  The thing I really don’t understand is the one who left and called 911 and reported to the police. Did she NOT say the dude was armed and holding hostages?? If so, why in the name of Heaven, did the police go to the front door and try to confront him??? I realize budgets have but cut, but they can’t afford a bull horn to get the dude’s attention???? And, before you ask, I’m not a cop, not trained as one, and wouldn’t want to be one. But, it doesn’t take an Einstein to figger out just how to approach someone armed and holding hostages. It surely isn’t to confront him one to one and expect the hostage to survive. Whoever it was who first suggested a sniper hit the nail dead center on the head – the perp’s and not the hostage’s.

  What I’d like to know is who set up the cameras and why. And, Mil dot, I pack a .380. Iffin’ I gots ta use it, I want the LEAST amount of colateral damage going. Oh, and I don’t plan on using it in a shoot-out with police. I have better weapons than that – if push comes to shove.

  Saturday – The man who killed Chris was not evil. He has mental problems (PTSD) due to the war he had been fighting, and most likely was experiencing an episode of battle. Not all things are black or white. There are all kinds of shades of gray. No, I don’t know the individual, so it’s not a known personal thing. I AM quite aware of what can happen with PTSD and the difficulty in helping with it. That was exactly what Chris was trying to do, HELP.

  All of you are correct in this post. Rich, white politicians both repub and demidogs pass these laws. It IS the middle class, tax-paying, MOSTLY white people who have to pay the bills. It used to be shameful to have to admit you took aid from ANY government agency – city/county/state/fed. Now, it’s bragged about. Fifth generations on welfare raising a sixth generation to follow along. You should have to PROVE you need six months’ assistance before getting it.

  You know, whether you’re read your Miranda rights or not, unless you are being tortured, you do NOT have to open your mouth and say a word. Miranda or not, if you’re being tortured severly enough, you will most likely spill your guts. The average joe-blow terrorist isn’t taught how to deal with torture, just like your aren’t. Wouldn’t you spill your guts? The idea isn’t always to lead to a conviction of THAT individual, but it might just be to save more lives.

  Put him thru the regular court system and try him. When convicted, and he WILL be, sentence him to Levenworth general population to serve his time. It will be a very short time. There are enough military prisoners who love the US and will “indoctrinate” him on how to reach Moosehammad in short order, but not before having some “fun” with him. They have nothing to lose, and a poetic justice would be accomplished.

  The hotter the load in about any calibre will GENERALLY slow a person down/kill him. Then there is a matter of collateral damage. A lesser load will, unless he/she is shooting at you, will suffice. I carry a .380 with Hornady Home Defender semi-hot rounds. I DO NOT want the bullet to exit the body. Wherever you are, generally there are people around. Times Square is a prime example of what can happen when people close their eyes and jerk the trigger. It’s h3ll when, say 100 rounds are expended, thirteen wounded casualties, and the crook is captured without a scratch.
