  • So, then… the Declaration of Independence was a declaration of independence from what…exactly?

  • The difference it *should* make is whether or not we impeach the lying, worthless Commander in Chief current in office. The cover-up was a political move so he could be re-elected (thus the real motive behind the question: “What does it matter now that Obama is back in power?”) We’ve seen what little regard he holds for his amassadors. What’s to stop the slimeball from driving the rest of the contry under a bus just to further his political agenda?

  • You really can’t “own” the means of production if you don’t control it. The difference between fascism and socialism is too small to tell there is a difference.

  • Just because the fight may be heading for defeat doesn’t mean you stop fighting the good fight.

  • @REALINDEPENDENT When are you liberals going to start looking at the real data and realize that even if you raise taxes on everyone – rich and poor alike, we still won’t have enough revenue to offset the current spending crisis? If you would actually do your homework, a lack of revenue is not the problem. Out of control spending is. And Social Security is only a part of that spending. There are other areas to cut. I really don’t think anybody wants to make cuts to Social Security. That’s why your god, Obama, offered it: because he knew it would be turned down. But how many “entitlements” do we need? Why do we need to keep adding more, and more, and more? I don’t see you talking about the other entitlements that the elderly and all of us (working people, at least) pay into that they or we will never see a dime of.

BTW, your handle, REALINDEPENDENT, on a liberal is a contradiction. Independence is the antithesis of security. You give up more independence the more you demand security. Even if you can honestly claim that Social Security is actually “secure” in the hands of an over-spending government, it doesn’t spell out “independence”. If the elderly cannot live “independently” from their Social Security, then, obviously, they are dependent on the government. Then it’s not REAL INDEPENDENCE, is it?

  • Whew, that was a close one… I just wanted to publicly say THANK YOU to the all-but-5 Republicans who voted against CRDP!

There are those who REALLY understand freedom; and then there are those who are way too eager to sign unnecessary treaties with the UN. As a loving parent of a special needs child, I am more that relieved that this bundle of “good intentions” was not ratified to become pavement on the road to you-know-where.

Requiring that “Children with disabilities shall be registered immediately after birth…” doesn’t sit well with me. It’s bad enough for a national government to require such a registration by law, but I see absolutely no reason for the UN to have such a registry. There is too small of a gap between registering the disabled under the good intentions of protecting their rights and the “good intentions” of “encouraged” euthanasia, or worse (just Google-search “nazi euthanasia program” and see how well registering their special-needs kids worked out).

Registration is another word for segregation and I oppose it.

  • My favorite part is when the mom says, “We’re not going to show it to anybody.” …..and then it winds up on U-tube. HA!

  • 1. Atheists are the “wedding crashers” of Christmas. I don’t understand why anyone would want to celebrate something they don’t agree with the origins of. For instance, even though I’m sure Jews have a blast celebrating Yon Kipper, I don’t necessarily feel the urgency to be “included” with its celebration. [Disclaimer: I have nothing against Jews; this was only an example. Lighten up.]

    2. For being a “non-attack”, this movement by the atheists sure seems to have Christians square in their cross-hairs. In other words, I don’t hear of any other religions being asked to take their fundamental theology out of their celebrations.

So, to condense Penn’s argument: “If Christians can’t take Christ out of Christmas, then I feel left out. Shame on them for being so selfish.” Hey, Penn, nobody’s un-inviting you from Christmas except yourself!

  • Where’s the happy face? Can is smile? It must be a liberal: I only saw fear, disgust, amazement and anger.

  • He’s really using evolution to defend gay marriage? It seems too simple to point out the screaming contradiction: Ain’t no “evolving” gonna happen in a gay marriage anyways. Now that I think about it, maybe we should start supporting gay marriage; it just might be a good way to “thin the herd.”
