Zombie Protesters Interrupt Special Olympics Event to Protest Wis. Gov. Walker

There’s protesting an event and exercising your First Amendment right, and then there’s dressing up as zombies and interrupting a Special Olympics event to trumpet your cause. I’m not sure many people will have much respect for the latter method, but that’s exactly what a group of protesters did today to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.

TheRealRevo.com explains:

Protesters in Madison today dressed up as zombies to protest an appearance by Governor Scott Walker at a get-together of the Special Olympics. They carried signs and interfered with the ceremony.

Do they think they are helping their cause by interfering with the Special Olympics?

At one point, the protesters even parade into the event and stand directly in front of the Special Olympians (pictured in green), blocking the athletes’ view:

The MacIver Institute has the video, during which one of the protesters defends the group’s actions:

It should be noted that the group remained silent throughout, but that doesn’t absolve them from being a distraction and stealing the moment from the Olympians at such an event.

      Just when I think encinom has pretty much hit the limits of buffoonery…that point of impossible idiocy is exceeded yet again.
      I had pretty much already concluded that encinom was the personification of ignorance and deceit, but I hadn’t, until now, realized that there was so much cruelty and heartlessnes in that mix as well. To even attempt to condone the behavoir, or justify the mindset of ANYONE that would even think of disrupting ANY event for the benefit of the Special Olympics for cheap political theatrics is truly inhuman.
      I has NO bearing on the episode who the governor is. The State of Wis. was represented there by it’s governor, and HE wasn’t making anything political out of the event. He was there to show some great kids and there families that THEY ARE APPRECIATED. That wonderful event was ruined to a large extent by a group of selfish, sub-intelligent, political pawns that only appeared at the event to self- promote THEMSELVES at the expense of some real, and hard working heroes.

      The youth have been taken over by the Stoics. They are the backbone of our education system and force Stoicism on the young people form Kindergarten. Stoic doctrine is the base doctrine of Henri Saint Simon, George Hegel and his students which include Karl Marx and his partner Frederic Engels also the Bauer brothers, and Feuerbach, it includes the likes of George Bernard Shaw.       If I had any sympathy for these union workers I lost all of it and any that may have been hiding in the corners of my heart when I read this. They are simply selfish greedy animals. I say fire all of them and take away all their benefits they personally did not pay into.       @Encinom – WI was blessed by God in November with the election of Gov Walker and the republican legislature. We will defeat the dems in the recall elections and Gov Walker will not be recalled. He is doing what is right for our state and there are more hard working private sector employees that are thankful for what he is doing (I even have several public sector union member friends that support his bold actions to getting our state fiscally stable). When we defeat the recalls in July/August, the rest of the country will be following suit. We will beat back the thuggary of the public sector employee union boss’ and their minions.

      Encinom, this is why elections matter. If you disagree with his politics, work to have him voted out. Instead, you side with people who use some of our most vulnerable citizens accomplishments to express your views. This was supposed to be a moment to celebrate these people and the hard work they’ve put in. It should be a shining moment for these athletes but no, instead it was turned into a disgusting display by teenage kids who are being used as “useful idiots.” Is this who you people really are?       As one of the liberal trolls on this website, I agree. This was pathetic. The Special Olympics really are special in more ways than the obvious one of these individuals training, working toward a goal, and putting themselves out there.

      The Special Olympics also promotes the idea that society may just want to help support these athletes in more ways than attending the event. They are truly the “meek” that Jesus spoke of.

      Disrupting this event, even if it was just Walker’s speech, is pathetic.

      Once again in my life I find that I’m a TREND SETTER and a LEADER!

      I live in downtown Madison and I’m FED UP with these hippie, communist protesters. On Sunday I walked up to the Capitol Police and DEMANDED they started arresting these b@stards for disorderely conduct. I told them it is OUR HOUSE TOO and WE DEMAND you arrest these pot smoking, petiole oil wearing pigs.

      Starting on Monday….packs of hippie communists were loaded into police cars for fingerprints.

      Encinom, I did everything I could to support the Special Olympics while I wrote for the newspaper. I put those kids’ scores in the paper, their pictures, their activities. They work hard to be on those Olympic teams. Some of those children come from disastrous homes. Their physical and mental limitations vary, but they work hard training and practicing, all to know that they have worked at something and have SUCCEEDED!

      Were those protesters supportive of Special Olympics? What do you think?! Oh, that’s right — you DON’T think. The protesters took advantage of someone else’s event to draw attention. The attention they drew was the wrong kind of attention. The protesters now have made themselves appear to be the real dirt bags that they ARE! They really remind me of you.

      Who in their right mind could possibly consider disrupting any event that is for these very Special Children? As an ELK volunteer, I have attended many of the competitions over the years and look foreword to them. You see the pure innocence and courage of these kids at every event that they attempt. Free speech or not, these Union Thugs who perpetrated this disruption should have consequences! The papers in Wisconsin should be full of outrage over this hideous act against these innocent children! Maybe someone should find out if any of these idiots were paid to be there?

      The protesting children depicted in the photos and videos don’t appear to understand why or how they are being used. Someday they will and at that point will also need personal psychological help.

      The adults that sent them there to protest are akin to the al Quedia members that strapped a bomb onto an 11 year old Down Syndrome boy during the national elections in Baghdad. He didn’t understand why he was sent and how the bomb worked.

      The “adults” involved in this demonstration probably don’t understand the trials, tribulations, failures, and disappointments the Special Olympians attending the event had to experience to get there. First they had to survive an abortion happy society that values human life below that of a minnow or owl. Then they had to overcome physical and mental handicaps; obstacles more daunting then a run across Omaha Beach.

      Now they have finally conquered all! They are about to be recognized for their years of effort, years of learning, practice, falls, hospitals, tears and rejections.

      Their moment was STOLEN by immoral, selfish, unthinking, THIEVES!
      The Top Organizing Thief in Chief and his demon-strator minions are going to have this video played for every person I can reach in this universe. I will post it day after day after day.
      I pray that the next election will result in Repeals, Impeachments, and Prosecutions. rip rip rip rip rip rip rip for every one of the sobs (D or R) in the senate, oval office, and house.

      To the “zombies” in this “protest.” Do you really think what you did was appropriate? It was a Special Olympics event, designed for children who are mentally challenged or physically challenged. Do you think taking away from those children did anything for you?

      Perhaps you can stop being zombies and actually start thinking. Instead of being led around by the progressive communists that have you brainwashed, try to actually educate yourself and learn the truth.
