  • As always, there will be lessons learned from this disaster. Some of that “Stimulus Money” needs to be spent on increasing the structural integrity of existing schools in areas where these storms hit frequently. Zoning laws need to change to mandate 250 mph rated “safe room” construction in all new homes, storm shelters need to be mandated in all mobile / modular home parks, and provisions made to encourage people to retrofit their homes with safe rooms.

The weather services did a wonderful job warning people and police/fire/rescue services have done a spectacular job in providing care for the injured and trapped.

However, community training of “neighborhood watch” type groups to coordinate local rescue BEFORE the arrival of the professionals is something that needs to be looked into. The need for neighborhood response teams has been demonstrated time and time again in mass disasters that are just too large for existing public safety units to handle.

Katrina, Sandy, Joplin, Greenfield, and again Moore show the need for more civilian responses to start the rescue process prior to the arrival of the the regular government agencies or when there is just too much damage for them to get everywhere they are needed.

People, WE have to start to be more responsible for our own lives and property instead of demanding more and more government to deal with it and saving our own lives depends on us.

  • He’s one of Bin Laden’s kids.

  • Bob Beckel, next to a man who has not only saved literally thousands of lives but who has forgotten more than the last 3 or 4 generations of your sub-evolved worm ancestors have every known – you are a fat, stupid, rectal pimple on a fetid, rotting baboons carcass. STHU.

If you live to be a thousand you will never do as much for your fellow man as Ben Carson did in his first 30 years of life.

  • I’m sure the fact that – thanks to Barry’s unending efforts to wreck our economy and build up the Caliphate – more and more of the money that comes into Hollywood (both by investments AND by profits) is coming from the Sandworms.

Not only does Arab money influence Hollywood, they are also very sensitive to pressures from the Muslim Brotherhood cells in the US (not to mention INSIDE the Obama administration) all of which are assuredly starting to bring the shadow of Sharia even over our entertainment venues. Violence is not only acceptable but encouraged (so long as the right groups – white Christians, Israeli’s, white businessmen, Hindu’s, Russians) are the targets of it.

You will see more bodies covered – first at the movies, then eventually TV as the Muslim outcry grows stronger and Hollywood’s fear of confrontation gets more pronounced. Facing law-abiding Christians was one thing – Hollywood could always find a politician or judge to slap them down, and years of indoctrination have rendered the Christian community gutless and without respect. Everyone fears an enraged Muslim – even judges and big-mouthed Libs and so Hollywood will be brought to heel – not by a morally outraged America but by threat of Muslim violence and Saudi money.

    How …. poetic.

  • It be even better if next week the same Billboard said: Downpayment on Condo in Boca $20k, Attorney fees $75K –

… being appreciated, talked to with a joyful attitude and ENTHUSIASTICALLY made love to 3 or 4 times a week by a sexy lady who knows she is beautiful and enjoys being touched …

….Verses being grudgingly “allowed” sex 2 or 3 times per year, and not nagged incessantly by a shrill-voiced hypocritical shrew who only wears baggy, worn-out,sweats at home and whose only consuming passion is telling other people how they are messing up their lives – PRICELESSS.

  • I wonder why people have forgotten that RP has always been one of the 911 Truthers. He has always said that he wanted 911 investigated, that he didn’t think Al Qaeda caused the destruction of the WTC and that Islam isn’t a threat to the US. He’s consistent in his views on it even though these days he tends to try to spin folks away from direct statements about his view on this subject.

He wouldn’t have killed bin Laden ANY WAY … he doesn’t think bin Laden has caused us any harm.

  • Unfortunately Pahrumper probably has it right. Political appointees and an CYA mentality have ruled NASA since the end of Apollo. BOTH shuttle accidents were caused by gutless managers who were far more concerned with the consequences of stopping a mission than they were about flight safety.

  • Time for somebody to publish the addresses of the family members of the newspaper, where their kids go to school, where they go to church, their doctor’s offices, maybe release their personal financial info … where’s Anonymous at?

    In reply to shorelineliz.

I suspect some years down the road that we’ll find out that MM and PM have been pedo-pooling together on trips to places like Thailand and Brazil for the purposes of enjoying the supplications of preteens of one persuasion or another.

  • I’ve had worse.

As teenagers, my brother and I were working a summer grounds keeping job at an old refinery in during the summer the original movie Alien came out. We had to start work very early – a couple hours before the sun came up and even on a normal day – walking thru the dimly lit and pipe-lined passageways of the refinery was a bit spooky (before sun-up it looked very much like the inside of the ship from the movie).

One morning my brother faked not wanting to start working and I left him at the main building and drove our tractor out to the plant to pick up our gear for the day. Most of the stuff was in a shed at one end of the plant, but, we’d left a couple shovels at the other end the day before and I headed down the main passage to retrieve them.

While I had been loading the tractor, the little sneak had run down along the fence, climbed up thru the maze of piping and walked on top of the pipe runs down to the middle of the passage – right to where one of the lights had failed – where he had wrapped his legs around the piping above the walkway.

Here I come walking in the dim light, thinking about the movie, a bit spooked about the occasional creaks and clicks in the old plant – and at the darkest spot, this figure swings down from the pipes overhead snarling and growling … teeth an inch from my face. It was about 15 minutes before I could steady my legs enough to even walk – let alone run him down to give the beating he so richly deserved.
