  • There were 2 victims- Maj Gen Joseph D Brown, IV and a female passenger (no name released yet). His official title was Major General of the Eisenhower School at Fort McNair, a premier Department of Defense national security training school in Washington, D.C.

  • The celebration that took over social media after this mess was all done made me wanna slap the s#!t outta some people!! These fools locked themselves in their houses all day and emerged to declare Boston to be the toughest city in the country and when I thought it couldn’t possibly get anymore ridiculous, someone posted a picture of the Boston skyline with the message “bin laden- 3576 days tsarnaev- 5 days”……yankees are gonna be the death of us all

  • that precious angel must’ve just received his First Communion…..I recognize the banner that he’s holding because I made one just like it when I was his age over 20 yrs ago

  • check out this website on Chicago….it collects the data from the redeye site and puts it into graphs and charts, keeping a running total for the year……

  • they don’t have the details of what happened that night anyways…..get the book “No Easy Day” if you want the real story….there was no video feed streaming into the situation room and the pic was staged!! the SEALs used a satellite radio to report to their commander that they got UBL
“For God and country, I pass Geronimo,” Jay said. “Geronimo E.K.I.A.”

  • This is straight from the book “No Easy Day”
“I was astonished. We’d kept this whole thing under wraps for weeks. Now, Washington was leaking everything, and we were going to get the lecture for it. It felt like it was only a matter of time before some of our names appeared on the news. We just killed the number one terrorist in the world. The last thing we needed was our names attached to it. We simply wanted to fade back into the shadows and go back to work.”
BTW, if that is supposed to be a pic of the raid, then they don’t have the details because the guys roped in and landed on the roof. It’s obvious that they didn’t speak to any of the guys that were actually there and I strongly recommend getting the book “No Easy Day” if you want the truth and not just a “bad action movie” which is how the SEALs described the reports following the raid!!

@SGTB I’ve lived in Va Beach my entire life and it’s definitely true that the money spent on the military fuels local economies. The government is actually supposed to provide us with a military and the money they earn in their paychecks is what is then spent elsewhere (I’ve bartended in both Norfolk and Va Beach and could probably have gotten by financially on tips from the military alone). With the sequestration cuts coming up, we’ve had several studies on the effects they will have to the economy and the first people to feel the pain will be the small businesses according to economists from all ends of the spectrum. Va Beach had most of its growth in the 70s and 80s mostly because of NAS Oceana. We had a sustained 50%+ growth rate and now Va Beach is the most populous city in the state. Almost half of the economy in the region is dependent on the defense industry today.

  • wasn’t Ventura leaving the country a long time ago or something?? guess that didn’t work out so well….bet he planned it to turn out differently when he was grandstanding and delivering his rant against the gov’t……or he just likes to hear himself talk

  • To all of you who seem to be so troubled that these FORMER SEALs have decided to give the public a glimpse into what their lives were like really should calm down just a bit…..they know what’s at stake if sensitive info were to be publicized!! Any of the SEALs that are active duty aren’t sitting down for the cameras here and the last I checked, it’s the Obama administration that has exposed more about them than anyone else in my memory. Before the bin laden killing, I could hear the name “SEAL Team 6″ and it wouldn’t mean anything to me but within 24 hrs of that, I had come to find out that they were stationed less than 2 miles down the road and we had international media showing up everywhere trying to learn more about them!! I’m a Navy brat, lived here just about my entire life, but I’ve never met an active duty SEAL….that I know of, that is….but I’d have no way of knowing because they don’t talk about what they do ;)

  • I was getting my updates from a friend who works for the VBEMS and was at the scene…..the heroic actions of these pilots should not be lost in this story but it wasn’t til overnight hours when we could verify that no one lost their lives!! not only were there no fatalities, but everyone has been released from the hospital (only one pilot was kept overnight, the worst civilian injuries were smoke inhalation) 2 things happened to save the lives of everyone involved, 2 heroic pilots and an Easter miracle!! for anyone concerned, there are people who lost their homes and possessions and I would recommend (if you can) to make donations to the Red Cross in their names (obviously not specific names but sadly I have to mention that for those who do not understand) the Red Cross stepped up immediately to help and any donations would be so greatly appreciated by all who call vb home….these people are our neighbors and I can assure everyone that us locals will be doing whatever we can as well!! this is the area where my Church has an outreach program that we work with on a weekly basis!! God bless everyone for their concern and take an extra minute to tell your loved ones how grateful you are for them because only the Lord knows what tomorrow holds….Happy Easter :)
