So, let me get this straight: the rest of the body can be subjected to disease, but the mind cannot? Various chemical concentrations of the brain do affect your mental state. I’ve never abused drugs in my life, yet I have bipolar disorder. It took some time to get the correct medication, but now that I have it done, I’m doing much better. This is like the religious leaders questioning the man born blind after Jesus healed him.
The problem with the medications used is that it’s hard to get the right diagnosis in the first place. Then, you need the proper medication(s) in the right dose(s) and take them consistently. They probably need monitoring under a doctor’s care. It’s not a matter of taking the psychotropic equivalent of Advil and moving on.
Might you consider that God gave mankind a mind to use that His glory and power over sin might be expressed via medication?
