JPM you’re referring to the RIP (Radically Invasive Projectile) that uses a trocar design for the “teeth” of the hole saw and upon impacting a solid (or semi-solid) surface begins to break the trocars off and send them spreading throughout the target. Only reason I don’t like these rounds is that they are significantly lighter than their traditional brethren (loss of knock-down power) and if you don’t land a solid center mass shot (highly plausible on a moving target) then one of the trocars can pass through the body and injure someone nearby. I’ll stick with my Hornady hollow points for the time being. Check this out… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POi35ozcgZs
Well said, sir. You know what you're talking about.

Agree with you completely. Part of the 80 hours a year could include judo, krav maga, or whatever to teach a teacher how to handle a student who may outweigh him/her and keep them away from the firearm.

“because teachers in higher grades will not carry guns.”
Worst part about this is that the majority of mass shootings in Jr. High and High Schools are perpetrated by students, so no change in the risk at those schools…
Thank you booger71…finally someone else who sees that he wasn’t targeting the PP, but took cover in it when the cops arrived and shot back. See how that works? When a man with a gun gets shot at, he runs away. Seems to me the best way to end situations like the PP shooting and the TERRORIST attack in CA would be for citizens to, oh I don’t know, SHOOT BACK!

I keep hearing people say that he shot up the PP, but in reality he shot up the folks outside in the strip mall parking lot, rigged some propane tanks near his car (probably to shoot at them and try to blow them up), and sought refuge in the PP when officers arrived and shot back. Not one person that I have heard of that was shot was from the PP clinic. Seems like this narrative was out of the gate early and is dominating the story. Maybe he chose the strip mall because it was packed with stores and people…just saying.

“I don’t think people should riot there, but if there is ever a case where there was no justification for the actions taken by LEO, this is one for sure.”
Says you based on a 30 second video. How long have you been practicing law or worked as a law enforcement officer?
You do realize that this is the same 30 second clip the police chief used to justify this man's death sentence without due process, right?
"Says you based on a 30 second video. How long have you been practicing law or worked as a law enforcement officer?"
Not sure why that matters. Neither of those things is required to have an opinion on the matter.
Practicing lawyers turn into Obama. We see evidence of police corruption every day. Your argument is weak.

Funny how that works…

Saying that gun control legislation (of which there is already plenty) will keep those intent on doing harm to others from acquiring firearms is absurd. How many billions have we spent in the “War on Drugs” and yet they are still easily obtained and prevalent on the streets. The same will/would happen with firearms if they are banned completely. People would either smuggle in or manufacture their own. You cannot stop someone from doing something if they are truly dedicated to doing it. By stripping firearms from everyone else, you are only increasing the pool of potential victims and allowing freedom of movement for the victimizers.

johnbarly, the police were originally at the residence to speak with his mother about a false 911 call. He assaulted one of the officers when he claims the officer “pushed her down” and then he actively resisted. If the officer was wrong in pushing his mother, then that should be dealt with accordingly, but attacking an officer and then resisting is not usually advisable. Getting the officer’s name, badge number, supervisor’s name and contact info, etc…is the preferred method for lodging a complaint against an officer. Now when he tries to file said complaint, it will be tainted with the fact that he attacked and resisted…
Thanks - got it. So if a brave, heroic, armored, armed member of the union assaults - the legal definition - a woman/ mother then all the male folk should thank the kings' man for the service.
No wonder why unions want the public disarmed and feminized!
Hmmm, not saying that is the case here - but there are no shortage of brave, heroic, armored, armed union members attacking children, women, elderly, don't forget puppies and months or years later a blood payment made without apology.
Well your information sure helps me understand what is going on. However, it confuses me more since I recall our founders (now identified as domestic terrorists) got all bent out of shape because a different Kings' men were abusing them.
Everything old is new again.

They correctly referred to the part of the weapon as the “magazine well” to be more specific than the entire lower receiver. You nit-picked that, but missed their description of the rifle that included the term “assault rifle”. Obviously since there is not an option to go full-auto, it is not an assault rifle. If you’re going to nit-pick, at least pick at the right things.

As someone who has spent the last 13 years in service, I recognize your right to your opinion, but now I’m going to exercise my own rights and give you my opinion. Yes we expect to be taken from our families from time to time and yes I’ve missed a lot of events surrounding my two kid’s lives, but I gotta tell you, you’re missing the point of the story. His fellow officers stepped in to represent him as part of the family for a day that I’m sure his little girl views as important. That’s what those of us who “make our living off the tax dime” do for each other. Frankly, I feel bad for you since it appears that you don’t have anyone close enough to you who is willing to take their own time and effort to be there for one of their brothers when he can’t be. Some of the closest bonds I’ve ever experienced have been with the family I CHOSE (my brothers and sisters in arms), and I feel just a pinch of pity that many will never experience something so profound and fulfilling. In short, I acknowledge your opinion and respect your right to it, but frankly I think you’re a jacka$$.

It’s situations like this that have made me an admirer of Dwayne Johnson for a long time. Personally, I think the way he treats others, takes care of his family (especially his mother), and is genuinely interactive and outgoing with his fans are all aspects that add up to him being a great role model for others (young and old alike). Keep up the good work Mr. Johnson and congrats to the new couple, especially Mundy. Yowza!

I don’t think the officers did anything wrong leading up to the shooting, or the act itself, but I do have a problem with their actions following the shooting. I may be mistaken, but I’m fairly certain that they are required to perform life saving measures when an injury occurs. Shouldn’t they have attempted to stop the bleeding or at least attempt to save the man’s life? Again, I would have done the same in their situation, but I’m pretty sure they should have at least attempted some life saving measures after the fact.
The guy didn’t charge the cops or nothing. Surely they could have rushed the guy with one cop going for the hand with the screwdriver. Once that hand was secured the threat to the cops was eliminated. Don’t they teach cops unarmed combat any more? It’s just shoot, shoot, shoot!!
