  • Help me understand this…like many on this board, I call myself “conservative”. I define that as someone who believes in a constitutionally limited government, individual freedoms, fiscal responsibility, and a strong national defense. Like many here, I truly hate it when the government comes in and says “you must believe this or accept this”. Everyone with me so far?

That said, here is the hypocrisy that marks where I and it seems most on this site diverge…I don’t want my government telling me ANYTHING about what I have to believe or accept because of the dogma of the party in power at the time. Some so-called conservatives believe that the government should reinforce “Christian values”, but how is that any different than enforcing “liberal values”, “gay values” or “black values”? I believe it is the role of the government to make certain that we each have the freedom to believe what we want to believe and live the way we choose to live.

Save your “we were founded as a Christian nation” speech…we were founded as a Constitutional Republic by Christians. Judeo-Christian values are in our laws, but we are not a religious state, and that was done on purpose.

My point…you are entitled to your personal feelings about the gay lifestyle and gay marriage. Just remember, when you speak out against conservatives who believe that every American should be counted and included, it is you who is the hypocrite and tyrant, not S E Cupp.

  • “Star Gate”…every time I hear a lazy reporter decide that the scandal dujour must be “___gate”, it makes me wish the break in happened at the WaterAss hotel. Would at least make future reporting more interesting.

  • “Receiving heavy flak…primary target below”

  • The Department of Agriculture administers a number of national programs, one of them being The Food Stamp Program.

This past year the Department of Agriculture announced that it had distributed the greatest amount of food stamp assistance in the history of the program.

Meanwhile, the Park Service, also part of the Department of Agriculture, asks :

“Please Do Not Feed the Animals” because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves.

I am not sure that they are seeing the correlation.

  • Anyone else notice that the unemployment rate hit its low right before the Dems took over the Congress and has DOUBLED since then. Check the deficit as well. After 9/11, the deficit dropped every year until the Dems took over in 2007. It grew in 2007 and 2008 and has been growing logarithmically ever since BHO took office.

While having a Dem in the White House is a problem, the ROOT CAUSE comes from having Dems control Congress, and thus the purse strings.

  • “The world owes us nothing but a grave. Everything else one acquires must be earned as a result of his industrious nature, given to him as a result of his good fortune, or stolen by him as a result of his amorality and sense of entitlement.”

  • Another little fact that AP fails to mention is that all “service” jobs where your primary income may be tips (servers, bartenders, valet, etc) are only required to be paid 1/2 of Federal minimum wage because of tips. Compare that to California where you are required to pay California minimum wage ($9.25/hr) on top of tips. Outside of oil & gas, Texas has a huge service sector and these jobs are dragging down the averages while the workers still make decent money.

  • So happy to see that Baghdad Bob has found a new gig.

  • The Dem in this race is one of the worst they could have put up. She is a corrupt LA City Councilwoman who used tax money to fund a “gang intervention” program. Problem is, she put current gang members on the payroll and even had her office make calls to have her “employees” released “OR” when they were arrested. One guy is now upstate for rape and murder, but he made certain to tell others “don’t join a gang”. Please, let the good guys win just one…
