  • Re: Racemosa7:
It is truly sad that you speak from ignorance of the Mormon Church, or many others as well. I would suggest that before falsely condemning other denominations than your own, you actually expose yourself to their teachings so that you can speak with at least a tiny little bit of knowledge and experience. That is of course if you have a faith and understand the concept of the “Golden Rule>” “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Frankly, that concept is the root of understanding needed to proclaim to be a person of faith.

It seems odd that you don’t understand the concept that many religious denominations took a long time to put women in prominent positions. Catholics have no female priests, Muslims have no women in any authoritarian religious positions and must worship separately as did many other religious organizations until the last 50 years or so. Could it be that you are simply showing your bigotry against Mormons?

Frankly, that is what I get from your comment. Women have held prominent positions throughout the Mormon Church at the congregation level for many years and I would not be surprised if priesthood would come to them eventually.

  • Re: Newtowns-Third-Law

It’s a sad commentary when your entire comment is to attack Mr. Kelly personally not to mention your insulting comment about his”doll” getting head shot.

I too find Mr. Kelly to be a hypocrite as evidenced by his actions and I don’t believe his childish excuse for making the gun purchases.

However, that does not give you the right to disparage Mr. Kelly’s military service in the Navy nor his volunteering to become an astronaut. of course your attack on the Navy Seals was the most disgusting of all.

I would ask you to limit your criticism to the actions of Mr. Kelly regarding his attempted gun purchases and leave it at that.

  • Congratulations to Dr. Carson for being an honest man and speaking from the heart. It’s seldom possible to see truth spoken so eloquently, especially in front of the President who doesn’t seem to have much of an acquaintance with the truth.

Where does your lack of understanding come from? Where and when does the Blaze reporting become B.S.? Oh, that’s right, in your imagination. I am disappointed in Wounded Warriors for this decision. Nowhere in the story did it indicate that the church requested anything other than to be able to raise funds on their behalf. The officials of Wounded Warriors in this case were foolish and disrespectful to the people trying to help them and the wounded warriors they are supposed to represent. A charity should accept money from any legitimate source no matter whether they are a religious organization or have any other affiliation that is legal and in accordance with American values. Religion, despite the argument of many progressives is still an acceptable American vlue. for that matter they should also accept donations from atheist organizations if they would be inclined to give their financial support.

You stated this in your comment

This is what you must know:
Absolutely. Now we conservatives have a black with Allen West, a woman with Michelle Bachmann, a gay with Rush Limbaugh, a Mexican with Marco Rubio (Mexican, Cuban, what’s the diff?), and now a Chinaman!

It continues to sadden me that people like yourself post insulting and rude comments on serious sites such as this. by showing us your ignorance and while I despise using the word “racist” I can’t help but expose you as a typical ignorant liberal racist. On the chance that somehow misunderstood your comment, then I would recommend a class in the English language. this from another proud American by choice.

    It is so.

  • I am truly amazed at some of the commentary that seems to indicate that many of the writers just don’t get the point of this article.

It is the sheer talent of the artist that shows his ability to make a painting look so lifelike that it is easily mistaken for a photograph. There are very few people in the world who have such a great talent. To talk about whether a photograph or a painting is better is irrelivent.

My respect is for the artist’s talent could not be greater.

  • Tawana Brawley Resurfaces in Virginia

    December 24, 2012 at 4:02pm

    In reply to DesertRose1960.

I do agree with you that some of the postings are very rude and I would ask the readers to make an effort to respond politely and with facts. Having said that, please keep in mind that Ms. Brawley was 15 years old, not a child and was manipulated by Al Sharpton and his cohorts.

However, she is no longer 15 and has shown no desire to apologize for the fraud she participated in all those years ago. She was instrumental in ruining the lives af several people by her false accusations. the fact that al Sharpton was a party to this fraud was certainly no surprise then nor is it a surprise now when he makes false accusations on a daily basis on CNN.

Al Sharpton has continued to display his racism and it is a sad situation when a once proud news network such as CNN has someone like Al Sharpton host a news/opinion show. CNN could sink no lower than it has during the last 20 years.

  • Re: longtalltexan,
Sir, I couldn’t agree with you more regarding the choice that SNL made regarding the presentation of Silent Night to commemorate the murdered children and teachers in Connecticut. For them to show class is of course unusual, but we thank them for their choice.

While I write this however, I am watching Sen.Dick Durbin spouting his gun control nonsense and trying to use this tragedy to push his control agenda. He has no class despite trying to cover himself by using the usual claptrap of assault weapons not being needed.

The second amendment guarantees the right of citizens to to keep and bear arms. “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” Please note the comma after the words, “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state,” That entire part of the sentence deals with securing a “free state.” The second amendment is not about hunting and other weapon sports, but about the right of U.S. citizens being able to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That desire for tyranny is constantly displayed by governments desire to take away the rights guaranteed by the second amendment.

The bottom line is that no law can eliminate the dangers of murderous acts committed by mentally unstable individuals. There is no such thing as a 100% guaranteed safety zone for anyone.

  • “So without the government training your father recieved, (sic) he would not have the skills to start his own business.”

“You Beckerheads are idiots and are being played by Knocked-Up Palin and the GOP.”

My question for the author of the statements above is the following. Exactly how did the training the army gave to a draftee teach him to start his own business. No one is denying that citizens of the U.S. get some training via the government, but that doesn’t mean that they can start business without their own efforts” Does having an infrastructure in place mean everyone can become successful businessmen, of course not as the tremendous failure rate of businesses testifies to. Only individual effort and hard work can lead to a successful business. The infrastructure that can be of help was in fact paid for by these same people, as the government is the only structure that can build roads and bridges. Of course that would leave out the fact that the original concept of roads and bridges was based on the individual ownership of toll roads and toll bridges. It’s amazing what you can learn if you bother to read a
    little history.

By the way thank you for proving my point about liberals not being able to comment with subs
