  It is sad that no one thought to fight back against the ice. Ice is made of water, which is heavy. Just a bit of extrapolation would have predicted the result once the wall of ice reached the houses.

  How about renting a Bob-cat mini bulldozer and making passes along the front to divert or move as much ice to the side as possible? This is Minnesota so somebody must know a friend with a plow on the front of their pick up truck. Afterwards you split the cost with all the affected homes and for the price of two movie tickets you can have a fun afternoon of pretending to be “Mr. Plow”.

  No attempt was made to save the patio furniture whether it was theirs or their neighbor’s. Did anyone move valuables and furniture away from the buckling walls and windows?

  Instead they recorded a video and posted it on the web.

  And for the record, I have witnessed a homeowner defending his poorly located home on a riverfront lot. It was sited on a curve and the spring thaw was carrying ice downstream. At this bend it was pushed up and over a 15 foot berm. He worked all night with a tractor to keep the constant assault of bed-sized slabs of ice from crushing his house.

  The palestinians want to run their own country yet cannot master the simple tasks of wipe and flush. Their ‘culture’ should either first fast forward ten centuries into the present or rewind ten centuries to the Roman Era to study and implement basic sanitation protocols and procedures.
