CNN’s Piers Morgan Confronts Rick Warren Over Whether People Are Born Gay or ‘Become Gay’: ‘I Think the Jury’s Still Out on That’
November 28, 2012 at 6:27pm
USEDCAR, the life expectancy argument is a red herring, as Christians rarely argue that we should ban other lifestyles that have known detriments to health. So long as one is not depriving others of life, liberty or property, they should be free to act accordingly. You don’t have to agree with their decisions, but you have no right to deny them their choice.
Here Are the Top 5 Conservative Thought Leader Responses to Obama’s Victory

ROTH wrote: “No I know that non-believers can be moral people. There are lots of them. However, unless you connect the Republic to the moral prerequisite it is unsustainable. That moral prerequisite has to come from somewhere. There has to be some force to do good in people’s lives. If it isn’t God then what?”
Morals are logical propositions, which must withstand intellectual scrutiny to be justified as being “true” or “false”. While natural law theorists like Grotius, Pufendorf, Hobbes, Hutcheson, etc. worked from the assumption that God was the author of these laws, they understood that “reason” was the device man had to use to determine such “natural laws”. To paraphrase Grotius -natural laws would be true, even if God did not exist.
Morality likely comes innately from man’s biology and is expanded upon by his rational capacity. Spencer makes the great point that even though he believes the moral sense is an innate quality, it does not control man. Just like hunger or thirst, man can ignore his instinct and drives.
Congress’ Only Atheist Loses His Re-Election Campaign After 40-Year Career

JOHN wrote: “If you lay under ground ‘dormant’ for six months, would this not be the same as death.?
I believe so, and I’m sure you do as well. The point is ‘resurrection’ in both cases.”
If humans did, then yes, we would be dead. The flower, no. That’s the beauty of scientific investigation. We can determine that what looks like a “lifeless flower” is really in a state of lowered metabolic rate, awaiting more suitable conditions. So, no. No resurrection in the case of the flower.
Congress’ Only Atheist Loses His Re-Election Campaign After 40-Year Career

JOHN wrote: “u may not appreciate his view, but he is correct. I have seen life from the dead-
its called a dormant flower bulb with no life in the dead of winter, it magically comes to life in the spring- nature is a powerful teacher-”
I’ll let you in on a little secret, John. “Dormant” does not equal “dead”. The flower is still alive during the winter.
MSNBC’s Matthews & Maddow Mock FOX News ‘Talent’: ‘People Who Wear Makeup & Have Cameras Pointed at Them’
November 7, 2012 at 2:06am
ROTH, Maddow actually argues against one of the Left’s most cherished memes: PAC money “stealing” elections. If Rove’s “hundreds of millions of dollars” didn’t “buy” the election then how can they argue for overturning Citizens United? That’s right, partisan hacks don’t care about reality.

1. You have ulterior motives for believing the things you believe.
2. It is more important to you to agree with your peers than to be ‘correct’
3. There is no such thing as objective truth. Even if such a thing were to exist, we have no access to it.”
You do realize that #3 undercuts everything you’ve said, right?
Libs Argue Romney’s Pro-Business Beliefs Partly Responsible for Deadly Meningitis Outbreak — But Wait Until You See What We Found

DORA wrote: “There was very little oversight of Wall Sl and the Banks. What planet are YOU living on?”
Obviously not the same planet you live on, since here on Earth the financial industries are heavily regulated. Saying “very little oversight” doesn’t make it so.

Since the clip, nor the article presents this argument, we’ll wait for you to provide us the legislation of MA that absolves compounding pharmacies from state regulation.
GOP Senate Candidate Richard Mourdock: Pregnancies Resulting From Rape ‘Something God Intended to Happen’
October 24, 2012 at 6:34pm
WALNUT wrote: “You, in a limited mind, should not claim his statement as idiotic. What authority on God are you? His ways are not our ways, as our thoughts are not His.”
He claimed his statement was idiotic because it cannot be supported by any evidence. Since Mourdock made the statement, and he is certainly not God, it can be judged by man.
What’s Good (& Bad) About the Mixture of Faith & Politics in America? Conservative & Liberal Faith Leaders Face-Off
October 19, 2012 at 5:48pm
PDUMAR, agreed. Bastiat eloquently explained that the problem with politics was its expansion into all sectors of life. At such a point, everything becomes a political struggle.
Politics should be constrained to very limited functions, allowing personal beliefs to govern one’s private life instead of using them to impose legislation on everyone.
