  • The job description of the President of the United States is a 24/7/365/4 job including being Commander and Chief of the Armed Services. The question is not only where was the President but was he available to carry out such duties. Do not assume anything with this administration. We can assume he retired early, we can assume he was a no show to keep distance, we can assume he didn’t show up because he needed the Benghazi attack to have no survivors to finger him and his plans. Do not assume anything. I take a “collective” view of the President’s job and his responsibilities ….. namely to not only be available but accountable for where he is at all times because it is of importance to the entire citizenry. There should never be a time when the question “where is the President” is “irrelevant”. So… why was President Obama AWOL????

  • This, and I would guess the last, administration forget that “the enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend” when it comes to jihad. Our non-religious (or “other” religious) leaders can not fathom the total dedication unto death of these opponents of the West. We missed out in Vietnam by not insisting the French live up to their promise to leave Indo-China. Locked in the Cold War, again, we may have missed out that Russia wasn’t totally crazy with the Afghan war. Hindsight doesn’t forgive all that was done, but we are living with that same heritage now. These are not “lone wolf” bombers in Boston.. they are an extension of jihad not becoming implanted in USA.

  • Schumer has been a long time advocate of lacing powder with “taggants” … coded particles for powder registration… these taggants make powder measuring imprecise screwing up reloading and potentially being dangerous to the shooter (which is the logical outcome). So, yes, it will come back into vogue. ANY flammable substance take care carries its own oxidizer will work.. These appear to be formidable devices, but from the flame that erupted from the blast rather “inefficient” but then so was the uranium bomb for Hiroshima… so it is all relative. They “worked” …. that is all that counts and somebody was very good at doing it.

  • Winner should be given a Barrett 50 BMG semi-auto! Best way to handle intimidation to push back really hard. If he good senator wishes to complain…do it in person in the infield… hopefully he’d get a whopping he needed. The Left is feeling there oats but this is nuts. If NASCAR goes PC then goodbye. I can remember when Richard Petty campaigned Chevies. My Dad bought his cars at “Banjo” Matthews Ford in Asheville. . #3 was for the Constitution I bet!

  • We must all become potential helpless victims to show we “care”. There is a lack of perspective. More dangerous to the families of victims is the Left saturating them with the idea that the only value attached to the lives of there kids is getting a law passed that has no direct action with the crime but a global agenda of putting everyone else at risk for far more loss. Saying “no” is now necessary … Not because we don’t care but because we do very much. A third of people faced with such tragedy recover and go on with life… a third float in limbo …a third never recover emotionally. Taking away something of value to many only extends the tragedy to others. Taking away essential liberties extends the damage to future generations..ie the children of today and tomorrow.

  • The liberals will embraced Stalin’s point that 170+ million dead is just a statistic. The children of Newtown died defenseless…. The Dems wish us to honor them by being just as defenseless. The true lesson is that all must be equal in weakness and helplessness. We must have a childlike faith in government and the Collective.

  • Nobody needs 12 cylinder engines. Nobody needs dual clutch Formula 1 transmissions. Nobody needs to be able to enjoy life.

  • A judge will conclude that “looking foolish” is enough punishment. The Collective must be tolerant of mistakes in order to implement their goals. The state has “rights” but bestows only temporary privileges to the people. Anyone owning a gun is in a “pre-crime” condition and suspect for potential thought crimes. Just be glad the police didn’t prophylactically off the guy.

  • Marlin is shut down for now and may be moved to either (gasp!!) New York or Kentucky. Reminds me of Browning selling guns made in Japan… which is a poster country for gun banners. Considering the vitriol spewed (leftists love that word) by Conn Dems why stay in Conn and be abused citizens of a mini-Marxist state? The Dems have made their stand…. they hate firearms ….. it is not about money … it is a pillar of their progressive religion…. use all means to gain control and then suppress all others to maintain power while progressing toward prog-topia. Canada has Quebec, we have ours. Tres mauvais!

  • We often gauge someone on outward appearances. Modern medicine can do much to patch up the appearance from damage but underneath… a different story. I have helped patch up people that underwent irreversible trauma with a “road to recovery” that was a never ending with setbacks and not the road they wished for nor wished on anyone else. However a “safer” life they wish (and legislate) on us may not be a “better” life. The “safer” life requires never ending trauma to the human spirit. I would suggest that we have undergone decades of attempts to make society “safer” with numerous social programs that have , in the end, promoted decay of society. Gun control is now a ban(daid) for these social failures. “Safer” only continues that decay.
