  • If you can’t tell the difference between a REAL massacre and what’s in a book of fiction, then you’re really in no position to participate in conversations with adults.

Results of a real massacre: dead bodies strewn across the floor/room/school

Results of what Stephen King does: teenagers caught with caught with books that their mothers might not approve of

If you don’t see a serious difference between those two things, I really hope you don’t read and don’t own a gun.

  • Obama Attacks Fox; Find Out Which Host Fired Back Here

    In reply to DoGooder.

Well, then I guess they shouldn’t complain when President Obama doesn’t give them as much facetime as the other stations receive.

  • Don’t forget to trim the sides of your mustache before church tomorrow.

  • You’re really sick, dude. Anyone who would pray for people to be murdered and expect God to do it just isn’t right in the head. You might want to familiarize yourself with what your God actually says instead of assuming that he wants the same kind of carnage that you are hoping to see.

    Proverbs 24:17, 18
“Do not rejoice when your enemy falls and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; or the Lord will see and be displeased and turn His anger away from him.”

    Ezekiel 18:23
“Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, says the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?”

  • Barber2, my daughter and I were discussing that just 3 days ago. The truth is that Christians are mostly to blame for the fact that so many people turn to Islam in prison. The Bible specifically commands us to remember and visit the prisoners regularly. How many Christians do that? Instead of following these commands, most Christians prefer to relegate the job to a couple of pastors and leave it at that. Muslims are more faithful about the treatment of imprisoned people. People in prison see that faithfulness and it’s attractive. If Christians can’t even show that they are willing to follow the basic commands, then it’s hard to expect them to hold onto whatever nominal belief system they had before incarceration.

  • AMERICANSTREGA, I am so very sorry for your loss. I’ve been living with cancer for 10 years and I’ve had systemic lupus my entire life. I’ve taken steroids (prednisone and it’s cousins mostly) and I can attest that you are absolutely right. Steroids CAN kill you. I’ve seen the damage that they can cause and it’s not pretty. I’ve made plenty of bad decisions in my lifetime, but I was just fortunate enough to survive all of mine. Not everyone does. I hope that you do have many good memories of your brother that you can hold onto.

  • RAYDOCX, they did publish it. You just didn’t pay attention. Armstrong agreed to these rules and regulations. If they were anti-American or unfair, he was free to remain right here in America and leave the Tour de France to the French and those who were willing to agree to the rules. The Tour de France is a private affair. They are free to make any rules they want. So there ya’ go.

  • The idea that everyone suffers from the lack of ethics that Armstrong displayed is unproved. Armstrong was a favorite so he attracted better sponsors which made it possible for him to afford the very best doping procedures and drugs. My daughter is a student athlete. I think it does matter if Armstrong comes clean, because it would allow those who he besmirched to reestablish their credibility. It would show student athletes that “winning at all costs” can ruin your entire career and your body.

  • It sounds like he’s going to admit to what everyone familiar with cycling already knows: He was doping the whole time.

  • @SendTheMeteors You were absolutely correct when you wrote, “Businesses charge whatever people will pay regardless of any other factor”. These aren’t just benevolent organizations, set up to provide people with needed goods. They are in it to make money and that is most affected by what people are willing to pay.

The American people elected President Obama and expressed a willingness to deal with the kind of government that offers. If a policy did result in them paying more for certain goods, then that’s okay, because they feel that what we have is better than the realistic alternatives. I’m certainly okay with paying more for goods if it means that this country will improve for folks like me.

If corporations simply added the cost of their (increased) taxes onto the customers and that’s the main factor that controls price increases, then there’s no reason for them to be upset, because it won’t change their bottom line. Of course, we know that there ARE limitations to what customers will pay and if they raise prices beyond that point, then they start to lose customers.
