  • Let folks look up the picture of the massacred indians lying in the snow at Wounded Knee and the message of turning in one’s guns is brought current to today’s gun grab by the left. Tom Jefferson has that quote about when the people fear the government we have tyranny. A recent survey showed 46% of the poll were more afraid of the gov’t than they were of a terrorist attack. So using Native Americans to illustrate the untrustworthiness of our gov’t is poignant and drives home the point.

  • Anyone know why White Castle chose its name and iconic ‘castle’ archithecture? Hamburger was somewhat a mystery meat in its early days. WC wanted to elevate the hamburger and the meat in the eyes of the public, thus “White” and “Castle.”

  • I’m not surprised. UK has some very vociferous fans, over the top even. I also heard they were tweeting the RMU coach with some vile, vulgar taunts before the team even deplaned. I watched the game and wondered how UK was a No 1 seed. Then I realized this group had their heads still in the clouds, believing they should win just because they walk onto the court. This attitude must be earned. One cannot win based on the attitudes and hard work of deserving former teams. UK may have the winningest program in the NCAA–I just had tro get that in, but they also have some of the worst baggager: point shaving, racism (Rupp and is runts), player payments (the reason Pitino was hired to clean up the program) and vaious NCAA sanctions. I’m a fan. I’m not fanatical.

  • I’m not surprised. UK fanatics are vehement, over the top even. I watched the RMU-UK game and wondered how UK was a No 1 seed. Their loss was due to their arrogant attitude, trying to live by the reputation built by hard working talented former teams. This ignominious defeat should serve as a wake up call to any team that would expect to win just by gracing the hardwood with its presence. UK may be the winningest program in the NCAA, but it also has a lot of baggage: point chaving, racism (Rupp not recruiting any black players until he was handed his head by an upstart Texas Weatern [Now UTEP] team of all black kids), player payments and various NCAA sanctions. I’m a fan, not fanatical. The Ole Miss star Henderson has it right, “It is only a game.”

  • Just watched a recorded episode of The Mentalist in which the plot centered around a rehab facility for injured war veterans with TBI affecting memory. While the show exposed many day-to-day problems these soldiers had to deal with, the star’s giving one soldier a memory technique and using him to trap the perp struck me as trivializing their plight. I think this is too serious a condition for such a fanciful treatment.

  • With USAF marking means it was probably launched from a base in or around the Gulf coast. The USAF has its own navy whose mission is drone recovery. Drones have been used for 50+ years. I don’t think they give rewards for returning one, but there could be penalties for not.

  • He really, really wants to have da Prez’s baby. Let’s git dem boxers and ankles in the air. Woohoo!

  • I don’t care. I just want him to swear on a Bible. Swearing in on anything else allows him to say one thing and do another. Oh, sorry. He’s doing that now and he used a Bible in 2008. Nevermind.

  • More hollywood than historical. Why not Dolly Madison and Abigail Adams or Mary Todd Lincoln; Harriet Tubman, Mother Theresa, Margaret Thatcher, Eleanor Roosevelt, Sacagawea, Susan B. Anthony, etc. Dress up like a madam and explain how they influenced concealed weapons and voting. That should stir conversation.

  • …and Van Jones is the enema.
