Squid, I agree with a lot of your points, but I would also encourage you to search the web for Bono’s “Coexist Speech” he gave during a concert performance of “Sunday Bloody Sunday”. I’ve been a fan of U2 since the early 80s, but this chanting of his made my flesh crawl. He is at very least a universalist – not someone who truly believes Christ is the ONLY path to salvation.

REstoredOne – here’s one link to confirm the story: http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/01/31/us-usa-shooting-atlanta-idUSBRE90U18Y20130131

Don’t give up on the remnant in the North! There are true believers here with me, and we need your prayers for both Spiritual and Political awakening in our region!

Culpergang – you said a mouthful about Snopes. Snopes.com has been debunked for being a leftist propaganda tool on previous stories – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snopes. I remain on the fence about Sandy Hook – the video does not lie about blocked parking lot exits, lack of emergency vehicles within immediate proximity to the school after all was done, etc. What I AM convinced of is that I believe this government is CAPABLE of perpetrating something like this, even if they didn’t do this particular event.

I did it – sick of hiding in the shadows. If they come for the guns, then we all know the time to sit back and let it happen is long over. God help us all if it comes to that.

LOVE the inequity here – so many people go up in arms about a racial slur about someone who has incited racism and class warfare in our nation – but how many of those same moonbats defended that “artist” that desecrated the image of the Lord and Savior in urine? 1st Amendment applies to ALL – even when you don’t like it. I didn’t like the statue in pi$$, but you didn’t see me threatening the individual – just offering . Apparently, many of the folks that are most upset about this poor likeness eating fruit worship Obama more than the Christ? Let the statue eat watermelon. The Left does more to perpetuate racism on a national scale WAY more than this guy might do on a local scale. And if you don’t like it? Stop looking at it. It is (for the time being) still a free country.

This just PROVES that gun laws don’t work – heck, even the MEDIA doesn’t obey them. :P

WASP, where does it say that in the Bible that Mary was a Gentile? In fact, if you read through the Gospels, you will actually see there are two different lineages listed for Jesus, both in Matthew 1, and in Luke 3 beginning at verse 23. Because of the differences in the lines, one is believed to be Mary’s line, one is believed to be Joseph’s. Additionally, if Mary was a Gentile, then Joseph would not have even been entertaining the idea of marrying her before the angel appeared to him, and especially not if she was pregnant before he’d been with her. Also, in Luke ch1 we have Elizabeth identified as Mary’s cousin and John the Baptist’ mother, described as being a descendant of Aaron, Moses’ brother – confirming both her and Mary’s Jewish bloodline.

Funny – YouTube already pulled the video? Gee…I wonder why? Not because it’s PROVING that racism doesn’t just come from ignorant white stereotypes? I am not a racist – I let each person’s character speak for themselves…but stereotypes exist because there was a grain of truth behind it at some point. Seriously, people…BE SMART. ARM YOURSELVES. USE your God-given, unalienable rights affirmed in the Second Amendment before they’re stolen by the Nanny state. BE ALERT. Do not be so publicly drunk to make yourself a target, and unable to defend yourself. DO NOT GO INTO A BAD NEIGHBORHOOD ALONE. I don’t care what color predominantly fills a rough neighborhood – we have plenty of rough neighborhoods in the north too – with a high percentage of whites in them – and I wouldn’t wander through them at night half in the bag. Not saying he deserved it – just saying stupid is as stupid does. Not saying they should have done what they did – just saying a pack mentality comes with the territory. I do think it’s ironic that it happened BEFORE Trayvon, and there wasn’t a big hooplah about this one…

LOL – that thought crossed my mind as well…is the teacher good-looking? :D

I have to say there are always at least two sides to every story. I remember as a young student being very taken with several of my teachers – and I also know that some comments made were certainly NOT appropriate. Given that youngsters these days have more “knowledge” about things than I did at the same age means that it’s entirely possible that the boy DID say something more than he’s telling, and that it could have even been graphic and quite offensive in nature. Certainly not enough facts here to make a case one way or the other.

There are definitely some mind-clouding facts mixed in with their Leftist violent rhetoric. Encouraging violent revolution is sedition. We, as a country, may be heading that way – but I don’t believe we’re there yet. Also, the person or people authoring this piece CLEARLY do not understand the weight and sacrifice of a civil war. We are not even close to needing a second revolution or civil war – not when protesters are eating three square meals a day (even if it’s peanut butter); not when protesters have the legal means and resources to PUBLISH material; not when we can move freely to and from our homes.

The system is fragile. It is imperfect. It may even be in need of repair. But I do not believe it is time to take up arms. That will be our very most extreme last and most dreaded option, after all others have TRULY been exhausted – and it will come at a time when the entire country is ready to unite. While we have so many divisions among us even at comparable levels of class or status, it proves that the situation is not bad enough to truly unite us.

Hello! Anyone ever hear of CALEA? “Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act”, passed in 1994. ALL Telecommunications companies or ISP’s in America are already either recording all your internet activity or gearing up to do so. I know this, because it’s part of my job to retrieve your internet activity if we get a subpoena from the courts. Google it, people. It’s already part of our country’s laws. To add to it, there is legislation brewing that will attempt to require all network providers to track all IP addresses they issue for X period of time to assist said subpoenas for internet activity. Big Brother IS watching.

As pi$$ed as I am about the Wisconsin riot and other black groups rioting against whites, I hold just as much disgust and contempt for these pieces of white trash for perpetrating such a heinous act against an innocent, random black man. Folks, we have enough racist trash going around from the LSM to fuel TWO civil wars at this point. White people need to keep their wits about them, not throw gas on the fire as these idiots did. Black people need to realize that riots like Wisconsin do nothing to help their cause – it just throws gas on the other fire. Seriously, folks – forget about class wars, race wars, etc. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT OUR GOVERNMENT AND THE MEDIA IS DOING TO US AS AMERICANS! That’s where our anger should be directed – but only as non-violent, Constitutionally grounded, righteous anger.

Easy on the generalizations, Rubicon. I am a born and bred Mainer, and DISGUSTED with the liberal rag that is the Press Herald. By the way, I believe Maine is on the way to taking it’s state back from the Lieberals this next election.

  • September 14, 2010 at 9:56am

Typical liberal response – “if you disagree with me, you’re a hate-mongering racist.”

  • September 14, 2010 at 9:43am

As a born and bred Mainer, I hang my head in shame at the Press Herald’s behavior. That said, I’ve known for some time that they are a progressive rag, and burning it each time a free sample is dropped in my mailbox brings me great satisfaction. I also believe the apology to be a pacifier – they knew full well that they were making a conscious choice to honor the Muslim celebration rather than the 3000 Americans that died 9 years ago. I don’t care if it was a full front page apology. “We have acknowledged that we erred by at least not offering balance to the story” is not an apology. It’s a “we’re sorry we got caught pushing an agenda”.

Portland Press Herald, may you be no more than compost and ash for all Conservative Mainers trying to regain a sane hold on our state.
