  • It always amazes me that the most ignorant among us (on guns) are the ones writing the legislation.
I wonder, to what “element of surprise” is she referring regarding a shotgun?

  • Guns and the Video Game Blame

    April 20, 2013 at 11:47am

    In reply to Eye_of_Horus.

Here’s the thing. If I don’t want MY kids playing, they WON’T be playing it.
    Period.
I don’t need the government making that decision for me.

As far as attempting to create a correlation between violent video games and actual violence, it’s a bit of the “chicken and the egg” argument. Are those that commit violent crime doing so BECAUSE THEY ARE DRIVEN BY the video games, or are they simply violent people that are drawn to that aspect of these games?
Are we to assume that the violent crimes they committed wouldn’t have taken place in absence of these games? There are no facts to support that argument.
To me, it seems to be senseless, feel-good, finger pointing to cast blame on a video game instead of the sick individual perpetrating the act.
If we go down the road of banning a video game because some insist it MAY inspire a few sickos to commit violence, where do we stop the “ban-wagon”?
Should we ban all depictions of violence in movies as well?
Should we also ban writing about violence in books?
    Shouldn’t we include newspapers ?
That is the logical cascade of action if we take the “ban” path.
    I say NO.
I don’t need the government to tell me how to raise my kids.

  • I appears to me that they felt the net closing in on them and moved to “phase two” , a MUMBAI style slaughter and final stand. They were armed with guns and explosives when they jacked that SUV. They weren’t simply trying to slip away quietly (they had 4 days to do that if they wished).
I think they wanted to try and kill as many as they could before they got what they deserved.
Look at the carnage and chaos that these 2 caused.
I fear that next time it won’t be 2, but perhaps 6,8, or more.

  • So far, we don’t KNOW what Trayvon was doing that fateful night.
Anyone here pretending to KNOW what happened is simply guessing.
    Either way.

  • “but concerns have surfaced that the vigilantes may be violating the law, the human rights of people they detain, or even cooperating with criminals in some cases.”

Now these folks are showing a bit more than “concern” after suffering under the corrupt and abusive police force and govt. that works in concert with the cartels.
Eventually people will strike back and protect their own.
    Good for them.

  • Gotta love the 10/22.
These caliber conversion sleeves have been around for a long time, but this is the first that I’ve seen sold as a set.
As you’re shooting from what amounts to a pistol length barrel, the velocity reduction of the rifle calibers would be greatly reduced.
It’s kind of cool, but for me, I’d rather put my money into reloading components.

  • This tool is no “gun owner”.
He’s merely either some paid actor, or know-nothing political hack lending a hand for “the cause”.
    FAIL

  • Isn’t it strange that this report got NO MENTION AT ALL from the “news” agencies. I would think that this information would be plastered all-over the WH website as evidence to back their assertions about “assault weapons”.
It’s a damned thing when the facts don’t support the ideology they’re pushing.

  • Where is the police report and why hasn’t it been released?

  • People actually try to tell you that “there is no more racism or bigotry”?
I find your statement dubious, a straw-man tactic.
I’ve not heard anyone say racism doesn’t exist. It has always existed.
It will exist as long as humans exist.
And if you haven’t noticed, racism is perpetrated by ALL races.
