  If I was at this hearing I would respond by saying “Miss, what you just said was one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.   I’m a New York City Firefighter and deal with emotionally disturbed people on medical runs everyday. More than often it’s a person we have dealt with before. Over the past ten years I have been unfortunate to know personally firefighters who have been exposed to disease passed through contact with body fluids. Imagine having to take the emergency HIV cocktail and waiting months for results. Imagine getting staph infection. Jabbed with a needle. You can’t touch your wife. Hug your kids. Lives have been ruined. This woman had a history. Her mental illness, though sad, does not lesson the danger faced by these officers. I’d rather her a sore jaw, then him a life altering disease. Sucks, it’s lose lose
