and a lot of it had to do with the people he was governing which is fine. If people want to be more liberal in their state you won’t hear a peep from me, it’s when they put it to a federal level and apply it to everyone that is when I have an issue. That is also the reason why he went for Romneycare because people wanted it and Beck has said before he doesn’t mind state government healthcare if people want it but Romney wants to repeal Obamacare because it is federal. To say that because Romney made Romneycare and now he wants federal government H-care is silly. I’ll await your response. Have a

The problem is that this is a progressive idea. The 2nd amendment is not and has never been about hunting. It is about protection from our own or other government tyranny. If we allow the progressives to change the meaning to hunting, we will lose the effectiveness of the right to bear arms.
“A militia, when properly formed, are in fact the people themselves…and include all men capable of bearing arms.” (Richard Henry Lee, Additional Letters from the Federal Farmer (1788) at 169)
“What, Sir, is the use of a militia? It is to prevent the establishment of a standing army, the bane of liberty…. Whenever Governments mean to invade the rights and liberties of the people, they always attempt to destroy the militia, in order to raise an army upon their ruins.” (Rep. Elbridge Gerry of Massachusetts, spoken during floor debate over the Second Amendment [ I Annals of Congress at 750 {August 17, 1789}])
“…to disarm the people – that was the best and most effectual way to enslave them.” (George Mason, 3 Elliot, Debates at 380)
“Americans have the right and advantage of being armed – unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.” (James Madison, The Federalist Papers #46 at 243-244)

Remember I’m not a progressive, I just believe everyone should get a fair chance before we start throwing out names. I still believe an assault rifle ban is wrong but it still doesn’t classify as grabbing all guns. Again, remember, TWO things Romney pandered to liberal voters in Mass which can’t be used against him now and he was far more liberal back then.

We need to get rid of a lot of these programs, but let’s face it, throwing all those programs over the cliff overnight would cause not only an uproar but there would be a lot of chaos. My solution would be to slowly ween us off, cut off a lot of people who don’t need to be part of welfare, and down the line while getting rid of debt, I’d like to see it gone completely. Still, people need help and it’s up to us conservatives to help the poor like we keep saying we are so good at. We need solutions so people can get affordable healthcare by private insurance and we need education reform. Cont.

Yes, Romney may not help the debt but we need to hold his feet to the fire and force him to cut the debt, or at least Congress since it’s their job. We need to let him know that conservatives elected him and he cannot continue his progressive policies even if he is more conservative now. Hopefully Ryan will help in that a bit since he is more conservative than Romney.

I would have voted for Ron Paul over Romney but I don’t see him winning that’s all and while I agree with all of his at home policies, I see his foreign policy as a disaster like Iran. He is okay with a Nuclear Iran? Are you serious. Watch Beck’s video on the caliphate. Iran hates Israel. A-jad says it all the time. And once they get a Nuke, it will be WW3. Women are also voting liberal and young voters still have a good amount of support for Obama. Almost everyone I talked to was pro Ron Paul. I just cannot imagine that Paul would have lost that race.
You see, there are a lot more from states across the country. The RNC chairman violated rule 11 of the RNC Primary Rules, delegates were stripped by the GOP in several states illegally and in violation of federal law! In this general election, no Republican will have the right to scream about election fraud from the Democrats in my opinion. This has been a shameful election by the RNC and establishment GOP.

Let‘s just say Iran doesn’t attack us but instead goes after Israel. Iran has nukes, Israel has nukes are they going to just stand off and yell at each other over the line? Isn’t it fairly likely that Iran would launch a nuke causing destruction especially with their bat @#%$ insane government that runs like a theocracy. They are all about the caliphate, bringing about the end of the world A-Jad has said so. At the very least there will be big time destruction in the middle East causing chaos in the market, hitting the market, here and in Europe where they are killing hemselves with debt. Even if we can defend ourselves, this is still likely to happen and directly affect the U.S. and what about if Israel strikes first out of their own defense? And then Iran attacks and all neighboring countries get involved especially with Syria on the fritz. None of these scenarios look likely. I agree we need to get out of Afghanistan (glad we are out of Iraq) but the U.S. withdrawing from the world just doesn‘t seem likely and it certainly wouldn’t seem to turn out well.

He was the only one not hurling insults and was the only one saying things really need to be cut. Even a few candidates were agreeing with I saw Romney nodding several times, but he was straightforward and honest and 95% of the comments were pro-Paul. The more I learn of him, the more I like. I even like opening trade with Cuba while keeping pressure on them so the people can free themselves. My personal philosophy is that america should spread the message of freedom to the world and if they really want it, we should help them (not with troops but sell them weapons so they can free themselves and get rid of dictators) people need to get the opporturnity to free themselves.
I agree something is fishy with the whole Ron Paul thing and to be honest, I hope something happens with Paul and his delegates at the GOP convention. I still don’t see something happening though. I don’t understand the whole process maybe you can explain. Brother Winston insists Paul has a chance and he has enough for the nomination. Explain how…. If he wins you can bet I’ll back him 100%. But if RP drops out and endorses Romney, I’ll have to go for him. Another war is not what we need especially when attacking Iran is far bigger than invading afghanistan and Iraq. We would be committing ourselves to WW3, not something light to do. I’ve always thought that as a world leader hte U.S. should be proactive in world affairs. Rome did it, Britain did it, Spain did it, China did it. As far as the convention, Paul is still in the race, he won the plurality of delegates from at least 7 states (The GOP and Romney campaign are trying to illegally strip these delegates) but this puts Paul’s name on the ballot for nomination. The lawsuit in the 9th district has been heard, the judge has given a tentative win to Paul delegates and it looks like the convention will have to follow federal law and let delegates vote their conscience on the first round of votes. With that in place, it is no wonder that the establishment is pushing so hard to violate rules and law to strip the rightful delegates from Paul. If they succeed, this will not be good for the party, as Paul supporters will not vote for Romney, period. They will vote Johnson or write in Paul. Ron Paul will not endorse Romney, unless their is some type of promise made on foreign policy and the FED, and I do not see that happening, I mean they do not want Ron Paul to speak at the convention. So, if Romney is nominated, I will write in Paul on my ballot since they allow that in my state, and I know a lot of Democrats that would vote for Paul, but will hold their nose for Obama if Romney gets the nod. It will be a sad day for America for sure.

I don’t want the people governing me to be “working together” with communists. The ONLY way to save this country is to weed them out – not compromise with them. The first step is to get 0bama out of there and change the face of congress.
