Attack as you will. Perhaps you are the extremist along with the Catholics, the Jews, the Baptists, the men, the women, the children. Anyone who disagrees with the powers that be are to be the “extremists”. Use caution as you point the finger of guilt. Read your history to understand that all too often that finger comes back around and the guilt falls on all too many. The propensity of government policies that write law too complicated for any one to read or understand implicates everyone in “breaking the law”. All to soon, we are all criminals and extremists, subject to arrest and interrogation and incarceration. Welcome to the machine. Calm down and point away. You are the criminal too… you were right on one point…it is a war.

Let’s just wait and see what else the sequestration cuts will effect. Maybe the WH Christmas tree lighting and decorations. No WH tours, such a shame.
HOLIDAY tree! Kidding aside-April/May is going to be a rollercoaster ride for all of us.

Thank you for this post.

I’ve disagreed with government policy before…I think starting with the Johnson administration. I was too young to know anything with the Kennedys. I waited patiently on line for gas during the Carter administration. I wondered how an actor could be the competent president that he became. Though I disagreed with Clinton, I had and have a respect for he and the Mrs. Then there are the Bushes. I held them with respect then disappointment. But never, no never have I been afraid of my own government. How can they ban the very weapons they hoard? Government of the people, by the people and for the people is perishing in my lifetime.

I’m shocked by the ignorance of the commentators. Really…it grows back…southern rednecks? It’s no wonder not one of these comments is accompanied by a real name.

There is nothing more dangerous than a pompous Democrat who thinks that if you throw enough money at it, you can control the weather. Dear Senator Kerry, please go invest a couple of million dollars in RECs. That will make up for the outrageously extravagant lifestyle enjoyed by you and your family. We forget that you must be a product of our public school system where the liberal agenda is always correct and our children are taught that they themselves are gods. So please, by all means, spare a bit of rain for the midwest.

So we can’t all be Billy Graham. What should we say then?

That’s a comment to the point. Do away with an entire branch of government. Having trouble balancing the presidential proposed budget. No more Department of Education. That should take care of some of the bureaucratic glut. Our children, our families, our schools, our communities are under attack. Shame on the autocrat who took away the lunch prepared with love by her mom and gave her government swill. We should all get used to it. It’s 1984.

Are there no laws to protect children from assault in Israel? Arrest the radicals. They can obviously see who is taunting children and parents as they go to the school. So where are the police in all this?

Do you think that maybe there might be an overindulgence of alcohol or perhaps some more sinister substance at play here for Mr. Baldwin.

And you who are so sure that you know God and how he has and will manifest himself in this world and the next, be sure that you do not limit his love and mercy by your own understanding.

I’m just not real sure about this one. You haven’t heard word one about the leaders on this hike. How could they “lose” one of their hikers. Seems pretty irresponsible.

I feel sorry for you that your world is so singularly colored thereby robbing you of a wider cultural outlook. Fear and hate from anyone is just fear and hate. Guard your heart and mind that you don’t become what you fear and obviously hate.
August 14, 2011 at 10:37am
Shame Shame on Nancy P. To believe these “liberals”, you would think that an entire population is motivated by nothing other than hate. I suggest that all of the finger pointing and accusations end. It’s just tired and untrue. As a child I learned that whatever I say, bounces off of you and sticks to me. Bounce.

Fraud is everywhere, but one of the largest legal assemblies is in Washington, D.C… a true conflagration, eating away at the wealth of our nation.

Who cares if the Dems got nothing. Sad truth is that the American people got nothing, no substantative spending cuts, no balanced budget amendment. We lose. And so Caeser fiddles while Rome burns. It’s a high price to spend for a re-election.
